I’m Lovin’ It : My 8″ Henckels Chef’s Knife

If you were around for the holidays, you may remember my Holiday Wish List, and how I said I thought a Henckels Chef’s Knife could possibly change my life.
Well fortunately for me, Santa came thru and I was right! My new knife has changed my life in the kitchen!!
I have never owned a good knife, so considering that a good chef’s knife is probably the single most important and useful tool in a kitchen, it’s no wonder it’s made such an impact on me!
Now, I’ll be the first to tell you I don’t know much about knives but I do know I’m in LOVE with the 8″ Henckels Chef’s Knife I’m now using and I’m blown away at the difference a good knife can make.
I wish I could make sure you ALL had a good knife in your kitchen……….but I can make sure ONE of you has one!

I have a good Kyocera ceramic knife, but I would love to try the Henckel’s chef knife.
We have a chef’s knife…with a chunk removed 😛 I dunno. Got weak and chipped out. ?? But we could sure use a new one! My aspiring chef loves testing out knives, and he and this knife would be a perfect fit, I can tell.
I HAD a calphalon 8 ” chef’s knife and I loved it. But, I was trying to pry ice cream out of a pie plate and broke the tip off of it. This would be great!!!

A good knife can make all the difference! I have one from Williams-Sonoma that I love, but could definitely use another!
My knives are so pathetic, I broke a knife cutting into a chunk of colby cheese last week!! The handle snapped right off! I would love to own a knife that’s useful for cutting more than butter! haha
I am new to cooking and have never had a good knife. Prepping is the part I most dislike so maybe having a good knife would make me like prepping more 🙂

I was just telling my husband this week that I need a “real” knife in the kitchen! I cut almost everything using a steak knife! (Terrible, I know, and I know my cooking would be better with a good knife in my arsenal!) Thanks for the great giveaway!

well…i THOUGHT i had good knives. apparently don’t. every time my kids come they make fun of my knives and me for not having one that actually cuts. and i LOVE to cook! i spend time sawing away at something that, if i had a sharp knife, would only take me a pair of seconds. i actually sharpen my knives before my kids come, but after a short time of use….i think my teeth cut better.
I have a cheap chefs knife, and always wished for one. With putting 3 kids thru college it wasn’t on top of my list to purchase. I love to cook, so having this knife would be awesome!!!!

I don’t have a good knife. I bought an expensive set for my hubby when he was cooking professionally years ago…he kept them with him at work…but over the years they seemed to “grow legs” so he doesn’t even have any left from the set now. I would LOVE a great knife.

I just usually use a sharp paring knife – but need a really good all-purpose knife!
I have a good small knife. It fits in my hand nicely and has a good sharp blade. I use it all the time, but I would appreciate a good large knife, as it would be easier to chop onions with: recently I had to chop 3 peppers and 6 onions and it was so difficult. I would love to win that knife.
Oh MY…there is not a sharp thing in my kitchen unless you count my 10 year old Pampered Chef paring knives! As a south Louisiana cook misplaced in the north Atlanta area, you’d think I would have some sharp knives with all that chopping and dicing for gumbos and jambalayas. But, no. I just use those little paring knives and plan to stay a while at the kitchen counter. Thanks for sharing about this great find!

I dont have any knives worth bragging about! I have a long bread knife that I actually use to cut everything, and it works the best of all of them! Sure could use this one!! 🙂

My favorite knife is a 6″ standard motel knife I rescued when a motel I was working at underwent renovations after Hurricane Isabel. I don’t own any ‘real’ brand name knives.

I don’t really own a good knife. My husband bought a knife set for me a couple of years ago, but they aren’t very good quality. At least he tried. He just has no idea that a good knife is a serious investment.

The closest thing I have ever had to a chef’s knife is the one that came with a cheap set of knives in a butcher block from the walmart. I made the comment a few years ago that I wanted a couple nice knives and someone gave me this for my birthday. I make do because it is what I have, but it sure would be nice to have a nice one. One of these days I might have a couple hundred bucks laying around to go buy a nice chef’s knife and paring knife.
