I loved when my mom would make her dark chocolate cake, and she would add coffee to it. I don’t know the name but it was so good. She also would make a white cake and put holes and add jello, and it would make for a cool colored cake. All her cakes were from scratch.. I am not as creative, so I need a cookbook to follow.

The pavlova is my favorite, fresh raspberries, walnuts cake with my mother in the other, which is based on 100-year-old secret family recipe.
My Grandmother made a very good carrot cake. I have mastered her recipe and it is among my favorites. But my daughter introduced me to a Oreo Cookies and Cream Cake and it is so delicious. I usually don’t like left over cake but that one is just as good the next day as it is the first day.

I grew up in the Deep South, in Georgia. We would go to our church revivals and every time my family or someone in the church would make the best 12-15 chocolate layer cake. It was, and still is, my most favorite cake. 🙂

My favorite cake is a three layer coconut cream cake I make with a coconut whipped cream frosting. I make it every year for my birthday.
