I’m going to take a stab in the dark here and guess that most of you love stylish bags as much as I do. So when it comes to carrying around my camera and lenses it only make sense that I’d want a cute bag!

Epiphanie Camera Bags are so stylish and look like a purse, no one would ever guess you’re carrying all of your camera gear (and so much more) in your bag!

ok………..so that cute little camera bling might be a hint………isn’t it cute?

I got the new Lyric bag. Not only does it have room for my camera, a few lenses, my wallet, and iphone, but it also has a zipper pocket for my ipad as well as pockets for extra memory cards and lip gloss {wink}.

I’m Lovin’ It – Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 lens

I LOVE my new lens!…….and you won’t believe how little I paid for it!

Tamron 28-75mm 2.8 (for Nikon)

I’m going to be totally honest here…..I’ve had lens envy for quite some time. As much as I enjoy my 35 mm 1.8 Nikon lens for portraits and food shots, it’s not a great “walk around lens. It’s a prime lens, meaning no zoom (you zoom with your feet).

When I was in Monterey with Dole I was introduced to a new lens. Kristen and Shaina had a very ~~intimidating~~ gorgeous lens on their cameras. I fell in love with it that day. Fast forward a few months to my Utah trip, and that same lens starts popping up again, this time on Katie and Helen’s cameras. I start to notice more of my favorite bloggers, Amanda and Jenny, are shooting with this lens as well. By this time, I know I want the Nikon 24-70mm 2.8 ….but I’m also wanting a new camera. I soon find out my dream lens is out of my budget, especially if I want a camera any time soon. {hangs head}

That’s when I started thinking about a Tamron lens. I talked to Amy and Angie of i heart faces and they had nothing but rave reviews about Tamron lenses. Did you know that Tamron makes lenses that are compatible with both Nikon and Cannon? Well, Tamron has a lens similar to my dream lens!

So I got the Tamron 28-75mm 2.8

I LOVE it! It’s not as heavy as the 24-70 mm and it was one third of the price! Perfect solution to my needs, right now. Some day when I can splurge for the other lens, I can sell this one.

Back to School Pictures

I mentioned the other day, we started back to school Monday. Isn’t that insane? it’s the middle of the summer. What happened to school starting in the fall?

If I was president I would make ALL schools start after Labor Day! haha

Some days I can’t fathom the thought that our youngest is walking the halls of high school and driving!

Life moves SO fast sometimes………we need to remind our selves and our children, who always want to “grow up” so fast……to SLOW DOWN stop rushing thru life and appreciate the moments that you have now!

Like many families, every year we take the traditional “first day of school pictures” before she hops in her dad’s truck for a ride to school. I think he’s enjoying that ride this year more than ever, since it will probably be the last year she will need a ride. {sniff sniff}

I don’t think my parents took first day of school pictures when we were growing up, so I ‘m not quite sure when the trend became so big. But it’s certainly fun looking back at the outfits the girls put SO much thought into, what hairstyle trends they were sporting, and what backpacks they carried……… it’s a tradition they always look forward to on the first day of school!!- we should take “mom’s first day” pictures to and see how grey she turns each year! {or NOT}

Getting ready for a new school year is such a big part of your childs life, shopping for school supplies, a new wardrobe, meeting new teachers, making new friends……have fun documenting some of those details with your camera.
