Rudolph’s Tipsy Spritzer
Who’s ready to get tipsy with Rudolph this season?! It’s time to get ready for Santa to come to town, and what better way to do that than with your wrapping paper in one hand a drink in the other!
Rudolph’s Tipsy Spritzer will have you feeling jolly in no time and is perfect for sipping while you decorate the tree, or serving to friends at the annual Christmas party. If the North Pole had a signature drink, I think this would be it!
There’s nothing that says Christmas drink more than a Santa red juice that comes together with hints of cranberry, orange juice, ginger ale, and vodka. Top it off with a sprig of rosemary and a few cranberries and you have yourself a drink even the big man himself can’t resist.
How To Mix Rudolph’s Tipsy Spritzer By The Glass
While this tipsy spritzer is amazing enough to drink a whole pitcher in one night, sometimes you have to limit yourself to just one. So, if you don’t want to tempt yourself with leaving a whole pitcher in the house, here are some instructions to make a single serving.
- 2 oz of each juice
- 1.5 oz of soda
- 1.5 oz of vodka
- splash of maraschino cherry juice
- splash of lemon juice
To find the full ingredients list and measurements for a full pitcher, look for the recipe card at the bottom of this post. The original recipe makes a pitcher of about 10 glasses and is great for a small party. It will also keep in the refrigerator for up 3-5 days making it a great cocktail you can sip on almost all week.
Make Rudolph’s Tipsy Spritzer Kid-Friendly!
Looking to make Rudolph’s spritzer a little less tipsy? Lucky for you, it’s super easy to make this cocktail into a kid-friendly mocktail the whole family can enjoy!
Just simply omit the vodka when adding the ingredients in the recipe! There are no substitutes or replacements of any kind needed once you remove the vodka. The drink is already full of so many delicious flavors you won’t even notice the vodka missing.
Once you remove the vodka this drink is like the old classic Shirley Temple with a bit of a twist! If you’re still looking for something to bring to the school holiday party than look no further than this delightfully sweet and festive drink the kids will love.
Secrets For Mixing Drinks Like The Pros
Chill your ingredients: If you want to serve you Rudolph’s tipsy spritzer immediately, you’ll want to ensure all of your ingredients are chilled prior to mixing.
No one wants a warm cocktail, and adding too much ice for a quick chill will end up diluting the drink after a while. Make sure the juices and vodka have had at least 2-4 hours to chill before mixing.
Make sure your juice/soda is fresh: Even if your ingredients are properly chilled, they won’t taste as good if they aren’t fresh. Old flat soda or juice from an old lemon won’t give it the same great flavors we all know this spritzer is capable of.
If you’re questioning whether or not your ingredients are fresh enough, err on the side of buying new ones.
Don’t be afraid to substitute: Sometimes we can’t always find what we need, or we might just have the desire to switch things up. If you find yourself in either of these scenarios a substitute that can be made is leaving out the cherry juice and just buying cherry 7up.
Using cherry 7UP allows you to get the taste of the white soda and cherries in one step instead of two. Who doesn’t love saving steps and time?

This cocktail is so beautiful and perfect for the holidays! We love doing fun different things each year and this one is at the top of our drink list for this year!
Oh my goodness these are beautiful!
Cheers to the holidays! I am making this for Christmas Eve!
This is my kind of beverage. Pretty and perky!
I loved this! Such an amazing holiday drink!
This is a great idea celebrate party !!
i love this idea. Thanks for sharing.
Where are these holiday cups from?
The cups are a few years old from target! I just checked and it doesn’t appear that they have any on the site anymore, but I will keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I see them come back in stock.
They have them on Amazon but won’t arrive until the 28th
These look delicious! Did you use 100% cranberry juice or cranberry juice cocktail?
Hi MommaE,
Thanks so much! We used 100% cranberry juice, but cranberry juice cocktail will work just fine as well.
Made this for a holiday party over the weekend. Everyone loved it! I did add a bit more vodka than called for and made a non alcoholic batch for those who don’t drink. Super tasty and went fast. Thanks for sharing!
I want to make a large batch and freeze some in a mold to add to the punch and keep cold, but I am wondering if making it ahead with the soda would work or will that not work, would the soda taste flat if I freeze it?
I would just make a cranberry ice mold like this https://www.oceanspray.com/Recipes/By-Course/Crafts/Festive-Punch-Ring
Hopefully that helps!
You mentioned you can leave this in the frig for a few days. Won’t the soda go flat?
I would add all the mix ahead of time, but add the soda just before serving.
good idea for enjoying the party!
I’m planning on making this for Christmas and just curious if anyone has tried the different soda options. If so, which was the favorite? I think the ginger ale will be best for Christmas, but I’m curious which was the fan fave, thanks!
If the cocktail recipe didn’t have me (which it totally did), then the santa glass did! Need to know where you got the Santa/Christmas glasses- we love them!
from Target a few years ago
How can I make this as a single serving?
What are the measurements for a pitcher?
the recipe as listed is for a pitcher
the measurements by the glass are in the body of the blog post.
I absolutely love the glasses in your picture (Santa and Reindeer). Can you tell me where I might find them?
they are from Target a few years ago
Looks great. Wonderful photo shoot of your recipes.
Looks delicious! Do you use the juice from a jar of cherries? Making this for a party tonight.
I make them my mashing the cherries
I wonder what I could use instead of the maraschino juice. I live in a small town and this would be an “exotic” ingredient lol
you could use Cherry 7UP, then omit the cherry juice
Where did you find those Santa glasses?
They are from Target several years ago
Made these last year for our Christmas Eve party was a hit!!! Will be making them again this year!!!
Probably a silly question, but can this recipe be doubled with it tasting fine? Or should it be modified ? Thanks 🙂
I made this and it looks nothing like the bright red picture that is showing.
Every time we make this, the drinks are red, as in the pictures
This recipe is pretty good. I did add a little sugar. Also, I added more cherry juice than the recipe indicates. Also, the punch isn’t as red as the picture indicates.
can i use tart cherry juice or should i use the juice from the actual marachino cherries jar?
