Sit back and enjoy summer with watermelon on a stick, recipes, coolers, cookies, popsicles, salsa and salad and more.
I think watermelon is one of nature’s most perfect foods! The luscious lime green and white rind with a juicy deep red inside….even the seeds are cute. Beautiful, perfectly sweet and juicy, that’s hard to beat!
This heavenly fruit is a summer icon and can be found in our fridge most of the season. I love to save time, by just cutting wedges and putting them on a stick for easy eating!
I think the day I first saw seedless watermelon at the store, my heart skipped a beat! As cute as those little black seeds are, they’re also so annoying! Spitting seed out is not lady like, and picking them out, well that just takes time. Either way, seeded or seedless, I’ll take it, as long as it’s sweet, ripe and cold.
If you’re like me, and have trouble picking out the best watermelon, my friend Sylvie has a great post on picking the perfect melon.

The only thing better than a slice of watermelon on a hot day is Watermelon Lime Sorbet, served in the rind! And by the looks on Shaina’s kid’s cute faces, I think they agree!!

Hey Cheryl,
Thanks for hosting! I linked up the shark towels I made for the kids this year for swim team. BTW, it was miserable and hot and an all day event. But we did go home empty handed our club team took 1st place and my son got 2 1st place medals! SO I guess all those early mornings and all that melting in the heat were worth it!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
HUGS~

I’m hosting a link party…”Fusion Fridays” {Open All Weekend!}
I would love it if you would come by on Friday and link up!
Cheryl, these are such fun ideas. I would have never thought to jam a stick into the rind of the watermelon to make it like a watermelon pop. Not sure how you do that without breaking the stick but I’ll have to try that.
I also love the watermelon sorbet in the watermelon rind. Actually all the watermelon recipes sound wonderful especially this time of year when the temperatures are soaring. Looking forward to trying many of these. What a fun post!
LOVE me some cold watermelon!
I like it sprinkled with course sea salt!
You make everything look so YUMMY!
Hugs for a HAPPY weekend my friend!

So many great ideas for watermelon – have you had the watermelon skewers at The Bazaar by Jose Andres – he uses a machine to compress the watermelon and tops it with tomato caviar?
OMG..this watermelon looks so refreshing right now. I love the slices on sticks…what a clever idea with the muffin cups to catch the drips…some people are so darn smart 😉 Bonefish Grill use to have a martini with a melon “pop” in it and I’d ordered them all the time…hmmmm Makes me want to make some of my own…lol Stay cool and have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for hosting Cheryl!

I love the sound watermelon makes when the knife makes the first cut.
How is seedless watermelon cultivated?
The seeds are part of the beautiful look of the fruit but my kids find it ‘heebie’ (grose).
Having fun at the linky party this week! Thanks for hosting Cheryl 😉
