If you know me, you know how much I love my furry four legged child, Cullen, the Yorkie!! Sometimes I’m tempted to buy him every dog item I see, I even have an Everything Dog Pinterest Board full of goodies for him. Of course, like our real children, buying them every cute thing you see isn’t feasible, but I have found that a few homemade pet essentials, like toys, food bowls and treats, offers a way for me to pamper my pooch with out breaking the bank!
4 DIY Dog Accessories
I made this DIY Pet Food Canister two years ago from an old popcorn tin. It’s held up great and I love how it looks in our kitchen, and how easy it is to just scoop out food into the dog bowl. Way better than the mess made when you pour it straight from the bag. This Ballard Design Knock-Off is much easier on the pocket book too! – You would pay $45+ for the Ballard Design Pet Food Canisters , and they only offer two colors. Make your own and you can have any color you want!
Dogs can never have enough toys. Crafter Rachel Passerini demonstrates how to make a sturdy rope toy that’s comfortable for you to tug and strong enough for your dog to chew. Get the instructions for the DIY Fleece Rope Dog Toy at HGTV.com
If you have a crate loving pooch, why not customize his or her crib with DIY Dog Crate Bumper Pads. Amanda shares wonderful instructions and a free pattern you can download to make some for your pampered pet. A creative way to spoil your pet without breaking the bank
Get creative with some Customized Dog Bowls. All you need is some wood bowls, a wood burning tool and lettered stickers. See the full tutorial at A Beautiful Mess
These DIY accessories are a great way to show your furballs how much you care and appreciate them.
Everyone loves getting treats, but I’m pretty sure Cullen is the most appreciative recipient! With ingredients like peanut butter, bacon, and liver, your dog won’t be able to resist chowing down on these these dog treat recipes!

Thanks for sharing my dog treats, Cheryl! I can’t wait to check out the others. It’s been way too long since I’ve spoiled Biscuit with homemade treats!
Love the crate bumpers. I had to put solid sides on the outside of our crate because our dog would pull the crate cover into the crate & chew on it when he got bored. I so wish I could make the crate cute like the ones you showed here. 🙂
Thanks for the awesome party this week, Cheryl! Have a wonderful evening : )
xoxo Liz

Thank you for hosting a great party. There are always so many wonderful things here! I love your Pampered Pet post. My dog would be in heaven if I did these things for him. He was lucky to get a couple towels in his crate. I’m feeling like the slacker Mom… Oh well, I guess he doesn’t spend a lot of time there anyway. Right now he’s lounging on his puffy bed so I shouldn’t feel too bad 🙂 Krista @ A Handful of Everything
