Most of us purchase dryer sheets to toss in the dryer to make our laundry smell fresh, feel soft and reduce static. I shared that you can cut them in half and get the same results, as well as you can tuck them away with your linens to keep them smelling fresh. But did you know you can use those dryer sheets can come in handy in other rooms in the house?

When doing applique in quilting or sewing you and lay your fabric shape(circle or whatever you are making) on top of the dryer sheet and then stitch all the way around the entire shape. Once done sewing all the way around, you can then carefully snip a small area in the dryer sheet and turn the appliue shape right side out and the applique is ready to stitch down without the need to turn the edges as you would normally need to do as you are sewing around your shape. It works great and you are using something that would normally be thrown into the trash.

i like to use them in my car for an air freshener as well as I like to place them in the heater vent covers. It collects things that would normally go down the vent and freshens each time the heater kicks in.
