Cookie expert, and blogger Bridget Edwards guides you through more than 60 delicious cookie-decorating designs for every occasion and holiday in her book, Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday. Bridget shares her favorite cookie dough and royal icing recipes along with easy-to-follow instructions and step-by-step photos and for an added bonus, five guest-star baker-bloggers each share a special decorating technique in the back of the book!
Over the course of 4+ years since I started blogging, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some incredible people, and lucky enough to call some of them friends. Bridget, of Bake at 350 was the very first blogger I ever connected with.
It was over cookie decorating. I had fallen head over heals in love with her site and how she makes swinging a bag of royal icing over a cut out cookie look so simple.
I decided for Easter 2009 I was going to try decorating cookies with royal icing. I ran into a bit of trouble and shot off an email to Bridget while I was up to my ears in pink and green icing, squeeze bottles and tooth picks.
You know what happened?!……….she emailed me right back!! I’m pretty sure that night we emailed back and forth as Bridget walked me thru my first batch of decorated cookies!
That was the beginning of our friendship!
Now here we are 3 years later and Bridget has published her talents, Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday so she can help you! Just like she helped me!
I’ve had the honor of spending time with Bridget in person on a few occasions – you may remember she was the first blogger I ever met in person, when her sweet hubby surprised her with a trip to come see me!
Not only is she filled with creativity, but she oozes kindness, and class! Not to mention on heck of a sense of humor.
Don’t think this book is only for seasoned cookie decorators. Bridget’s knack for teaching cookie decorating is ideal for the beginner and seasoned cookie decorator. The nicely organized book is full of step by step cookie decorating instructions, including basic techniques to master (like Bridget’s favorite, the flat dot), a detailed section on equipment and supplies you will need, recipes and……my favorite part, a troubleshooting section!
See I told you, it’s just like having Bridget right with you while you work!
Click the picture to see some of the decorated cookies I’ve made over the last few years thanks to Bridget’s help.
I’m in awe at how talented Bridget and all the other cookie decorating ladies are. I often get frustrated that my cookies are perfect, but Bridget always reminds me that “other people will just see a beautiful cookie, not your mistakes” and “you can always eat your mistakes!” HA!
Look for Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday at your local bookstore, and online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. With the holidays fast approaching, this book would make a perfect addition to add to the gift shopping list!

Thanks so much for hosting Cheryl! Hope you had a fun Halloween!
So much talent in that book it’s amazing! Thanks for the party!
I have ALWAYS wanted to learn to decorate cookies but have never tried it. Over the years I have spent a fortune at cookie bouquet and other such stores, so would love to learn how to make them myself, and her book sounds like the perfect way to learn. Thanks for the giveaway!
Decorating cookies with royal icing is on my bucket list…so far I have been too scared to try them. Bridget makes it seem so easy…I would love to have her book and learn now to make them!!!
I’ve made them and I love them, but I’m not very confident with my decorating skills. I enjoy just making RI and letting my daughter have fun with it at Christmas time. I would love to do more cookies and feel good about them.
Thanks for the giveaway and great party!
I tweeted the example, but it was a bit too long. Had to delete the #giveaway. Thanks again!
I would love to learn how to decorate beautiful cookies like Bridget! The fanciest thing I have ever done to a cookie was to dip it in chocolate, not very impressive, but it tasted good.
Hi Cheryl! Hope you had a fun Halloween! Thank you for hosting and have a great weekend!
Yes I have decorated cookies before – it’s so much fun. I’d love to try some of the cookies in this book.
I want that book! It’s a work of art, for one. Two, I’m horrible at cookies and want to learn from the best. 🙂
I’ve done some very simple cookie decorating, but I’ve always wanted to learn the proper techniques for flooding and all the fancy stuff 🙂
I have tried once – it was NOT pretty
and I’ve been afraid to go back
I LOVE her site – and her cookies are to die for
she makes it look easy!
I’ve never tried decorating cookies *gasp* can you believe it? That’s why I’d love to win Bridget’s book, who wouldn’t want to make cookies as cute as these!! Laura 🙂
I do decorate cookies and would love having the book to get new ideas!
I’ve tried decorating cookies before and lets just say that I need all the help I can get. Would love to have this book to look through and try my hand at decorating cookies again.

I attempt to make decorated cookies for my friends and family. Although, they taste wonderful, I am not always as pleased with the decorating part. I “pin” and “follow” professional bakers and theirs always look so perfect. I’d love to win the book and try to accomplish so much more.
P.S. I pinned on Pinterest “ejm1012” and shared on FB!
Would love to try my hand at this. My cookies always look like a hot mess…
I love Bake at 350 , what a great giveaway!

I am not very good at decorating cookies. I need help. My icing is never correct I think.
Good Morning – I am actually trying to win this to give to my 14 year old grandson who has been learning on his own to bake, decorate and do whatever to cakes, cupcakes and cookies to eventually be like or as good as the Cake Boss. It would be such a great surprise to hand him this. Have a wonderful day –
Just found you site today and love it. I collect recipes [don’t always try them but got them if I ever need them] and your site is one I will surely keep in my favorites.
Keep up the good work and God bless
I try to decorate cookies but mine never look as lovely as the ones I see in “blogland”. I am excited that there are clear directions in the book and I would love to give decorating another try!
I’ve just started decorating with royal icing and am completely in LOVE!! This book would be a great tool for me!! Thanks for all the amazing giveaways you do!!
I’ve decorated a few cookies. They’ve all tasted really good, but I could use some more ideas. And practice! I would LOVE to win this book. It looks like she goes through each step and explains the process very clearly. This looks like a really awesome book that I want to own!
