Crushing on My Favorite Things April

It’s almost Friday! This has been a crazy busy month. April doesn’t seem to want to let go of winter here in St. Louis. We had a touch of sleet and snow on Easter Sunday, and we have 1-3 inches of the white stuff in the forecast for this weekend. Fortunately, today is sunny and 60 for the Cardinals home opener!! I’m ready for it to warm up so I can start planing!!. Now on to what I’m crushing on in April….
If you’re on Instagram, you may have seen some of my stories. I would love for you to FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM HERE.
We had our kitchen and breakfast room painted a creamy white (I’m not sure what the color is, I had it mixed last year when we painted the basement, and I didn’t write down the color match). The walls were a greenish-gray (click here to see the before ) and I’m in LOVE with how much the creamy white brightened up the space!!
Next, I’ll be looking at new (lighter and prettier) counters, sink and adding a tile backsplash…….we are on the fence about replacing the cabinets.

The new wall color looks perfect with the new dining chairs and vintage table I got a few months ago.
I think we hung the metal “gather” sign a little too high, but I’m debating getting a mirror like this to hang there instead.
I’ve been on the hunt for a new mascara, and I think I’ve found one that I really love!
We’ve been into playing board games lately. Allison’s boyfriend got us hooked on Settlers of Catan a while back. It can take hours to play and I’m determined to keep playing so I can win!! lol This past weekend we played a new game we got for Christmas, Ticket To Ride. This game is a little quicker and I won!! If you have some other board games we might like, let me know!
If you know me personally, you probably know I’m a bit of a pillow junkie and I like to sleep with a lot of pillows. Steve got me this pillow for my birthday after Allison raved about one she’s used…..and I have to say, I think I’m sold!! I was really skeptical about them, they feel lumpy but it’s really a comfortable pillow! It won’t go flat, stays cool and you can wash and dry it!
Did you know you can get 50% off any one item at Kendra Scott during your birthday month? I went in on the last day of the month in March and picked up this beauty for just $30 after tax!! You just tell them it’s your birthday month, and they will ask to see your id when you check out!!
I’ve only recently learned to love salmon, thanks to this lemon dill salmon recipe I fell in love with!! It’s a quick and delicious meal with almost no cleanup!!
I’m drooling and earmarking a ton of recipes in the two new cookbooks I got recently from a few incredibly talented friends!!
- If you don’t already know Jessica, you don’t know what you’re missing! Her stunning book, The Pretty Dish is packed with 150 everyday recipes + 50 Beauty DIYs!
- Mary is the girl everyone wants to live next door to (um, she has boys who cook AND clean). Her fabulous book, The Weekday Lunches and Breakfasts Cookbook, makes cooking from scratch easy with smart recipes to help your family eat nutritious, homemade meals during the busiest times of day.
I’ve made this recipe twice in the last week…….I just love asparagus season!
I bought a pair of cropped jeans and they are so comfortable I may never take them off!! Along with these shoes that I swore I would NEVER wear…….until I bought a pair last summer and fell in love!
It’s almost the weekend……make this!

Thank you for hosting! Your kitchen looks beautiful!
thank you!! My painter thought I was crazy for not painting it a “color” lol
Cheryl ~ Thanks for hosting the I’m Lovin’ It Link Party, and congratulations on 8 years of hosting! That’s huge! I love the color in your kitchen and breakfast room. We’re getting ready to repaint our main floor, and I’m looking for a good greige, but after seeing your pictures, I may have to look at creamy whites, too. 🙂 We love Settlers of Catan, but our games get a little intense. We just found a new game called Forbidden Island where you work together to win. That suits our uber-competitive family much better. Have fun!
Thanks so much!! and I’m going to check out Forbidden Island!!
I hope your first week of April was a great one!
Your home decor is always so beautiful! I love the way you decorate, this was a lovely post, thank you so much for sharing your home with us.
