Create a simple and festive tinsel wreath for the holidays in under 15 minutes with just a few supplies and no glue!
I was in a crafty mood this week! I’m excited to decorate a new house for the holidays this year, so I’m eager for some new holiday decor! I was perusing Hobby Lobby the other day and spotted their Silver Tinsel Work Wreath and thought it would make a great base for a Holiday Tinsel Wreath I wanted to make. I was hoping I could attach a few items and not need any glue, since I could use the tinsel that was attached to the wreath like a twisty tie to help secure a few items…..and I was right! Worked like a charm!
I made this wreath in under 15 minutes!…….probably less than 10 minutes even………I bet you could even make it in five minutes if you work fast! 😉
Supplies for a DIY Tinsel Wreath
I picked up everything at Hobby Lobby, except the poinsettia is from Michaels.
16″ tinsel work wreath | bushy tinsel garland (I got this at hobby lobby and can not find it online, and the package does not say how long it is, I’m guess its probably about 6′) | wired ribbon | word ornament | 2 small floral picks | clip on poinsettia
Directions to make a Tinsel Wreath
Simply wrap the tinsel around the wreath form and secure both ends by tucking them between the wire sections of the wreath (use one the the tinsel pieces on the wreath to wrap and secure, if needed)
Tuck in 2 floral picks – find a piece of tinsel from the work wreath and use it like a twisty tie to secure pics to the wreath. Find another piece of tinsel attached to wreath form to hang ornament from (bend tinsel thru the ornament string and twist to secure)
Use the clip on poinsettia to attach to the wire work wreath form.
Add some pretty wired ribbon to hang your wreath and you’re done!!
See……I told you it was easy!! I spent more time writing this post than it took me to actually MAKE the wreath!!
Now I just need to decide where to hang it……..front door? over the fireplace? over my silver and gold vignette in the breakfast room?
Have you started decorating yet?……..for the first time ever, I actually have a little bit up already because I bought some new things the other day and couldn’t wait to see how it all looked on display!
