I thought we’d play a little game today. Have you heard of Three Truths and a Lie? I’m going to give you 4 statements about my new Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer………see if you can guess which is a lie?
1. My Duet Washer uses as little as 11.5 gallons of water per load.
2. My Duet Dryers uses sensors to determine when clothes are dry and turn off when the clothes are dry.
3. My Duet Washer and Dryer lures the rest of my family to do all of the laundry for me.
4. My Duet Washer saves energy, with an Eco Boost option, by reducing water temperature and increasing agitation (tumbling), all while delivering the same results with less energy used.
Did you catch the lie?
The Whirlpool Duet is the industry’s most resource efficient laundry pair. I’m actually saving quite a bit of money – by doing laundry.
I love knowing that the built in sensors in my dryer knows when my clothes are dry and stops automatically. Giving me a little extra money to spend on pumpkin spice lattes instead of an electric bill.
My Duet’s have so many settings that save me time…….but I think mine is missing the setting that lures my family to do all of the laundry for me! HA!! Although I will say, they do seem to help more often because they like working the fancy machines – the enhanced touch up feature is a favorite. Our ironing stack has been reduced to virtually zilch!
Let’s face it……..we all face mountains laundry, with unidentifiable stains, MIA socks, and the the never ending chore of putting it all away……only to turn around and notice someone has flipped another towel in the hamper just as you utter the words “it’s all done”. The Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer have seriously changed the way I feel about doing laundry, it’s no longer a chore, but something I actually don’t mind doing.
How many loads of laundry does your family produce in a week?

Those washers are so amazing! We do 1-2 loads a day…but more in the winter and sports season!
I have the older model of the Duet system and love them! An even better way to save money is to use your clothes line! Put the clothes in the dryer for about 10 minutes and then line dry. Everything comes out soft and smelling wonderful. It is much kinder to the environment, your budget, your clothes. Just a thought… : )
Remember to wipe down the inside edges of the washer and gasket and leave the door ajar so that it can dry in all the nooks and crannies. This type of machine is prone to mold and mildew if you don’t air it out well.
I have an older duet washer and a newer duet dryer and absolutely love them! It would be nice if they matched but that is okay as not much matches in my life right now, ha ha! I used to dry my clothes on the line but my allergies have gotten so bad hat I had to forgo it for the time being (that is if I want to breathe!)
# of loads of laundry a week…. probably 14 or 15 but they are usually really big loads. Even with the load size we noticed a dramatic drop in our electric bill when we bought the newer duet dryer! 🙂
My 7 yr old son said if we got these he would do the laundry for me. I am thinking that this would be the best of both worlds.
I wish I had the Whirlpool Duet, have heard such great things about it. I do 7-9 loads of laundry of week. It would be great to have a button that just did it all for us!
That is my dream washer and dryer!
I would love that touch-up feature!!!
If there was a washer/dryer that lured my kids to do their own laundry, I would pay a LOT of money for it. As it is, these Duets sound like the next best thing 😉
Yes, it’s a very attractive washer and dryer plus if we can save some money, have more efficiency and have an environmentally friendly set…..sounds like a wise choice!!!
We do 5 loads per week.
I LOVE my red Duets. With this large washer we only wash 1-2 loads per day. One of the things I love the most is the steam option on the dryer. The only reason I was lucky enough to get this set is because my old dryer quit working the day of my hubby’s grandma’s funeral visitation and we had company staying at our home. This was the set the local shop had on hand, they did the delivery and install. I have had a couple of other front loads since they first started coming out and I must say I really love these. The first time we ever washed with one we were amazed at all of the kids’ stains that came out that we couldn’t get out with pre-treaters.
Oh how I wish I could have the new Duet pair. *sigh* Not to make you jealous but mine would come with the ‘family help’ setting since my husband is an amazing guy who helps protect me from pain and does ours. I would LOVE to have someone send me (him) these awesome machines. So how do we get a guy signed up for that? LOL I know that steam setting would be well used by me to get those wrinkles from my clothes. Our closet is very small so my shirts are always coming out of that closet wrinkled.
Sorry your machines didn’t come with that family help setting but you have all those pretty lights and awesome settings on them to help at least right? 😉
OK…..Am I the only person who does not like this washer? I have the older version and I am so unhappy. The mold and mildew is such a problem. I have to clean my washer with special soap at least once a month just to wash my clothes!! I have to leave the washer door open to prevent mold and mildew which I find could be a safety issue for small children (they could climb in and shut the door and get trapped) I have to take out the compartment where the soap/bleach goes in to try to prevent mold and mildew. I have had my husband take off the bottom panel so that I can take off the cover and completly drain out the water because it never drains completly and the water that sits in the bottom smells. UGH…not to be Debbie Downer but as you can see I am totally unhappy with this machine! When this one goes I will definately replace with a Top Loader!!!
I will say I love the dryer..
I need a new washer dryer… I’ll have to look into this one…
