Raise your hand if you grew up eating homemade Chex Mix during the holidays and throughout the year! This holiday staple drenched in buttery Worcestershire sauce has been making the rounds at holiday parties since spray-on snow and bubble lights were first trendy.  This year though, I felt the holidays called for a little sweetness and nod to the season. Be prepared to make a double batch of Pumpkin Spice Chex Party Mix, because it will disappear fast!  It’s also great for gifting during the holiday season!

This Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix has a little sweetness and a little spice with lots of crunch. I simply added a little chocolate twist to the original Pumpkin Spice Snack Mix recipe and I want to make it on repeat all season long.

For all the pumpkin haters — there isn’t any pumpkin in this snack mix. It’s all about the buttery toasty Chex cereal seasoned with the same spice blend used in pumpkin pie. So, if you like cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and cardamom, you’ll really love this Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix.

If you’re pumpkin spiced out, you could use apple pie spice mix or just call it Autumn Spiced Chex Mix!

Whatever you call it, it’s a great slightly sweet snack to make for parties, or just to have around the house. It takes all of about 5 minutes to make, and the result is a crunchy mix of fall flavors.

Chex Honey Nut, Chex Chocolate and Chex Cinnamon for making Pumpkin Pie Spice Chex Mix

A little known fact about me…..I’m a HUGE cereal lover for breakfast. So we always have a variety of Chex cereal in our pantry.  I’ve been known to mix flavors…..cinnamon and chocolate have been my latest favorite combo.

Now Let’s Make Pumpkin Spice Chex Mix!

You’ll combine Chex Honey Nut, Chex Cinnamon and Chex Chocolate and pecans in a very large microwave-safe bowl. Pretzels would be good too, for a sweet and salty mix.

Then, you’ll melt some butter, add a little vanilla extract, pour over cereal and gently stir to coat.

Next, give the cereal mixture a generous sprinkling of brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice mix, gently stir again. Then place the bowl in the microwave for 5 minutes.

That’s right, all the crunchy spicy goodness goes right into the microwave. No oven. Trust me, it works!! Just 4-5 minutes in the microwave. Make sure you stick around to stop after each minute to stir your Pumpkin Spice Chex mix.

Allow the Chex Mix to cool on a pan or parchment paper. Try not to sneak any before it’s ready. 😉  You can print the recipe below for detailed directions.

This Pumpkin Spice Chex mix did NOT last long in our house. I plan on making a few more batches to package up for our neighbors for Thanksgiving.

The sweet and spicy combination of everything goin’ on in this Chex mix is the ultimate fall snack. I love that it’s not overly sweet and the pumpkin spice just adds the perfect ‘something extra’ to each bite!
