I got some really great gifts for Christmas this year and I can’t wait to share some of them with you over the next few weeks.
Back in October I went to Dallas for the I Heart Faces Conference and my good friend Amy picked me up from the airport. After a quick hug, the first thing I noticed was the stylish and inspiring wrap bracelet she was wearing.
As soon as I got home, I had to look it up and was even MORE impressed by the company that makes the bracelet, Good Work(s) Make a Difference ®.
Created by momprenuer Helena Cho, each colorful bracelet is embossed with a number of uplifting and motivating phases such as “forgive,” “strength,” be aware,” “faith,” “freedom,” “accept diversity.”
But, here’s the best part…… Good Work(s) is a brand with a purpose ..…not only do these bracelets make you look and feel good, but, by purchasing one you are helping to do good! 25% of the net profits go to good causes. By helping those in need, Good Work(s) is able to send girls to the prom who couldn’t afford their dresses and help children through college when their mom has passed away from breast cancer. In 2012 Good Work(s) had a goal is to move 120 homeless families off the streets and into furnished homes in their “Home Sweeter Home for the Homeless” campaign. As soon as I laid my eyes on my Amy’s bracelet, I knew I had to have one but after reading about this celebrity loved fashion, I wanted one even more. So, I sent the link to the Silver Come Together Metallic Bracelet to my daughter with the subject line “Santa gift”;)
I love mine so much, I would love to give 2 TidyMom readers the Happy Days Wrap Around Bracelet, winner can pick the color.

As a family we donate our clothes, coats or gently used toys to families in need. We also enjoy helping the neighbors shovel their walks and just spending time with those who need it. I would live a bracelet! Great company!!
I love these and love the idea of being reminded to live your best life. In the past six months I have volunteered at our local VA and helped clean and renovate a house that belongs to an older couple who couldn’t do this for themselves. I am currently working on putting together a support group for women to help them be more empowered.
Great idea! I’m on my sixth year of volunteering for a program that works hard to keep teenagers engaged in learning via a hands-on project so that they stay in school and learn real-world skills.
i gave a woman that had a family of 6 kids a full decorated tree and stockings and a big goody bag. i knew her personally and she was down on her dumps this year and since i know i could make this holiday season a little less stressful for her family i was glad to help out. the looks on there faces was pleasing enough to last a life time 🙂
I was in line at Starbucks and someone bought my coffe for me. I was so touched by that that I paid for the car behind me. I love the bracelets!
I gave a stranger an extra $10 gift card coupon at Target – – I could tell she thought I was some kind of whacko when I first approached her, but then she was thrilled. I only hope she paid it forward to someone else.
I strongly believe in Paying it Forward. This year I’ve donated two sets of Bearpaw boots to a kindhearted woman struggling to make ends meet and a young lady confined to a wheelchair with a cerebral palsy. When their faces lit up with joy and surprise, that warmed my heart. I loved giving them comfortable boots that I knew they were not able to afford.
I love the purple and pink bracelets!
My husband & I came to the rescue of our neighbor on New Year’s Eve…on her way home in a 1 hour commute, she found that her babysitter was threatening the life of her child. My phone rang, we paid our dinner bill and we shot across town to get her daughter out of the apartment and safe. That was a different New Year’s Eve for sure. Happy to report that everyone was safe and sound!
A friend with three kids has been fighting a terrible breast cancer battle. She has had chemotherapy, surgery, and reconstruction surgery. On one breast the reconstruction did not work. She had to go in and have it fixed and prepped for a later surgery after radiation. So I took her and her family dinner. Herb crusted pork tenderloin smoked, mashed potato casserole, baked beans, roasted vegetables, sister Schubert rolls with cinnamon butterhomemade toffee, and cheese cake sopapilla! They are the sweetest family. So humble and grateful.
I just stepped up to lead our moms’ group tomorrow as the leader has to go out of town due to a death in the family. I was glad to take this offer her plate so she could focus on her family, travel plans, etc. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I recently donated our surplus blankets, coats, pillows, etc to a new homeless shelter that just opened here in town. We also gave a family our old Christmas tree and several boxes of ornaments because they wouldn’t have otherwise been able to get a tree.
I volunteer with an organization that sets up volunteers as penpals for incarcerated youth. I’ve been writing to a young girl for almost a year now.
I helped my lifelong friend move, in the freezing rain, for the 5th time in 4 years. I want this bracelet for her, she would love it.
I played secret santa to a co worker who was really depressed right before Christmas. She had no idea it was me until the last day she caught me! I had a blast and shes still talking about it!
I love doing random nice acts to strangers… I like to give them compliments when they list expected. I just LOVE the glowing smile they give after a sweet compliment.
I regularly keep in touch with missionaries serving in my area. We currently have six sister missionaries and I was able to make a small gift bag of items for each for Christmas as well as some baked goods. They have even given me a nickname…. as I am always carrying around an extra treat in my purse and backpack as I am about town on the bus… so when I see any missionaries I have a treat to share.
My good deeds is more about my dog…he’s a therapy dog and we visit those in hospital, nursing homes etc. he brings calm and peace to all those he spends time with
I’m on the rape crisis helpline every Friday – so I’ll be there to listen for two hours tonight.
In Chicago last week we were paying a toll at the toll booth and paid for the person behind us. Just because. Those bracelets are gorgeous!!!
love the bracelets and the idea behind them. we as a family try to do good when we can. . .one of our favorite things to do it take the mailman or garbage man a warm drink on a cold day, or something chilly when it is hot
With recent snowfall in my area, I’ve gone out to help shovel driveways and sidewalks for my neighbors =)
i love it when i can pay it forward. i think my favorite is bringing a new mama several meals. not just one, i did that in dec = 4 meals & 2 desserts. 😉
we gave 2 guys we saw on Christmas Eve standing on corners – $20 each.
I like to give a Happy Meal to the poor kids that are always around the McDonald’s that I stop at regularly. It’s amazing to see their eyes light up when they actually have a full belly.
Our church did “RAK” the whole month of December. We were given cards with an explanation of who we are and what the purpose was, and asked to do “RAK”. I left a $1 bill at the local Dollar General inside a Christmas card attached at the candy aisle, as well as bought breakfast for the car behind me in the DQ drive thru. It feels wonderful to do something for someone that will never really know who did that for them! I hope it inspires my children to do the same! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!
Took my little sister to work since my mom wasn’t feeling well!
I made a foot scrub and body scrub for a tired, cranky, pregnant friend to help her feel pampered.
I won a gift card. And i gave it to a co-worker who needed it for christmas presents.
I try and pay it forward as ofter as I can. Just recently I helped get gifts for a family who couldn’t afford them over Christmas. I also love bringing people baked goods. I love baking and knowing that I’ve made someone’s day just a little bit better is the best feeling!!
I help care for my brother’s kids.
I recently bought lunch for a homeless family that was asking for help near our local Costco. Thanks for the great giveaway!! 🙂
I was recently having a hard day and went through a mcd’s where someone did a pay it forward at a time when I needed it most. { thank you wherever you are!} after that, I won a contest and asked if I could pay forward one of the things that I won and the lady said yes! 🙂 { many thanks to her for that!} .
there’s my story. it pays to pay it forward.
My family and I were at Hershey Park over the holidays to see their light display and Santa’s reindeer. We gave some pre-paid tickets to a large family waiting in line to get in.
Thanks for sharing the bracelets — even if I don’t win I’m eyeing these for some upcoming birthday gifts!
I donated all of my baby things…crib, car seat, clothes, etc…to a shelter for homeless women with children. Feels good to know that someone who really needs them will get to enjoy them.
In October I just recently started my own knitting business, and for the Holidays I took donations of yarn and I have been knitting hats and scarves for the homeless as well as for the cancer patients at the cancer center my mom was treated at. Its exciting to be good at something, and even better to be able to help others with the gift I am good at!
At the grocery store the other day I paid $50.00 towards the older women’s grocery bill behind us in line!! A nice lesson for my children to see, especially around this time of year…..it is better to give than to receive!!
What a great giveaway! Off to check out this company for myself!
I don’t ever give money to people on street corners, but I was pulled to do so the other day and gave him a $10 bill. I almost cried when I saw the look of gratitude on his face.
How wonderful to read all these comments!
I surprised a busy mom with a maid before she had to have several christmas functions at her house.
Earlier this year someone in our town lost her oldest son. 🙁 She posted before Christmas that she lost all of her Christmas decorations in storage to mold, including ones from when her sons were little. Made me so sad that she lost all of those treasures. It’s not much, but I went through all of my Christmas decorations and took her a bunch of things to use. I know it can’t replace the ones she lost, but it helped her still be able to celebrate the holidays. She was grateful and I was happy I could help in some way.
For Advent this year, every day our family did a kindness activity….taking muffins to the school janitor, leaving notes on people’s cars at the library, hiding $1 bills at the Dollar Store….it was a BLAST!
I would love to get these for my teens! Thanks for the review. One of the things that I did this past year was get a friend to run a 5k with me. I needed a buddy and she needed someone to give her a push. We can’t wait to run more together this year!
Love these bracelets! I’m the “Room Mom” for 22 sweet little kindergardeners!
I like to help others in any way I can. Paying it forward is a way of life. God gives us things so that we can give others and the cycle grows! I am involved with many outreach events through church, I lead a GS group, my door is always open to watch kids, or listen to a friend in need. I never sell our clothes but donate them as well as our stuffed animal surplus. I think it is important to look for ways to help others and the greatest reward is when they do not even know it was you.
I have torn up a lot of the daycare bills I sent out in 2012 due to the bad economy.
Went through drive thru to get a drink, person in front of me paid for mine and I in turn paid for car behind me….it was nice..
Right before Christmas i was doing my Christmas grocery shopping and the older lady in front of me in line had a buggy full to unload so i kindly asked if i could help her and little did i know but she had just had knee replacement surgery and it was her first outing since and was in some pain so she greatly appreciated my kindness I may not have money to give but i can always give a helping hand, we all can..
I really have a hard time with this as I prefer the things I do for others to be between God and I . I belong to a group that makes quilts for people that need a hug from God for whatever reason-illness, in a nursing home, flood, – just to let them know that God cares.
I gave a giant bag of art supplies to a friend who volunteers to teach art to kids at a community center while their parents are at work on the weekends. I love that she makes it a priority to bring art into the lives of these kids, but she has to provide a lot of the supplies herself, so I made a giant bag full of watercolors and paper and pastels and everything else she could need. I would like to give a bracelet to her.
This is so true. Good works should be a habit, not something you really plan to do but you just do it automatically. Every time you see a need you try to help. One of my favorite good works has been working at our local food bank with my son. He must take the credit, he wanted to serve there when he was 10 & he had to have a parent work with him. I ended up staying on after he finished high school because I loved it so much.
We made baskets with fruit & baked goods to deliver the shut in over the holidays. The smiles upon their faces were priceless.
Cheryl, I JUST saw these bracelets at the mall yesterday and was so mad at myself for not getting one. They are awesome! Thanks for the chance to win one.
Whenever I know of a family dealing with illness or recent surgery, etc, I cook. I like to arrange meals for the family (with other members of our church) and make sure the family is taken care of with food. That is my “good thing”. Over Christmas another family was in need. It was great to take a meal and help out, especially this time of year.
