How To Make A Perfect Creamy Italian Chicken Recipe
I’m not kidding when I say this recipe for creamy crockpot chicken couldn’t be easier. Just follow these simple instructions and get ready for a dinner everyone will devour!
First, you’ll cut the chicken and place it in the slow cooker. Next, prepare the salad dressing mix and pour over the chicken. Lastly, beat cream cheese and soup until blended and pour the mixture over chicken.
Once all of the ingredients are combined, cook on low until cooked through. To serve, season with salt and pepper to taste and dish it up over cooked rice or noodles.
Tips For Making The Best Creamy Crockpot Chicken
Slow cooker recipes are a breeze, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any room for improvement when it comes to making your favorite easy weeknight dinner recipes. Here are a few of my favorite tips and tricks that take this creamy Italian chicken to the next level.
- While any chicken will work for this recipe, I suggest using boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I’ve found it gives the juiciest results, and won’t dry out as easily.
- To add a little bit of spice to the recipe, try swapping out the original Italian dressing mix for the zesty Italian dressing mix. Make sure to use the packets, not the bottle of Italian dressing.
- Try cutting the cream cheese into cubes before placing it into the mixture. This will help with the melting process while cooking.
- If the mixture is too thick, add 1/4-1/2 cup of chicken broth or milk to thin it out.
- For a dinner, you can get on the table in a flash, use a pressure cooker instead of a slow cooker. To cook in a pressure cooker, follow all of the same directions below, but set your pressure cooker to manual/high pressure and cook for 7-8 minutes.

Prepping leftovers for storing: No matter how you choose to store your leftover crockpot Italian chicken, you’ll need to make sure it’s wrapped up and placed in the proper containers to ensure the best results and optimal freshness.
First, you’ll need to let the Italian chicken cool completely. Once cooled place all leftovers in one large airtight container, or spoon single servings into several smaller airtight containers.
Storing in the refrigerator: To store in the refrigerator, place your airtight container full of the creamy crockpot chicken on a flat surface and store for up to 5 days.
Storing In the freezer: To store in the freezer, place your airtight container(s) on a flat surface and store for up to 3 months.

I honestly don’t know where I would be without my stand mixer! It’s truly a lifesaver for anyone who does a decent amount of baking or cooking. With that being said, if you aren’t ready to commit to a stand mixer purchase, a good hand mixer works just as well too!
I’ve been using this same crockpot for years and it still my all-time favorite slow cooker to use!

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts *(see notes)
- 1 envelope Italian salad dressing
- 1/4 cup water
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- salt and pepper to taste
- hot cooked pasta or rice
- Cut the chicken into medium-sized chunks and place in the slow cooker.
- Combine salad dressing mix and water and pour over chicken.
- In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and soup until blended**. Pour mixture over chicken. Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Salt and pepper to taste and serve over cooked rice or noodles.
*I often use chicken tenderloins and do not cut them up. Or you can cook chicken breasts whole and shred the chicken before serving.
**You can also just add the soup and cut up cream cheese into chunks and place over the chicken instead of using a mixer to blen.
