Bountiful: Recipes Inspired by Our Garden is more than just a cook book. If you know Todd Porter and Diane Cu (White on Rice Couple), you know it’s a work of art and labor of love. Inspired by their amazing vegetable garden along with 38 fruit trees, this book offers 100 seasonal, flavorful, simple recipes.
Todd and Diane are two of THE most sincere, generous and authentic people in the blogging world that I’ve had the opportunity to meet. We have had a garden the past 3 years. This past year was the worst we ever had. We just literally ran out of time and when we did have time we were being attacked by mosquitos so we didn’t go out there much. We have bought a few raised bed gardens for next year and are going to try that route. It is something I do with my kids since my divorce and is a great bonding experience for all of us. Thanks for the chance.
I do a tomato, cucumber, bell pepper garden every year!
We do a garden every year of herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, eggplant.
Two years ago I said I would like to do some gardening. My wonderful husband went out and got lumber to make the outer box, bought a tiller, planted tomatoes, green peppers, cucumbers and onions. So far, I have not contributed a whole lot to this project!! This year he added pumpkin and watermelons. I take pictures and tell him how wonderful the garden is!
I love to garden both flower and vegetable. As a child, we worked in the garden with our parents. As an adult there is nothing better than to pick your own fresh vegetable.
I have better luck with flowers in pots on my porch. I look forward to Memorial Day every May to spend the long weekend cleaning up the yard from Michigan’s long winter and planting flowers and some veggies. Usually tomatoes, cukes, peppers, and squash. I’ve tried to do other things, like potatoes, etc, but not with much luck. This year even my flowers struggled… until a few weeks ago. Suddenly, my dahlias, geraniums, fushia, everything is in bloom??
I would love to have a garden but I don’t have one. maybe someday.
My folks always had a vegetable garden! Unfortunately I did not inherit their green thumbs!
Yes I have a garden every year! Just pulled the carrots out of the ground.
My experience with gardening is through my mother who has a gorgeous garden every year!
I can’t ever remember not having a garden. Even as a kid I worked in the garden. I’m now 56 years old
no garden never have had one
no garden currently. working on some small potted plants
We didn’t have a garden this year. Several years ago we had a great one with the most delicious squash, tomatoes, and okra I’ve ever eaten!
I’ve only ever done container gardening, but recently acquired a decent sized piece of land, where hopefully all my garden dreams can come true 🙂
For the last two years we have participated in a community garden. Been more successful in some produce than others.
I’m in Southern California and I’ve done a little vegetable gardening. I’m very near the coast with a lot of fog so it’s hit and miss with my crops. That book looks amazing. Yes, I’m drooling!
I don’t know how to garden, but have always wanted to learn!
Thanks for hosting (#249-251)! And that book is gorgeous!! I’m so impressed with all of you super talented photographers!!
I don’t have a garden but every year I dream of starting one. I’m not a “green thumb” so I’m a little intimidated, I guess.
I’ve been in a town home for many years! I really had missed my garden at my home! So now I put things in pots and try to find places outside and my little area! This year I asked my neighbor if I could use their wall for basil, dill, cherry tomatoes, cilantro! On my wall I had my dwarf mandarin orange tree, and my dwarf lemon tree! I now have the fruit trees in the spare room under gardening lights! It takes so long to grow citrus, Especially indoors in Minnesota! So hard to wait, but it will be so well worth it, if I can pull it off-!!
I’m a big believer in Farmer’s Markets. 🙂
I BUY my garden produce.
We have a wonderful and extensive garden. The usual tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, herbs and the not so common, cauliflower and brussel sprouts. We also grow pumpkins and gourds.
Every spring I plant a beautiful array of flowers in my NJ garden. So much a achieve a tropical setting that I can come from work and feel as though I’m on vacation. I’ll be relocating to the south hopefully sooner than later where I plan to expand to planting fruit and vegetables. I’m very excited at the prospect of having a large enough space to plant food that I can eat fresh from the earth! It looks as if that cookbook would fit right in with my dreams.
Indeed- I love gardening. I remember the first home-grown tomato I had. I never went back. Tomatoes, peppers, beans and more!
I love to garden and I do garden I also read cook books like a novel .over and over again sincerely Dishing with dave
I’m in college now, so I don’t have the room for a garden. But my mom is a crazy amazing gardener and every weekend I take home beautiful produce. I can’t wait for my own little bit of earth to grow my own food. 🙂
We just started a rose garden this year. . . so far we haven’t killed anything!
I had a garden when I owned my own home…now, I live in an apartment so, the only plants I have growing on the patio are herbs.
I like to grown tomatoes and peppers.
I plan to start my own garden next year. We just moved to a new house. My mom shares all of her home grown veggies with me, and they are so fabulous!
my parents have a garden and so does my hubby. this would be a great present!
Unfortunately, I have only been an apartment dweller up to this point, but I intend to try my hand at a vertical or square foot garden in the spring/summer. Bountiful just looks STUNNING and I would love to own my own copy!
We have fruit trees and berry bushes … finally planted a small winter vegetable garden last week. The radishes are sprouting!!! The cook book looks amazing!!!
Cheryl, as always … thank you for hosting 😉
I grow several varieties of tomato, herbs, squash and carrots every year.
I used to have a huge garden, but have cut back drastically because of work obligations.
I have zero of that experience, sadly. BUT, I do want to start a small one next year. So excited, and have so many ideas!!!
Yes, lots of gardening…you could say more than a hobby.
We had a garden with lots of vegetables and flowers..I love getting in the dirt our 8 year old loves it too…
Unfortunately I do not have a garden and because of that I have limited experience with gardening but I’ve always dreamed of having a big beautiful garden.
I garden in earth boxes and have a great herb garden going.
I don’t have my own garden, but have helped my mom with hers. I love fresh herbs, veggies, and fruits.
My “garden” consists of about 4 containers. I am not good with them although I try every year.
No garden.
No space for a garden, but love gardening…
i have herbs growing in containers…but no real garden… hoping to have one some day !
We have a garden every year.
having a garden was one of the first priorities when we bought our house every year it gets a little bit better.
I started out with a small raised bed garden, I love it and plan to add more. Since becoming a Nana I want my granddaughter to love the earth and the beautiful things that God gives us . Many blessings to you
I usually have pots of herbs and maybe some tomatoes on my deck. Someday maybe the BIG garden!
