Fall is nipping at our heels, so I’m kicking it off by teaming up with some incredibly talented blogger friends for a Tastes of the Season Holiday Recipe series. Each month through the end of the year, there will be seasonally inspired recipes you won’t want to miss!

This month, of course, is the classic flavor of fall — the one everyone waits for…..PUMPKIN.  I’ll be linking up all 20 delicious recipes at the end of this post. Be sure to visit each one for even more pumpkin-inspired recipes

Whipped Pumpkin Spice Butter Spread

For me, once September rolls around it’s pretty much a fact that there is no such thing as too much pumpkin. I’m in full pumpkin mode and will be including it into my diet as much as possible for the next several months.

So, of course, I thought the only way to make my cinnamon honey butter even better is to turn it into a pumpkin spice honey butter that you can spread on almost anything.

I even blew myself away with this one considering I think I have spread it on literally everything I’ve eaten for the past 3 days.

This recipe is one you’re going to want to save for later, it’s simplistic instructions, limited ingredients, and comforting fall flavor make for the perfect recipe!

How to Eat Pumpkin Spice Butter Spread

Let’s be clear from the very beginning, there’s really no wrong way to eat this pumpkin spice honey butter. Let’s be honest, I could almost lick it right off the spoon. It’s just that good!

While you can put it on whatever you want, here are a few of my favorite ways to use this amazingly delicious pumpkin spread any time of the day!

Breakfast: If I’m craving a little pumpkin spice butter in the morning, I love spreading it on top of my waffles, pancakes or pumpkin banana bread! It’s the perfect way to add some more flavor to a plain waffle or pancake. If I don’t have time to make waffles or pancakes I love to toast a couple pieces of bread and spread it right on top (bonus points if its cinnamon swirl bread).

Lunch: One of my favorite lunch snacks is bagel with a touch of pumpkin spice butter on top.

Dinner: This spread is amazing to put on top of a dinner roll, or artisan bread to add a little sweetness to your last meal of the day.

Fresh Pumpkin Vs Canned Pumpkin

I’m not going to lie, I am an avid user of canned pumpkin. To put it plain and simple, I like the ease and convenience of canned, and I like the taste. That doesn’t mean I don’t love fresh pumpkin. If I have the chance to use fresh I don’t pass up the opportunity.

I’m just here to clarify that using canned pumpkin is not going to lower the quality of the dish you’re making.

The main difference when it comes to baking with fresh versus canned is the texture and color. Fresh pumpkin is going to be lighter in color with more of a yellow hue and the texture will be creamy, slightly loose and fluffy.

Canned pumpkin puree will be your typical pumpkin orange color and the texture will be loose, smooth, and very thick.

So, when it comes down to it, there is no right or wrong when it comes to your pumpkin puree. Now that you have a little more information on the topic, the choice is ultimately up to you. Just be sure to take into consideration how much time you have, and what kind of texture/color you want in your final product.

The aroma when this Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Banana Bread comes out of the oven is nothing short of heaven! This is the quick bread recipe every pumpkin spice lover needs! It’s perfect for dessert, breakfast, gifting or just snacking!

Have A Question About Pumpkin Spice Butter?

Can I Leave Pumpkin Spice Butter Sitting Out? As a rule of thumb, you should keep the pumpkin honey butter in the refrigerator for the best results, and to allow for a longer shelf life. You could technically let it sit out for a day and it will still be okay, but I highly recommend keeping it in the refrigerator.

Does Pumpkin Honey Butter go Bad? It can be used for up to 3 weeks if kept in the refrigerator. Use the expiration date of the butter you use as a reference for when the spread will go bad. If your has a strong smell, it’s probably rancid. … salted butter will keep longer because salt acts as a preservative.

Can I freeze Pumpkin Spice Butter? If you want to make a couple batches at once and store them in the freezer for later, you definitely can! Just place it in an airtight container, and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Is Pumpkin Spice Butter Spread Easy to Make? Uh yes!! That’s one of my favorite things about this recipe. It is so incredibly easy, only takes a few ingredients, and everyone loves it! Not to mention it’s a no-bake recipe which is always a win in my book! I can keep it around to use for up to 3 weeks (use the expiration date of the butter you use as a reference for when the spread will go bad.

If you still have another question that I didn’t answer in the post, please leave a comment and I’ll try to answer anything to the best of my ability!
