Incredible Mind Blowing Dessert These Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes are THAT good!
Oh yes! you read that right! We made THE most amazing cupcakes back in November for my oldest daughter’s 23rd birthday! She’s a huge fan of cookie dough and couldn’t say YES fast enough to Cookie Dough Cupcakes with Cookie Dough Frosting.
You may remember, the year before she picked Chocolate Chip Cookie Brownies for her birthday dessert……are you seeing a pattern here? How am I going to top these two cookie dough recipes for her next birthday?!
Well, let me tell you, these cupcakes DID NOT FAIL!
They were so good……….I wouldn’t even call them cupcakes, it’s not a big enough title……….maybe something like “Incredible Mind Blowing Dessert”.…….yeah, I think that’s MUCH better. Because these are nothing like you’ve ever had before! If you or someone you know is a cookie dough lover, YOU MUST make these!

I know!!!!………Gorgeous to look at aren’t they?! Just imagine how they TASTE!
Grab your apron…..here we go……… they’re a little time consuming but SO worth every minute!

These cupcakes look great and I’m definately going to try these out. The fat content is pretty high from all the butter though. Is there any substitutions I can make that keep a good flavor?
I made these this weekend and they have been a hit! Yes, you got my attention with the cookie dough, you had me w the condensed milk! Thanks so much for sharing! I’ll definitely make these again
The cupcakes alone are delicious. The filling – mmmmm (I am thinking of rolling bite size bits and keeping em in a bag in the freezer for ice cream toppings, I can’t bear to throw away the extra I have in the fridge!) and the icing. Well, its the icing on the cupcake! Deeellish from start to finish!
With 6+ sticks of butter you know these have to be good! I think I might try halfing the recipe though and just doing 12 to start with. Thanks for sharing!
I actually did try this recipe and I blogged about it. Here’s the link. Thanks again for posting this!
I made these and LOVED them!
Blogged and linked to you here: http://treelovesjake.blogspot.com/2011/05/chocolate-chip-cookie-dough-cupcakes.html
I am making cupcakes for our Mother’s Day brunch and I have been trying to decide what kind to make. Problem solved. I will be making THESE! oh YUM. I can’t wait!!
Beautiful cupcakes!! I used just the frosting recipe to go with the Easy Gourmet Cupcake recipe I found here (these were the BOMB!! YUM!!):
http://heatherbailey.typepad.com/heather_bailey/2011/01/easy_gourmet_cupcakes_recipe.html
The frosting was not a hit with the big group I served them to on Mother’s Day.
When I asked (kids scraping off the frosting???), some told me it was extremely sweet and the main issue was that it is grainy. Maybe I did something wrong and the brown sugar should have been dissolved during incorporation??
Thank you for sharing your recipe and inspiring me to make cupcakes!! I LOVE your blog.
I just made these and Oh. My. Gosh!!! They are simply amazing. I accidentally dumped in a whole bag of chocolate chips instead of one cup for the cupcake batter – turned out just great, though. I think this will be my go-to recipe EVERY time I need to bring dessert to an event. YUM!!!!
These are the BEST cupcakes!!!
These were amazing! Thanks for sharing =) Such a huge hit!
Can this recipe be baked into a cake form?
This is the best cupcake recipe I’ve ever come across. I made these for my air traffic controller buddies at work and they were all gone in a few hours. I use your cupcake recipe for everything from strawberry cupcakes to bacon cupcakes( i just switch out the type of sugar). Your cupcake recipe always makes the most moist and fluffy cupcakes. Your recipe is the best thing to happen to cupcake-holics. Thank you so much for sharing it! I’d be making hard flour tasting cupcakes if it weren’t for you!
These cupcakes look amazing i cant wait to try them
Do i have to cook off the flour in the frosting or just add it staight in?
Thanks
Hello! I was just wondering if you recommend tossing the chocolate chips that will be in the batter in a little bit of flour so that they won’t sink to the bottom? Thanks in advance.
do you have to cook off the flour before adding to frosting?
I’m not sure what you mean by cook off…….there’s no cooking involved in the frosting, just mix the ingredients
Made these for desert with my 10 year old, must say it was rough getting through the recipe without hurting ourselves eating first the mini chocolate chips, cookie dough batter and the icing. My word this stuff is freaking fantastic. Thank you so much for the recipe. I pinned my picture and mentioned Tidy Mom as my recipe source. Thanks again.
Thanks for the recipe! I blog about making them for my friend’s baby shower, check it out!
Is the filling liquidy enough to be piped into the cupcake? Or is it more solid like real cookie dough?
I can’t even believe that you have a 23 year old! These look wonderful- my kids (and husband) will go nuts for them!
LOVE this cookie dough frosting!!! I thought it was going to be too sweet but it was perfect and really tasted like cookie dough!
OMG i made these cupcakes and everyone loved them. The only problem was they were a little dry so i wanted to replace the butter for oil i don’t know would that change anything else about the cupcakes like the chewy cookie like top? And how much oil would be needed to replace the three sticks of butter?
Oh my gosh, these were way way way too sweet with the filling. Take out the filling, and they work great.
I have to say, thank you, the recipe for this frosting is by far, the best frosting I’ve ever made/tasted. Thank you again!
These are absolutely some of the BEST cupcakes I have ever eaten!! The batter was as light as air. I have never seen batter that light & fluffy. If you love chocolate chip cookies, then you will love these cupcakes. This is as close to a real cookie as you could possibly get. The best part of this recipe? It is easy enough that my 12 old made them by himself!!
Holy butter!!
WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED OF THIS CUPCAKE RECIPE? (runs to the kitchen to take a load of butter out of the refrigerator)
