A Parent’s Promise: I’m Lovin’ It

Being a parent isn’t always easy.  I hope and pray that one day our kids understand why we’ve done what we’ve done, said what we’ve said, and why we’ve even been hard on them at times.

So, when I saw this poster at JoelFelix.com I knew I needed to have it!

For now, I have it hanging in my office, but I plan to make a new picture wall in our family room some time, and I will incorporate it in there.

Parents Promise hanging

The 6″ x 23″ silk-screened poster comes in pink or teal, and is a steal for $20.  I think it would make a great baby gift for any new parents! Purchase at JoelFlix.com

I absolutely LOVE this quote and how beautiful it looks screen printed as a poster!

I love that sign. I am a big fan of it’s sayings. When mine complained I would just tell them they can whine about it on Oprah one day. Rules are rules. Love it.

I absolutely LOVE that sign and will definitely be ordering one. I agree with a previous comment, I think I would love it to hang somewhere to be seen by all who enter our home, possibly entryway/foyer. Thanks for hosting the party!

    Cheryl,
thanks so much for hosting! I’m so happy to be able to participate this week!
Love the sign! Boundaries need to be set in place early on, so that issues are prevented as our children grow. Each of my children have said at one time or another, “I hate you!” and knowing that it was only said out of anger, I am confident that I always took the correct steps to discipline instead of being their friend. It has definitely paid off now that they are well into their teenage years and just beyond since I couldn’t be happier or more proud of them and the choices they have made growing up.

When I first saw this saying on Pinterest I read it to my husband and we both agreed that it was just great and ordered not one but two of them, one for my daughter and son-in-law to give them once they have children and one to hang in our house. I hope you are having a wonderful time in New York!! We are heading out east tomorrow for a week of driving around and just looking at all the sites – I hope its not to hot :)

Cheryl – now that my oldest is in college, I have to say I don’t regret any of our tough talks during his high school years (we had many). Yes, it was painful, but so worth it. We, as parents, have such a limited time to teach our kids so much and I just pray and hope they will take what we teach them and apply it in some positive way in their daily life. My eldest just finished his first year in college and I was so happy that he felt reached out to us for advice and counsel throughout his freshman year, keeping the lines of communication open. I think the trust that we built during his high school years really helped, and hopefully one day, he will realize that we always had his best interest at heart.
