It’s not often we have leftover lasagna dip! But if you do, you can easily store it in the fridge or freezer.

Cover the skillet with plastic wrap or aluminum foil or transfer the dip to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for 10-15 minutes.

If you’re not going to eat the leftovers within 3 days, you can put them in a freezer-safe container and store them in the freezer for up to 3 months. Allow it to thaw in the fridge overnight before serving.

Variations + Tips

  • Cheese – Swap out some or all of the ricotta for cottage cheese.
  • Meat – Use ground beef, ground chicken, or ground turkey instead of the sausage. Or, substitute vegetables or your favorite meat alternative for a vegetarian version.
  • Dippers – Try dipping into the dip with tortilla chips, pita chips, pasta chips, or sliced veggies.
  • Oil – Instead of avocado oil, try olive oil or another neutral oil you have handy.
  • Heat – For a spicy kick add crushed red pepper flakes or black pepper.
  • Sauce – Instead of using a jarred sauce make a homemade tomato sauce.
  • Garnish – Instead of basil use fresh parsley or another fresh herb that you have on hand.

If you don’t have an oven-safe or cast iron skillet, transfer the dip to a casserole dish before topping with the cheese.

You can make lasagna dip in a slow cooker. Just brown the beef, then add everything to the crockpot and heat on low. The only downside is that the cheese will not be browned like it is in the oven
