The Mint Automatic Floor Cleaner

When you have a house with 3 inside dogs, sometimes it takes an army to keep the house clean!  Even though there is only one one dog that sheds, there is one dog, who wishes to remain anonymous, that likes to collect leaves and sprinkle them all over my house.  So needless to say, it’s a never ending battle to keep it clean, and I need all the help I can get.

The Mint Floor Cleaner at TidyMom

I was so thrilled when the people at iRobot reached out to me again, asking if I’d like to try The Mint + Floor Cleaner.  It was perfect timing because I had recently spent some time with Carolyn Forte, Director of the Home Appliances and Cleaning Products Department at Good Housekeeping, and she raved about The Mint cleaner when we discussed robotic floor cleaning devices.  So the Mint was on my radar and I was dying to give it a go.

Let me tell you guys………Carolyn wasn’t kidding.  The Mint is a DREAM!  Not only is she whisper quiet  but she’s efficient and does an amazing job! Mint Plus is not a vacuum, it operates quietly so you – and your pets – won’t be disturbed while it cleans.

You may know, I have a few other automatic floor cleaners, but I have to say, The Mint+ is my favorite!  I first tested the Mint on my kitchen tile, using the dry sweep mode.  The microfiber cloth was super easy to attach to the cleaning pad and with the push of a button the Mint started its business. (I love that I can use the microfiber cloth or I can use disposable Swiffer pads).  I left it alone while I ate a cupcake did other housework. I kept checking on it, because I couldn’t hear it, I thought it was stuck and had turned off.  I finally left it alone and when I checked on it a little later, the Mint was done.  Being that the mint is not a vacuum, I wondered how well it would do……. Well, the proof was in the microfiber cloth, it was filthy!  It was a little shocking to see how filthy my floor was!

Mopping with The Mint Cleaner TidyMom

I then dampened the mopping cloth and used the  Pro-Clean Reservoir Pad and had the Mint mop the same floor.  Again, I was surprised by how dirty the cloth was when it was finished!

The big shock came, when I ran it in our family room, with laminate floors.  The Mint is small and goes under all the furniture, so it catches all the lose dog hair and dust bunnies.  I love that I don’t have to move the furniture any more to clean under it.

You can click here to see the Mint in action at my house.  It’s a 6 second video clip I made and shared on Vine recently.  Are you familiar with Vine? It’s basically a free smart phone app like Instagram, but in video. If you have a Twitter account, it will take just a few minutes to get on Vine.

What does The Mint Automatic Floor Cleaner Do?

It keeps dust and pet hair under control for you.  Designed exclusively for hard surface floors, Mint Plus sweeps and mops using dry and pre-moistened cleaning cloths.

Guided by the enhanced NorthStar® Navigation System 2.0, Mint Plus cleans methodically by moving back and forth across open areas in straight lines, working around furniture and rugs, and cleaning along baseboards. Mint Plus’s compact design gets into tight spaces, under furniture and into other areas that are hard to reach with traditional mops and sweepers.

Some of my favorite features of the Mint Plus Floor Cleaner

  • Sweeps and Mops: In Sweep mode, Mint Plus uses dry cleaning cloths to pick up dust, dirt and hair, keeping your floors barefoot-friendly every day. In Mop mode, Mint Plus uses wet (or pre-moistened) cloths and a special mopping action to pick up the deeper dirt and grime
  • Whisper Quiet:  you can work , carry on phone conversations or even sleep while the Mint cleans.
  • Fast charging: charges in 4 hour, or turbo charge in 2 hours with the charging cradle
  • Easy to use: Simply attach a cleaning cloth, set Mint Plus down and press either the Sweep or Mop button
  • Able to clean larger or multiple rooms in a single cleaning cycle, covering up to 350 square feet mopping and 1,000 square feet sweeping (2,000 with an additional NorthStar® Navigation Cube).
  • Cleans where vacuums can’t:  Because of its small size (only 9.6 x 8.5 x 3.1 inches), Mint Plus can get under sofas, beds, tables, and work in tight corners where large vacuums can’t.

The Mint Plus Automatic Floor Cleaner includes the Mint Plus Cleaner, NorthStar Navigation Cube with 2 C batteries, charger, 3 pack of cleaning cloths (2 dry sweeping cloths and 1 wet mopping cloth), and a Manufacturer’s 1-year limited warranty.  Mint works with both disposable cleaning cloths and re-usable microfiber cloths for dry sweeping and wet mopping floors.

If you have pets and hard floors…………YOU NEED THE MINT PLUS!  I use it every day, and wake up to clean floors!  With a busy life, this is a MUST HAVE!  I love that my floors are always clean!

I would love to win the Mint Plus Automatic Floor Cleaner! I have a 5 month old, and I haven’t cleaned my hardwood floors in 6 months! Dry mopped, yes, but cleaned? no. Ewwww! Need to get that rectified before the baby starts crawling!

I have been thinking about these robotic cleaners for a while now. I used to own a Rumba and it wore out from doing my large hardwood floor area with two dogs and a cat. Now I’m worn out from doing my large hardwood floor area. It’s time!

With a little one who loves to lick (yes, lick) the floors, I am on my hands and knees mopping almost every day. It makes me thankful for our small home, but it sure would be nice to have a “stand in” once in a while!

I just love the idea of this. I have boys who I am always cleaning up after. One is special needs and gets crumbs and spills everywhere. This would help so much to clean up these little accidents when I am busy doing other things. Great giveaway…TY :)

I would be so thankful to win the Mint cleaner! In March of 2007 I fell, hitting the back of my head. Since then I haven’t been able to work. I struggle with dizziness and nausea. I can never get much cleaning done at a time. The whole downstairs is tile. If I get the floor swept, I physically can’t mop also. As you can imagine, I would love to be able to thoroughly clean the floor! (I also have a dog that sheds). And that’s why I would love to be considered to win the Mint!!

Working and commute we are gone 12 hrs a day. Once home we have a dog, 3 acres and a vegetable garden to maintain…not to mention meals, laundry and cleaning. Dinner is usually around 9pm or later. The MINT would make our lives just a bit less hectic. Coming home to see a clean floor would be wonderful instead of that dreaded feeling of one more thing I need to do. Thanks for this awesome give away!!!
