I’ve been craving fruit lately and needed an easy side dish to take to a BBQ.  Armed with a jar of slaw dressing in my refrigerator,  I thought I’d make a Fruit and Nut Slaw.  It’s a delicious twist on traditional cole slaw, by combining fresh fruits and crunchy nuts for a perfect blend of flavors. It’s simple, tasty, and perfect for summer meals!

How To Make Fruit and Nut Slaw

This coleslaw side dish is not only super easy to make, but you don’t have to slave over a stove or turn on your oven and up your house.  Plus your friends and family will love it!

  1. In a large serving bowl, add slaw dressing to all of the ingredients.
  2. Gently stir until well coated with dressing.
  3. Cover and chill for at least one hour before serving.

It doesn’t get any easier than that!!

Strawberries and mandarin oranges, dressed in a light slaw dressing with pecans and blue cheese, this fruit and nut slaw is a great summer side dish.


  • 1 cup slaw dressing
  • 1 pound shredded cabbage (or slaw mix)
  • 1 quart strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes, sliced
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 to 1 cup blue cheese


  1. Using a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, strawberries,oranges. grapes, pecans and blue cheese.
  2. Add Marzetti Slaw Dressing and gently stir until all ingredients are well coated with dressing.
  3. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or up to 8 hours.



Can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days. Just note the nuts may turn soft, but will still taste good.
