You all know how much I love to share things that excite me right? Well, there’s no holding back the excitement today!! Meghan Mountford, author of one of my favorite cookie decorating books and the creative brain behind The Decorated Cookie and editor of Edible Crafts at Craft Gossip, has just released her second book, Sugarlicious, expanding her cookie craft to cupcakes, cakes and other sweet treats.
Meaghan is one of those bakers who takes cute treats to a whole new level. Sugarlicous is packed with 200 pages of adorable edible art, beautiful color photos and illustrated step-by-step directions for both the novice and seasoned bakers. The book includes cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay.
You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

I love the Birdie cookies!! Super cute!
I always enjoy making cute treats for my daughter’s class. For Halloween I made sugar cookies that looked like candy corn and melted witch treats. Too cute!
I visited the Decorated Cookie blog and love everything. If I have to choose, I’d say the unicorn cookies on a stick and sparkly rainbow marshmallow kabobs are the cutest. My daughter is really into unicorns, so I’m alread planning on these for her next birthday! 🙂
mini cupcakes are cute desserts that i’ve made!
from the decorated cookie: the crazy easy colorful petits fours look good!
The cutest thing I have made this far has to be cakeball cupcakes with solid chocolate bottoms from Bakerella’s blog. They were a big hit at the baby shower.
From the Decorated Cookie – the melting snowman cookie. I just pinned it!
My fave from Sugarlicious…. the snowflake cookies. So unique and precious!!!
My mom always made the best decorated cookies at Christmas… I would love to do that for my own children!!!

I would like to win this and make those frog cupcakes.
The bird cupcake pops on her site are adorable.
I used to make special birthday cakes for my kids until they decided that they like apple pie better 🙂 I think my best one was an “aircraft carrier” cake. It was more than 2 feet long and was modeled after my younger son’s favorite toy.
I definitely want to try the S-mores on a Stick! My kids would LOVE those!
The cutest thing I thing I ever made was popcorn cupcakes. I love mini desserts – I think they are adorable!
Last week I made a badge cake complete with my husband’s shield number when he found out he was switching precincts. The best part was that my daughter was so excited to help me!

I am REALLY wanting to make my daughters 1st BIRTHDAY cake. I want it to be VERY VERY girley. Sparkles, andBRIGHT COLORS: PINK, PURPLE, ORANGE, YELLOW, TEAL AND WHITE. I have a vizion in my head. We will see if it cones to life. I want to make a cordinating **SMASH** cake for her too! I am so excited and i KNOW this book will help!!!!!! PiCk Me PiCk Me PppppLllleeeeSsssEEEE THANKS : )
I am planning to make a LEGO themed cake for my sons’ birthdays this year. Thanks for the entry.
My latest obsession are chocolate dipped marshmallows so from the decorated cookie blog, I’d like to make her s’mores pops!
I absolutely loved the mini cupcakes with the books! That would be a great idea for school cupcakes for the kids. Maybe St. Patricks Day with a little glitter shamrock on top!
I made hedgehog cookies that were so adorable!
I think the cutest dessert that I our family made was mice…they were made with oreo cookies, hershey kisses, melted chocholet, marocino cherries with stems, and almond slivers. They were a little hard to make with the youngest one but they all had fun. That’s the key to that everyone has a blast…with us the kids usually end up wiping frosting or chocolate over anothers cheek (all in the name of fun). I love cooking time its a time to hang out and bond!
Oh my gosh Maghan’s blog is awesome! I have to say I didn’t have to go far to find my fav but kept looking and found another fav. the first is: Prop Cookie Props, the second is : Attack of the Zombie Marshmellows. But there are so many great ideas…my brain is about to explode! LOL
Elmo cookies for a child’s birthday party
About 20 years ago I made a cake shaped like a pumpkin. It was close to Halloween and I was in a creative mood, so I made the cake for me, my boyfriend and my mom. My boyfriend back then is now my husband.
I visited A Decorated Cookie blog/website and I love all of her cupcake ideas. I want to try the easy brownie daisies. So, so cute!!!
I have been wanting to make these individual mint dirt in a cup that I saw on a blog. They are each made in a glass shot glass maybe and it is mint chocolate pudding with a mint sprig sticking out so it looks like a growing plant. They look sooooo cute!
My son’s 2nd birthday is in a few weeks and I’m going to attempt some Elmo cupcakes! It could be disastrous but I’m sure he’ll love them anyway!
I just checked out Meaghan’s blog and it’s amazing! I’m not very good at baking but I definitely think I could handle the pacman cookies. My husband will love them!
The only cute treat I’ve made are decorated cookies
I love to bake and spoil my grandson with food that looks as good as it tastes can’t wait to try the froggy cupcakes
So I know you wont think it’s cute, but I do! 🙂 I made my son Nerf Gun cookies for his nerf war birthday party this year. He and all the kids loved them. Even the adults loved the look!
I love her Harry Potter cookie!!! Great work!
Mini tarts bar with all kind of fruit fillings!
Meghan’s decorated art !!!
I think the cutest thing I ever made was a mini monkey cake, and matching monkey cupcakes for one of my nephew’s first birthday parties. They were adorable and my sister-in-law & brother-in-law were very happy with how they turned out! I’m not normally a cake decorator but offered to take on a challenge to do this for him 🙂
Meghan’s creations are stunning! Thank you for sharing her work, and this giveaway!
One that stands out in my mind is one I made as a young teenager. It was for my younger sister’s 3rd BD in the shape of a doll. I didn’t have a pan but cut up a 9×13. Looking back at it – it was horrible in terms of decorating artist abilities, but it was a hit with my sister. She cried when the cake was cut. That alone, more than anything, made me want to decorate cakes and treats better to bring smiles to other children!
Favorite? That’s a hard task. I’ll have to pick the Valentines Day wreath or the cookie candyland mason jar snow globes! Lots of neat ideas.
I love to make old fashion donuts. I bake at least one batch per week, and I love to use colored icing and sprinkles to decorate them. I want this book!
