There’s nothing worse than a picture with bad lighting. And if you’re a blogger, you know the drill…..NATURAL light is BEST.….Don’t use your flash! We hear it over and over again.
But what’s a blogger to do this time of year?
You’ve got this great dinner recipe you’re dying to share with your readers. But by the time you prepare dinner (and make your family wait while you photograph it) all the good light is gone.
If you have a dSLR camera, you have a few choices; use a tripod, and super low shutter speed and hope for the best, use the dreaded on camera flash (yuck), or spend some dough on a speedlight, ego lights or some other sort of studio lighting.
But I recently came across a fantastic little gem! It’s genius really………
It slides easily over your camera’s hot shoe and redirects your pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall.
Lightscoop® is a smart low-tech device that creates soft, flattering light by redirecting your camera’s pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall.
The Lightscoop is a fantastic affordable alternative to an external flash. No more red eye and overexposed faces from using the pop-up on camera flash. You get portability, simplicity and affordability, at just $29.95.
Take a look at these shots I took of my daughter one evening in my office. (all shots are straight out of camera)
See how much warmer and more natural the picture on the right is? I am totally impressed with quality and dimension achieved byt the Lightscoop!
Here’s another example with some goodies we made one day ……..I’m shooting with a large window to the left, but it was a dark and rainy day. So after the first few shots I realized I just wasn’t going to have enough light (and I didn’t like my props lol)…..the shot on the right was taken using my Lightscoop! much better!

Checked out the website and it looks like it would totally improve my night shots, which right now don’t happen! Glad you did a food comparison photo too, thanks!
I visited Lightscoops website. I think this would be great. I’m just starting out with photography and have been looking for an external flash. This is more up my price range. If I win it GREAT if I don’t I will be purchasing it. Thanks for sharing.

Not for me (I don’t currently own a camera), but for my photo-bug daughter… She has a great eye, and is improving her shots all the time… Living in dark and dreary Oregon, I think this tool would be a great help to her
I would use lightscoop to help my photos I don’t like to use the flash, but sometimes it is a must and things just do not look as good – This is a great idea and not at an outrageous price!
This would be a great gadget for me. I’m new to photography and am now seeing how the flash isn’t always good. Our lighting in our military house is umm….not so good. haha! Nice gadget. Thanks for sharing! Great giveaway.

I saw these on another blog I follow about a week ago and fell in love! Working full-time right now means I get home after the sun has gone down, leaving my photos difficult to capture. Plus, my sister’s house, where we are living right now, doesn’t have a ton of natural light opportunities. I am drooling over one of these and would love to have one!
I like TidyMom on Facebook! 🙂 (Have for awhile!)
Light Scoop would be great. I have a hard time getting good pics.
That would be fantastic to have for my pictures. I can’t stand the half circle of the funny shadows.

I would love to have this for many reasons. Besides my love of photography, I more recently started my own blog (readingcraftingbaking.blogspot.com) and this would come in handy when photographing what I’ve made. I am also in the process of setting up an etsy shop and I am having a heck of a time taking pictures I’m happy with, ones that show the colors in the fabric or yarn that I’m using. I’d like to go outside, but with all the snow and ice, it just isn’t feasible right now.
Thanks!
This sounds awesome! I would love to try it out and be able to take better photos.
Amazing product! I think it would greatly help me cut down on the time it takes me to process pictures where there is a problem with the lighting. Fantastic giveaway thank you for the chance to win!

The Light Scoop would really help to create pictures that I can use for the blog I have recently created! The higher the quality the photo, the more details that are seen…the Light Scoop can help do that!
Hello Cheryl,
I’m just popping in to say that I finally tried your recipe for Pumpkin Pudding Parfaits and blogged about them over here:
http://what-i-wanna-be.blogspot.com
I forgot the original recipe but just now found it in my bookmarks. Can’t wait to try YOUR recipe sometime!
and I want to do the soup-a-thon with you all too;-)
I would love to have one because I live in NE Ohio where it’s gray & cloudy from Nov-Mar and there is no such thing as natural “light” for many months. This would help me take pictures of my cards. Thanks for the chance to win.
I visited their site!! Very cool! I really NEED one!!

OMG! This would help me SO much when I deliver a wedding cake to a church or venue. The lights are always off and there is NO natural lighting. I think the Light scoop would give me much better pictures! What a wonderful idea!!
