Hello again, TidyMom fans! I’m Kellie from Nest of Posies & I’m back today sharing a really fun post if you have young kids! So get ready for an epic tail!
Think Super Heroes, super friends, good deeds & coming to the rescue for anyone in need! Yes, we’re talking about the Super Buddies coming to BluRay combo pack on August 27th! This post is brought to you by Blueprint Social & Disney for a fun DIY idea to make Super Hero Masks! You know Disney movies are so fun for the kids, and they always have a great message! My kids absolutely love the Super Buddies! So I thought it would be fun to make them their very own Super Hero Mask!
Here’s what you’ll need to make the Superhero Masks:
- generic masks from the craft store
- scrap fabric & trim
- hot glue or Mod Podge (either one or both will work)
- decorative trim & beads
- stickers or a silhouette machine (if so desired, but not necessary)
I cut my fabric a little bigger than each mask, then applied Mod Podge on top of the mask & lightly over the fabric & let it dry over night. (You could also use hot glue for this step. I just thought using Mod Podge would toughen the fabric for multiple Superhero uses.) 😉 From start to finish the masks took about 15 minutes each to assemble. Not counting the drying time over night. So it really is an easy project to make for the kids!
The next day, after the Mod Podge was dry, I used hot glue around the trim & eyes to form the fabric around the mask. Next apply your trim & beading with hot glue. I happen to have a silhouette machine, and they have a cute “Super Hero” image & lighting bolts to download all in one set, so I used that set as well for the gold mask.
My kids have been talking about Super Buddies ever since we watched the DVD recently! They love it & they’re getting old enough to enjoy the fun humor in the movie. Super Buddies has a great message for us all, to do good for good and not for glory. It truly is a great family movie!
I had the Superhero masks ready for them when they came home from school. So it was a fun surprise for them to play with for a while after school. It didn’t take them long at all to get into character & get our dog involved!
