There’s nothing worse than a picture with bad lighting. And if you’re a blogger, you know the drill…..NATURAL light is BEST.….Don’t use your flash! We hear it over and over again.
But what’s a blogger to do this time of year?
You’ve got this great dinner recipe you’re dying to share with your readers. But by the time you prepare dinner (and make your family wait while you photograph it) all the good light is gone.
If you have a dSLR camera, you have a few choices; use a tripod, and super low shutter speed and hope for the best, use the dreaded on camera flash (yuck), or spend some dough on a speedlight, ego lights or some other sort of studio lighting.
But I recently came across a fantastic little gem! It’s genius really………
It slides easily over your camera’s hot shoe and redirects your pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall.
Lightscoop® is a smart low-tech device that creates soft, flattering light by redirecting your camera’s pop-up flash to a ceiling or wall.
The Lightscoop is a fantastic affordable alternative to an external flash. No more red eye and overexposed faces from using the pop-up on camera flash. You get portability, simplicity and affordability, at just $29.95.
Take a look at these shots I took of my daughter one evening in my office. (all shots are straight out of camera)
See how much warmer and more natural the picture on the right is? I am totally impressed with quality and dimension achieved byt the Lightscoop!
Here’s another example with some goodies we made one day ……..I’m shooting with a large window to the left, but it was a dark and rainy day. So after the first few shots I realized I just wasn’t going to have enough light (and I didn’t like my props lol)…..the shot on the right was taken using my Lightscoop! much better!

I have been recently thinking about starting a small blog of the meals I make during the week. I enjoy reading your blog and the recipes! So….after seeing your pictures (before and after) this would make a great addition to my camera and would help with the posting of my food pictures!!! Great giveaway!!!
I would love to have this to take pics of my 2 beautiful daughters. I’m a new owner of a “professional” camera but don’t know how to use it quite well enough. This would help make those photos a little bit better and worth making my wall gallery.
I would totally use this to “beautify” the pics of my 2 gorgeous daughters – thus allowing me to have that gallery wall I’ve dreamed about.

While I’m fortunate to be able to shoot outdoors often, when I need to capture something indoors, I am not set up for that and it shows! The Lightscoop site looks great, informative, and best yet, sharing a great product to allow me to work during daylight hours or into the wee ones! :>

The Lightscoop looks fantastic! I would use it to make my indoor photography better. It looks like a great way to practice using other surfaces as a reflector.

Owning a LightScoop would be wonderful. My husband will be deploying shortly and this will help me take great pics. of our two young boys. I’ve got my fingers crossed!!
A lightscoop would help me SOOO much doing pictures inside, I get so aggrivated trying to get nice pictures without using my pop up flash.
Thanks so much, LOVE your blog
Would love to have it to improve my indoor photography, have such issues with lighting & that pop up flash !!!!
What a great give-away! Oh, how I could use this!
I want to shine light on my #photography with @Lightscoop & @TidyMom http://ow.ly/3Q2OH #giveaway
Owning a Light Scoop would help me improved the quality of my photography in low-light situations. I hate the harsh glare that the built-in flash gives and it’s not in my budget, at the moment, to buy more expensive lighting options. The Light Scoop looks like the perfect solutions!!

Just “LIKED” Lightscoop on Facebook. Hope I win. :~)
I would use the Lightscoop when taking pics of my girls when indoors. I confess, I take way too many pictures of my children. But it’s because digital is SO easy and because I want to take multiple shots in order to not get those ackward shadows. I want to win the Light Scoop!
I “liked” you on facebook for an extra chance to win the Light Scoop!

Oh my goodness, how I would love this!!!! Right now my husband and I are living in a relatively small apartment, and the light is not ideal…natural or artificial!!! It has been such a downer this winter to attempt food photography with the awful lighting: they turn out yellow or a little too dark…this would make my life so amazing!!!

I joined Lightscoop on Facebook, and I left a message on their wall!
This would help soo much. I barely have any lights in my apartment to begin with. My awful flash is a must sometimes. boo to that!
How cool is that?! I would love to get one and use it for those dreaded flash pictures inside the house. It would save me from having to buy a big flash unit for several hundred dollars!
Oh my this would be great for my modeling pictures for my little girl.
