The messiest moment that comes to mind is when I found my twin daughters in the bathtub “painting their toenails” (and their feet…and the bathtub…) with hot pink nail polish. What a mess! It took a few MONTHS to figure out what to get it off of the bathtub with…finally got it to come off with oven cleaner, by accident when I was cleaning my oven racks.
I actually wrote my story down a while ago…and posted it on my blog for this contest! It’s a doozy! http://strawberrymommycakes.com/2012/02/04/clorox-messy-moments-challenge/

The messiest moment that stays in my memory a food fight with my hubby and kids. It started so innocentlyI sprayed my hubby with whipped cream, he then got me back with throwing a couple of strawberries at me. My 4 year old wanting to get into the action handed me some sprinkles with a giggle. He then gave his daddy the nuts. Before we knew it we were all mashing icecream onto each other. Very fun…until we had to clean up the kitchen.
HAHA…….see now that’s a cute and fun messy moment!!
This is actually – I guess – my mom’s messy moment that we (my twin sister and I)created for her. We decided to color mom a picture one morning on her newly painted hallway wall. It was so pretty, all colors of the rainbow scribbled as high as we could reach all the way down to the baseboard. This all occurred while my mom was in the shower and my dad was at work. My mom, unfortunately did not think that our picture was as pretty as we thought it was. She had to repaint the hallway in the end and we got in enough trouble that we never wrote on a wall again. We are grown now with houses of our own, and looking back I can see why she was not so happy with our pretty picture!
oh no!!! I can just imagine how your mom felt! but I bet the two of you had so much fun! lol
I‘m sharing my messy moment for the chance to win prizes from TidyMom as part of Clorox’s Bleach It Away campaign. Kind of a clean messy moment, but in college, my roommates and I had no idea how to run a dishwasher! The first time we tried we had no idea that dish soap does not equal dishwasher detergent. The dishwasher made a few funny noises before slowly leaking out bubbles and water everywhere all over the floor!
oh no!!!………I’ve heard that can be such a HUGE mess of bubbles!

my DD making slushy poop in her diaper once we were out, which was actually a poop explosion what went through diapers, pants and carseat. 🙂
Oh no! those are the WORST!!! lol

My husband and I planned a small Thanksgiving feast for my aging father-in-law who can no longer handle the loud extended family members. Each holiday, we imagine that it may be his last, and since he loves turkey, it’s important that he is able to consume his beloved bird in peace. Typically, he eats and then asks to be driven home for his nap. Simple enough! Right?
The plan was for my husband to rise early, start the turkey, then I would get up mid-morning and begin the sides so that we could make it an early lunch with father-in-law, and then join my earsplitting family for dinner. I woke, bleary eyed and in need of a cup of caffeine, innocently strolled into the kitchen. My liquid jolt would have to wait, as my husband supplied a visual jolt. There, before my eyes, he kneeled by the oven cleaning up glass and dripping turkey juices, the turkey resting solidly on the oven rack. My husband had chosen a glass Pyrex dish to bake the bird and as the bird began to look a little parched, he poured a cool glass of water over the thirsty Tom. When the cool liquid hit the hot dish, it exploded with a bang! It was so loud; he assumed that the pop woke me, as it just happened! Tiny bits of glass resembling a smashed car window sprayed all over the oven and kitchen floor—along with the oozing juices and bits of meat covering my recently scoured appliance.
A big debate ensued: husband wanted to simply rinse the bird and put him back in the oven, while I wanted to toss the tom and bake some chicken breasts in hopes that Dad wouldn’t notice. We compromised, slicing off the top of the bird for turkey cutlets! It was a lovely meal and dad was none the wiser!
OMG I can just imagine the look on your face that morning!! So glad you were able to salvage the meal!
What a fun giveaway! I need to think of something to post about. We have a LOT of messy moments at our house!
Oh my!! How do I choose??? I have 4 kids, so the possibilities are endless! Hhhmmm, well I guess I would say the time my oldest daughter had the stomach bug. Yes, it’s gross. Aren’t the gross ones always the messiest?!?! :o) Well, she had a bad bug and threw up all over her bed (which just happens to be the top bunk of the bunk bed she shares with her younger brother! I quickly got her down and into the bathroom, but not before she threw up in her room, down the hallway, and all over my floor!! Go figure! Well, while Daddy is tending to his Princess, I go back into the kids room to survey the damage. Not only had she thrown up all over HER bed, but it leaked down onto her brothers bed!! The smell alone made him start to gag and next thing I know I have TWO puking kids!! Awesome!! Needless to say, that was a long night!! Fun times.
Oh yes……..the puking messes are always the worse!!
I’ll never forget the time when I was about 3-4 (before you had to wear seat belts) I was in the back seat of the car, leaning over my dad who was driving and threw up all over him not once but 2x before he could get me home!
I just *liked*Clorox on facebook!! :o)

When I was 6 years old my 9 year old sister and I were home alone. We decided we were going to bake oatmeal cookies and we were going to make them GREEN! We mixed up the dough and climbed into the cupboard to grab the green food dye, needless to say the bottle of green food dye (the bottles were glass back in the 70’s) slipped out of my hands and hit the shelf as it flew to the ground. Green food dye went EVERYWHERE in the dining room (where the panty was located, right off the kitchen) all over the walls, the shelves, and the orange shag carpet (hey, it was the 70’s!). We freaked out and grabbed the nearest soap, dish soap, and poured an entire bottle onto the carpet in hopes of getting out the green stain……now we had a sudsy, soapy, globby green mess that kept getting bigger and bigger as we tried (IN VAIN!) to get up the soap suds AND the green dye. Oh, it was horrible…..we were in full panic mode and the mess kept getting larger and larger….thankfully my mom was not too angry with us, I am sure she could see the pure panic and terror in our eyes as she discovered our mess, we thought she was seriously going to kill us….she never did get that mess up out of the carpet…I am sure she lost her security deposit on that apartment when we moved!!!! Sorry mom!!!!
oh no! green food color and orange shag carpet! lol…….I bet you all can laugh about that one now!

I recently had the messiest mom moment ever and Clorox saved the day. I have a 2 year old, a 1 year old and a 2 month old. A few weeks ago while I was feeding my baby my toddlers got busy. I thought they had gone to their room to play, like they usually do, but this day they went to the kitchen. They had poured a jar of syrup all over my kitchen floor and themselves. Then, when that fun was over, they got out my yeast. Now let me say, I don’t buy a little jar of yeast. I love to bake so I buy yeast in bulk, 1/2 gallon at a time and I had just opened this yeast the day before.
I got a little curious about the giggles and strange noises I was hearing so I went to find out what was going on. I found my boys COVERED from head to toe in syrup and yeast. Without thinking I stripped them down and put them in the bath with warm water and their clothes in the washer. It didn’t take long for the yeast to begin growing in the warm water in the bath tub and I realized in my washer as well. I had made a big mess even bigger. Now my drains and my washer was filled with growing yeast. I poured all the Clorox I had down my drains and ran a couple cycles of just bleach water in my washer. It worked! My house is yeast free!!!! With toddlers Clorox is a lifesaver!
OMG!! That’s is a CRAZY story! Lol……..thanks for sharing!!
My messiest moment is when my daughter was 2 and was sick one night. She started throwing up everywhere. We where staying in a hotel so all I could use was the towels they had, then I had to find blankets we brought and clothes because we ran out of towels. It was a mess! I felt so bad for her and I just laid next to her with all these towels and blankets.
clorox is the number one cleaner 🙂 I use it everyday!
Ahhhhh…I used ALOT of Clorox during the diaper years. Thank goodness there was a cleaner that could get all those onesies clean!!

I‘m sharing my messy moment for the chance to win prizes from TidyMom as part of Clorox’s Bleach It Away campaign. My messiest moment was when my son was playing baseball. Getting the ground in dirt and grass stains out of those white baseball pants was something that I will never forget. Thank goodness for Clorox! Also, the caked on mud that I would have to knock off of those baseball cleats after every game. These moments are some that this Mom will never forget, but I LOVED every minute of it!

Yogurt Baby…Not for the weaker stomachs…
I ‘m sharing my messy moment for the chance to win prizes from TidyMom as part of Clorox’s Bleach It Away campaign .
My son is a very picky eater. After a friend told me her son LOVED yogurt, I thought I’d give it a try. My son was about the age where we were just switching to cow’s milk, so I thought he’d be able to stomach a yogurt. He gulped it up and LOVED it!
An hour later we were on our way to some apartment showings in another town and soon my son started getting cranky. Sure enough, that yogurt didn’t stay in his tummy and launched it all over himself and car seat. Luckily, I had brought another pair of clothes so in our small back seat I cleaned him up and changed his clothes. He seemed fine and happy so we thought we’d do our last showing. Not long after we started he started screaming and then BAM! This time he threw up all over his new outfit…and I was out of clothes. We just bundled him up with his onesie that wasn’t too badly thrown up on, buckled him up and started heading home. Right before we hit the freeway entrance we heard a loud explosion from down under…tagged along with yet another vomiting noise. We headed to the nearest gas station to clean up what we could.
My son was in pretty bad shape so instead of dripping his waste and vomit into a public place, I decided I would just clean him up again in the back seat. I didn’t know the magnitude of our mess until I pulled off his newly browned onesie. I typically have a strong stomach when it comes to fecal matter and vomit, but my poor little boy was COVERED and I couldn’t handle it. Here we were, with a stark naked baby and a pile of wipes on the ground. My loving husband tried to help but has a weaker stomach than most and he started gagging and dry heaving. I quickly joined in and had to take a step away to get air, hold my breath, clean my screaming baby, gag, and start over. I am sure that the people watching got quite the show, watching two adults trying to clean a baby. What a sight!
Needless to say, we had quite the mess in our back seat! After all was out of our sons system, we headed home with our car of puke and other bodily waste. When we got home, all clothes and car seat cover was tossed in the washer. We bleached the car seat and sanitized everything that was contaminated. Our car got a nice scrub down and a new air freshener!
Whew! What a mess! We did wait for a couple more weeks to try yogurt again and did it in smaller portions! He loves yogurt now. But it sure did teach me a lot as a first time mommy!
