A fun twist to a traditional winter craft. Learn how to make waterless snow globes.
I’ve been meaning to make these for the last few years! It’s such an easy craft and the possibilities are endless!
How to make Waterless Snow Globes
What you need:
*you can find all of these supplies at a local craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby, or Amazon (click the links to find them on Amazon)
- Glass jars (varying sizes look best for a collection)
- Artificial Snow (I used Snow Flakes and Twinkle Flakes)
- Hot glue gun and glue
- Assorted mini Christmas Trees and snowmen
- Spray Adhesive (optional)
- glitter (optional)
- Krylon Glitter Blast (or white spray paint)
1. Remove lids and spray paint. I used the Krylon Glitter Blast in silver, but white would work just as well.
*optional step (not shown) – I sprayed tress and snowmen with spray adhesive then sprinkled with glitter
2. Hot glue your trees and snowmen to the lids (I also glued the canning lids together)
3. Fill jars with just a little snow.
4. Screw lids back on.
Turn them over and Let It Snow!
They’d make a great center piece or look cute in a window!
These are just too fun and easy to make – after waiting for my lids to dry, I made all 4 of these in under a half hour. It’s a great holiday craft to do with the kids!

You can use a photo from your own home and insert one of their Santa’s and presto PROOF! Which is necessary this year (4 & 9 year old )… I’d like to see how he (my 9) will answer with the picture I made!

Okay, I “stumbled on” you and now I finally know what to do with those dollar store trees I grabbed last month! Great idea!
These are pefect stocking stuffers if you get a small enough jar. The kids love them because they are whimsical and delicate, and parents love them because if they break at least there’s not a wet sticky mess to clean up. I love that you glitter-fied the tops/bottoms too, I hadn’t thought of that but it adds a sweet little holiday cheer!

Thank you sooo much for this idea!! I found an idea for a globe with water, but my glue wasn’t holding when it came in contact with the water. Also my lid kept leaking.
So instead I did the fake snow. Never woulda thought of it. It’s not exactly what I wanted, but I think it looks great!!

I love these and they just gave me a idea what too do with a large canister jar I’ve had for a while it had largeshell pasta in it and I tossed it out and saved the cansiter, so I think I will try to do a snow scene inside it.
