I got some really great gifts for Christmas this year and I can’t wait to share some of them with you over the next few weeks.
Back in October I went to Dallas for the I Heart Faces Conference and my good friend Amy picked me up from the airport. After a quick hug, the first thing I noticed was the stylish and inspiring wrap bracelet she was wearing.
As soon as I got home, I had to look it up and was even MORE impressed by the company that makes the bracelet, Good Work(s) Make a Difference ®.
Created by momprenuer Helena Cho, each colorful bracelet is embossed with a number of uplifting and motivating phases such as “forgive,” “strength,” be aware,” “faith,” “freedom,” “accept diversity.”
But, here’s the best part…… Good Work(s) is a brand with a purpose ..…not only do these bracelets make you look and feel good, but, by purchasing one you are helping to do good! 25% of the net profits go to good causes. By helping those in need, Good Work(s) is able to send girls to the prom who couldn’t afford their dresses and help children through college when their mom has passed away from breast cancer. In 2012 Good Work(s) had a goal is to move 120 homeless families off the streets and into furnished homes in their “Home Sweeter Home for the Homeless” campaign. As soon as I laid my eyes on my Amy’s bracelet, I knew I had to have one but after reading about this celebrity loved fashion, I wanted one even more. So, I sent the link to the Silver Come Together Metallic Bracelet to my daughter with the subject line “Santa gift”;)
I love mine so much, I would love to give 2 TidyMom readers the Happy Days Wrap Around Bracelet, winner can pick the color.

I went with my step-grandma to help go get my step-sister’s other grandma from one hospital and take her to another one when the weather and roads were bad.
My family & I made 6 Operation Christmas Child boxes this year & we also helped with Thanksgiving dinner at a local boys home.
I picked up a bunch of shifts for my friend who is taking care of her mother who is passing away so she can be with her. They’re overnight shifts and I will be so tired, but I know she’d do the same for me 🙂
I cooked dinner for family members that were sick over the holidays. We were hoping that they would feel better so we could spend some time with them, but were glad we could at least let them know we were thinking about them!
I am inspired by reading the other comments,,I am a thoughtful person, but I will be more in-tuned with the needs of others..starting TODAY.
My husband and I share dinner once a week with an elderly neighbor
It may be a simple thing, but I love to feed my loved ones, whether it’s dinner just because or a batch of cookies, that’s my favorite way to show I care.
My mom is going through her 6th recurrence of metastatic breast cancer that has moved to her bones. I routinely make and bring her dinner so my dad doesn’t have to shoulder everything, and they enjoy my cooking so much!
I can’t help but give to people who are soliciting. I gave money to a dad and 4 kids who had run out of fuel and needed gas money. Someone with me was pretty negative and said how talented people like that are because they can get a lot of money in a short amount of time. I feel like I did my part and what they do with the money isn’t up to me. I gave it to them and it is now theirs to do with what they want.
For 2013 I am doing the pay-it-forward thing. Making personalized gifts and just sending them to random friends with handwritten notes. Would love an inspirational bracelet like this!
I go to my mother’s every Friday and wash and fix her hair for her.
My cousin is one of the most selfless people I know. She is currently doing a 28 Random Acts of Kindness mission in memory of the Sandy Hook victims. So far she has put together “Get Warm” bags for the homeless shelter in her town (includes socks, hat, snacks and a Bible Verse), collected carts at her local Sam’s Club, given her trash man a cup of hot chocolate, moved back the neighbor’s trash cans after pick-up, and sent a big box of new school supplies for teachers/students at Sandy Hook. She is also in the process of helping out a 6th grade student in gathering supplies for the animal shelter. She does all this not for recognition but just for the pure joy of helping others. She has such a good heart and is totally deserving of this bracelet!
Thanks for sharing the company’s story with us and also, thanks for giving everyone the opportunity to get a well deserved atta’ girl (or guy)!
Those bracelets are Fabulous! Happy New Year Cheryl!
I try to always be mindful of opportunities to do little random acts of kindness. Giving $3 to the person behind me in line at Starbucks. Leaving coupons for items I don’t use on the shelves in the store. Holding the door open!! Giving a bottle of water to a Salvation Army bell ringer. Smiling at people!
I cooked food for a family who recently lost a loved one and took it to them. Thank you for the giveaway!
I volunteer daily for a Military Support group. We honor our fallen with flag lines and escorts, escort wounded warriors and active duty military coming home from war zones and many other activities that show support to our Heroes. I have two children who are active duty and I volunteer my time in honor of their service and bravery. It’s such a privilege to honor those who sacrifice for our freedoms. Thank you!
Cute bracelets! This Christmas, we purchased toys & received donated items for local children, so we wrapped them up & hopefully made some kids very happy!
I try to do something good every day. I guess the biggest “GOOD” thing that I did in my life for someone else was decide to bring my daughter to full term and raise her when I got pregnant unexpectedly. She received the beauty of life. The decision was the hardest I have ever made, but for her, I believe it was the best “Good” thing that I could have done.
Treated my mom to coffee. 🙂
These bracelets (and cause behind them) are beautiful. Recently in the drive thru line at McDonald’s one morning getting coffee, I noticed the women behind me had a scowl on her face…maybe it hadn’t been a good morning, I thought. So at the window to pay, I asked to pay for her order, too. When at the next window getting my food I looked back and saw the scowl lift into a HUGE smile as she looked my way and gave a small wave. Hoping it made her day — it sure made mine.
Missions is BIG part of my life. I assist with the NC Baptist Disaster Relief. Also, several years ago I took 4 children into my home for 3 months. Their father died suddenly and Mom was not in their lives and no family in this state. They will always be a blessing in my life!
We pick as many “angels” off the tree for underprivileged children that we can during Christmas. Hopefully we are making them happy at Christmas time! (:
We donated to local families and veterans in need
I like to pay for the person behind me at a toll booth. It’s just a great feeling and probably a surprise for them.
Chauffeured my sister around for a month when she couldn’t drive.
My husband and I bought toys for kids to have in the inner city, plus games for older kids because they always seem to get left out. I hope they had a great Christmas.
Thanks for the awesome party and giveaway! 🙂 Happy Weekend!!
This fall we bought school supplies for a family with five children, and then right before Christmas we gave them “extras” for stocking stuffers to give the kids some new supplies for the new year starting. It wasn’t much but for a family whose kids would have gone to school without.
We recently organized an event where we collected, wrapped and delivered Christmas gifts to a local shelter.
For the past several weeks our 10 yr. old son has been in the hospital and not home this holiday season. It was hard on Christmas morning without him here. We noticed that several other children at the hospital didn’t have visitors so my husband and I went and bought gifts for the other children so that they would have something to open on Christmas. It made us both smile Christmas afternoon seeing several kids wearing some of the gifts we had donated and how happy they were :).
I love doing things to brighten someones day. My thing I’ve been doing lately is making glass block lights with mini twinkle lights inside and decals on the outside. It makes lovely little night lights. I also enjoy making some type of piece of jewelry to give to someone to thank them for what they may do for others, even if it is not just for me.
This year I donated 3 toys to the Toys for Military Tots in our area. I feel it is very important that we support our troops in every way we can.
I love the bracelets … I’m going to go check out the website right now. Love your blog. Thanks!!
I loooooooove them 🙂
The best thing we did for Christmas for someone was giving a bicycle to our sponsored child in Africa so she can use it for transportation.
I bought my co-worker lunch today… Just because she’s a sweet lady! 🙂
We donated food to an organization that provides meals to the homeless.
I made a giant stack of pillow cases for children with cancer and to honor the children of Sandy Hook. I have also had an exchange student with us since before Christmas because their travel visa would not permit their travel home and the dorms were closed.
Today I am delivering a gently used loveseat to a man in need. Love these bracelets, thanks for sharing~
I help my 90 year old aunt all that I can.
I brought brownies to work the other day, it’s hard to get back to the grind so hopefully everyone felt a little lifted at work! 🙂
I’ve been paying it forward since Christmas…paying for the person behind us in the drive-thru lines at Starbucks, etc. & my sister have signed up for 5K Runs to benefit cancer-based charities!
me and my family shoveled out our elderly neighbor’s drive and sidewalks this week.
My husband has been sick for several years and I do whatever I can to make his life bearable everyday!
Awesome bracelets, Thank you for letting me know about these! I think I’ll order some! I try to do something good daily. I try to pay for peoples food behind me in the drive thru lines often. My 4 year old daughter and I try and serve together every month. So far we’ve fed the homeless and we look to visit the nursing home in the coming month. We love giving gifts to people. I try to do something for someone daily if not often. Thanks for the giveaway!
You know, I went to go comment for these adorable bracelets and then I realized..what HAVE I done? Sure, I’m a mom, I take care of my family, adopt animals, give to charities, I stop and say hi to family members, send Christmas cards, bring food to work, but what have I REALLY done? And it occured to me that in all reality, I haven’t really done anything. My dad ended up in the ICU this last year. After not speaking to my family for a year, I dropped everything and drove straight to Columbus and stayed for 2 days without leaving the hospital. But is that doing something for someone? I don’t have anything to share here, in my opinion, but I wanted to say thank you, Tidy Mom, for bringing this to my attention. I’m going to start focusing more on what I can do for others.
I volunteer 2 days a week to cover the office of Mirror Image Ministries. We have a transitional women’s home where we can house up to 6 women. There is no cost to the women and they can live there for a year as they transition back into society. There are house parents who help the girls learn how to manage a home, plan healthy menus and learn how to take care of and manage a budget. The ministry also does an Annual Thanksgiving Dinner open to the communtiy at no cost so that no one is alone on Thanksgiving. We also deliver Thanksgiving meals to those that are not able to leave their homes. This past year I had the piviledge and honor to organize and gather contributions from local merchants and residents of our fair city. We are also a resource center for the community and work to get individuals to the right place for help they may need. God is so good and has tremendously blessed this ministry as we spread the good news of His Son.
I made christmas cookies for kids
My step daughter is an alcholic. She fell off the wagon. We took on the responsibility of my two granddaughters til their dad could help and their mom could get into rehad.
Love the bracelets! So pretty and what a great cause. I took my friend’s son to his physical therapy appointment because she had to go out of town to her dad’s funeral.
My husband had the flu yesterday, so I made him come home from work and go to bed. I made him soup, took his temp, and gave him medicine with the help of my 2 and 5 year old girls. Through sickness and in health!!
