In 1999 my wonderful, funny, sweet, loving sister-in-law, was diagnosed with breast cancer. In June 2000 the whole family walked with her to support her fight at the St. Louis Race for the Cure. By March 2001 at 49 years old, Bobbie lost her battle with breast cancer. Every year since our family continues to walk in her memory.
I recently found out about another campaign that is raising significant awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. The Company Store is teaming up with the Avon Foundation for Women and the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer through the Comfort Crusade! Together they are going to raise money that will help advance access to quality breast health care, research towards prevention and understanding metastatic breast cancer, and ultimately… find a cure!!
Since its launch in 2003, the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer has raised more than $500 million through the dedication of more than 192,000 participating women and men from across the country.

Luckily all the poking, prodding and finally a surgery that has kicked my behind all show no cancer. It seems to be all I’ve thought of the past year. I’ve had so many friends go through this and I’m glad to know it’s making progress yearly on treatment options.
I would choose a neutral color by the way.

My mother is a breast cancer surivor. Thank the lord she is still with us.
My grandma died from breast cancer.
I have had a neighbor that was diagnosed with breast cancer but not anyone in my family directly.
In my case, a good friend was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. They caught it early and she underwent surgery and radiation therapy, and she has not had a recurrence. My sister also had a scare, but hers turned out not to be cancer.
In addition, I used to work at a place where there was a rash of cases of cancer, including breast cancer, and some very good people died from it. They refused to look into it or declare it a cancer cluster, though. The irony is that it’s a genetic research facility that does some research on the causes of cancer. Guess they’re just concerned about other people, and not their own employees. Bah.
Hi! Thanks for a great giveaway. I would love a teal, blue comforter. I have had breast cancer. I had 3 surgeries just last summer. It impacted my life and my family life. I am in recovery. Its no where near 5 years but I am cancer free so far. Fingers crossed. I love your site, Tidy Mom. Thanks!
