I’m Lovin’ It – My Nesco Roaster

I have several kitchen “tools” that I can not live with out and my Nesco Roaster is one of them.

I bought it on a whim one day when several other ladies were raving about it on Fishing For Deals.  That was several years ago, and I still LOVE it!

This is NOT a paid or sponsored post……it’s just a product I have used and loved for years.

90% of the time I use it as a slow cooker, for dishes such as our Italian Beef , Creamy Italian Chicken, and BBQ Beef.

The 6-quart capacity family-size roaster oven also roasts, bakes, cooks, steams, as well as slow cooks and serves all in one!  It’s versatility and size make it a perfect appliance for preparing family meals as well as, a practical gift – ideal for weddings, showers, Mother’s Day and Christmas!

I have never used it to it’s full capacity, slow cooking is what I do most with it.  I love the shape, the size and that the pan is removable and can be used for serving and makes for easy clean up!!

As a roaster I use it to make Amazing Pulled Pork!  It’s a must try recipe that slow cooking is not enough…….the roasting in the final steps is what makes this pulled pork AH-mazing!

Do you have a favorite kitchen “tool”?  I plan on sharing a few more in the next few weeks!

  8. I have never had a roaster but always wanted one! especially for these monster chickens I get from the local farmer each spring, they are huge! I received a Kitchen Aid food processor for Christmas and LOVE it. My old FP broke over the summer. I use it to make my pizza dough, so we had homemade pizza last night. YUM!

  9. You are talking my language now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!!! my Nescos ~ YES that’s plural! I have two of the 18 quart sized and one of the 6 quart. I won’t even part with my 2nd 18 qt to one of my kids just in case I might need to use it. LOL I’m telling you since you have said you don’t use it to its full capacity – you MUST do a turkey in yours!!! Seriously. I tried that about 10 yrs ago and I have never used my oven to cook a turkey again. Ever! Why do I have two 18 qt size? ummm because they came out with a better well that is non-stick and I wanted it and we were in Farm & Fleet store, it was on sale for an insane price so hubby just grabbed it and put it into the cart knowing I wanted that one. LOL He loves these things as much as I do. I have bad, very bad knees so these are a Godsend for me. I just LOVE cooking and baking but can’t do as much as I used to. I can do minimal prep and put something in the Nesco and that’s it. I love that they can be used as a slow cooker but they seem to cook a bit faster than a slow cooker. And turkey? You can actually put up to a 12 lb turkey in the Nesco frozen and it’s ready to eat in 3-4 hrs. Just be sure to check internal temps before eating and remove the stuff from the inside once it’s thawed enough.

  10. OH! Pulled Pork!! YUM!!!!! I have to share this lil secret I discovered on New Years from my sis in law. You MAY already know….BUT just in case you didn’t I have to tell you!! If you add a can or two of El Pato’s Tomato Sauce to ANY roast in a slow cooker it makes the most DELICIOUS Carne Guisada!! All you need is the tender pulled meat and a handful of corn tortillas and you are good to go! 🙂

  14. LOVE my NESCO’s – we have the 6 qt and the 18 qt…they come in handy for the casual entertaining we do. They are 2 of the best purchases we’ve made – they get used a lot!
