I know, I know…….Pizza Pancakes?……sounds gross right?………..but hang with me, I think you’ll be surprised!
I’ve mentioned before that we love pizza at our house, so I’m always looking for new ways to eat it, like homemade pizza rolls or grilled pizza. So the other day when I was making banana granola pancakes, I thought “why not pizza?” No, not the kind with sugar and syrup but pancakes infused with all your favorite pizza toppings, then dunk them in the warm pizza sauce, just like the pizza rolls.
This is a great way to change up everyday pizza!
So I beg of you, this weekend, or one crazy hectic weeknight, warm up the griddle, grab your favorite pizza toppings and some Bisquick, flip a stack of these pancakes and dip in warm pizza sauce! YUM!! Open a bag of Caesar salad and VIOLA! you have dinner!
Grab the griddle and let’s make pizza pancakes

Pizza Pancakes
A fun twist on pizza, using a basic pancakes recipe and adding favorite pizza toppings. These savory pancakes are perfect for game day, after-school snacking or a quick dinner the whole family will love. Serve with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Bisquick (baking mix)
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup shredded Italian (Pizza) cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped or mini pepperoni
- 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt
- Pizza sauce, for dipping
- Parmesan Cheese, garnish
Instructions
- Heat griddle or skillet and grease, if necessary
- In a large bowl, combine the Bisquick mix, Italian seasoning and garlic salt. Combine eggs and milk and stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in the cheeses and pepperoni.
- Pour approximately 1/4 cup onto hot griddle, cook until bubbles form on top and edges are dry. Flip and cook until golden brown.
- Cut pancakes with pizza cutter into 4 triangles, garnish with Parmesan cheese, if desired, and serve with pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
Variations: substitute pepperoni, for meat of choice, such as hamburger, sausage, or bacon.
These pizza pancakes would freeze well and aren’t bad left over either. They’d make a great after-school snack or lunch box treat too!!

This sounds ANYTHING but gross… I love the idea. I want them for breakfast!
GENIUS idea. As a kid I wasn’t a fan of breakfast food, I’d rather have cold pizza. But if someone woulda given me these?!?! Well now, I’d convert to a pancake fan, no problemo
Cheryl, I love this idea!! Sounds yummy to me. I am sure it will be a hit at home. I can’t wait to surprise my daughters! Thanks 🙂
Alright, I’ll admit that I scrunched my nose up a bit at first, but the more I read the more I began to see the light. Pizza Pancakes. Yes, please.
My son would love these!!
Josh would be all over these pancakes! So fun!
What a great idea! Perfect for football tomorrow night! This also looks healthier than a pizza roll. Do you think it is? Maybe? I will pretend that it is. I love the presentation too. Great job! Gotta go the buffalo chicken pizza link is calling my name.
I think these sound amazing – and like something I know my daughter would eat!!
What a GREAT idea!!! I will definitely try these! Pretty pictures, Cheryl!
Doesn’t sound gross to me at all! Yum!! Your photos (as always) are stunning!
I will be trying these this weekend!
OMGoodness! You are so clever! I think it sounds good and looks even better. Another recipe that I found a while back was to do “pancakes” with cornbread. It’s so yummy to top with some brown beans and serve with some fried potatoes and greens! Now I’m hungry!
Super fun! I’m a leftover-pizza-for-breakfast kind of person, so this sounds great to me!!
This is such a brilliant idea!
Pizza Pancakes!! My husband is a Pizza Freak! all he wants to eat is Pizza haha, maybe at least this will look different
Who doesn’t love sweet and savory?!!
Cheryl these are so much fun. Who wouldn’t want to try these and I’ll bet the kids love them. You’re so creative! Thanks for sharing this with us.
My kids love anything “pancake” and would gobble these right up!
This is such a fun idea, Cheryl! My kids would definitely crown me “best mum in the world” if I made these for them.
these are so fun! You are highly creative, I could never think these up. My daughter who loves pancakes and pizza would really dig these.
I am very intrigued.
What a yummy idea!
This is the most clever way to combine two of the best things on earth: pizza and pancakes! Seriously genius.
Wow! This takes the *Breakfast for Dinner* concept to an entire new and delicious level.
I would eat pizza for every meal! These are perfect. 🙂
we make homemade pizza on Fridays, i am always looking for new ideas. this is brilliant. By the way I love printing your recipes because they have your site name on them. I do not have to go back and write it in

Wow. These look really good!
I love your savory pancake invention Cheryl! Must try these asap!
I’ve made some savory scones that are very similar in flavor to pizza, but nothing quite like these beauties!
What a great idea! I’m always looking for new and interesting ways to take evil treats and make them better or easier. These look perfect! Thanks!
Could you substitute anything for the Bisquick? I LOVE the idea but was wondering if made with any other pancake mix is might be two sweet? Thanks!
Sounds like something my pizza monsters would love! I’m gonna have to give this a try. I’m not sure when to try it—Friday night is pizza night and we make pancakes on Saturday morning.
I’m totally impressed by this idea. I would have never thought to make this kind of savory pancake but it totally makes sense. Especially since I burned my regular pizza that I tried to make yesterday.. *sigh*
What will you think of next? Such a great idea, Cheryl! It can be breakfast, lunch, or dinner…I wonder if it would be good with syrup? 🙂 I’m thinking “Yes”!
made these last night. the husband and myself both loved them! gonna make more and freeze them! thanks for this!
I have a boy in my house (No, not a child…a boyfriend. Oi.) who will pretty much eat nothing but pizza so I’m always looking for things like this to mix it up. Thanks for sharing! Have you tried pizzadillas? Basically you put all your pizza tops except for your sauce inside a tortilla, fold it in half and then heat it on either a skillet or a griddle. Cut into slices (just like a quesadilla) and then dip it into marinara sauce. I was skeptical but they’re actually pretty good! 🙂 We also do pizza crescent rolls where you put cheese and peperonis inside crescent rolls (the kind that Pillsbury sells in a can) and then bake them and dip them in sauce!
These are so fun, Cheryl! Madeline would probably love them. Logan on the other hand would accuse me of ruining one of his favorite foods (pancakes). haha!
I already know my family will love love love these!
This is such a cool idea – I am betting any kid would go crazy over these.
This is such a fantastic idea!! Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
