I’m Lovin’ It : My 8″ Henckels Chef’s Knife

If you were around for the holidays, you may remember my Holiday Wish List, and how I said I thought a Henckels Chef’s Knife could possibly change my life.
Well fortunately for me, Santa came thru and I was right! My new knife has changed my life in the kitchen!!
I have never owned a good knife, so considering that a good chef’s knife is probably the single most important and useful tool in a kitchen, it’s no wonder it’s made such an impact on me!
Now, I’ll be the first to tell you I don’t know much about knives but I do know I’m in LOVE with the 8″ Henckels Chef’s Knife I’m now using and I’m blown away at the difference a good knife can make.
I wish I could make sure you ALL had a good knife in your kitchen……….but I can make sure ONE of you has one!

I am left-handed and it is SO hard to find a GOOD knife (which is an essential to wonderful cooking and enjoying cooking) because most are ‘one’ sided. So I have struggled along for 38 years just because I can’t afford to find a truly good ambidextrous knife! Glad you have a wonderful set! And thank you so much for offering the freebie!

I have been drooling over the Henckels knife sets at Williams-Sonoma for months now! They’re not in my budget right now…but one of these days I will have a set (even if it’s the smallest set!) 🙂 The knives that I have right now are adequate at best! I do have one good utility knife from Pampered Chef. I like it because it has a sharpening case. What I don’t like about it is, it is not dishwasher safe.

I always, always use a paring knife but today I bought a cheap 6″ chef knife. My hands are small and I have arthritis. But, darn it, I could make myself learn a few new skills if I won this knife!

Knives are so expensive… so, when it came time for my momma to start her kitchen when she was a newlywed, she used any knives that seemed durable. Many years have passed and all I still see in her drawers are knives she bought from Ikea, Marshalls, or an Asian market.
