You all know how much I love to share things that excite me right? Well, there’s no holding back the excitement today!! Meghan Mountford, author of one of my favorite cookie decorating books and the creative brain behind The Decorated Cookie and editor of Edible Crafts at Craft Gossip, has just released her second book, Sugarlicious, expanding her cookie craft to cupcakes, cakes and other sweet treats.
Meaghan is one of those bakers who takes cute treats to a whole new level. Sugarlicous is packed with 200 pages of adorable edible art, beautiful color photos and illustrated step-by-step directions for both the novice and seasoned bakers. The book includes cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay.
You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

As soon as my copy arrived at our door, Allison grabbed it up and has at least 5 things earmarked that “we” need to make, so I’ll be sharing some soon!

Hi! I am new to the blog & page, i have been seeing your stuff on pintrest, so i had to like you guys here too! My Daughter (Meghan, 8) loves to bake with me, she also loves things with her name spelled correctly, so this book would make a great treasure for her hope chest! i have totally tried creativity, but am just now starting to venture out into this realm. the cutest things we have made to date are… smore cookies, sugar cookies with m&m’s, peanut butter cookies with Dove hearts in the center, Meg’s favorite was her 6th birthday cake, simple cake with fondant, that she colored & cut out… t
thanks for the chance to win an awesome book & help her creativity!!!
Yesterday I made red velvet baked donuts in my heart shaped donut pan, topped them with coconut cream cheese frosting and flaked coconut. They were so cute, but even better tasting.
Wow! She has some amazing little yummies over there on her page but I love the squirell cookie, how adorable.
Well it doesn’t fall under the category of cute, but for my son’s 5th Birthday I made the most amazing Volcano cake with “lava” shooting out the top & then using dry ice to make it smoke!
I love the idea of writing on marshmallows! The possibilities are endless!
I recently made a giant cupcake and made the wrapper from melted chocolate do it was all edible. It was for a baby shower so it was baby blue and had fondant bows and buttons. It was so cute and the mom to be loved it. I would like to know of a good recipe for cheesecake buttercream that’s my next thing to work on 🙂
I forgot to mention I sent it to Meghan and she loved it and said she would post it on her Friday blog which made me feel super awesome ❤
Probably the cutest sweet thing that I have ever done were Christmas Mice. Taking Hershey Kiss and dipping cherries in Choc for body and tail. Kiss on it’s side for the head. Icing gel for eyes!
Such awesome sweets on Meghan’s Blog. I like the Rainbow Cake!
Meaghan’s new book is full of fun ideas and information. I’ve been decorating cookies and cakes “unprofessionally” for years and years but I have learned so much from her and the other cookie bloggers who are so willing to share their knowledge.
The cutest thing I ever made was a royal icing stork for a baby shower cake. It seemed to fly over the cake and everyone was wowed over it!
Meaghan’s new book look awesome. I love her heart cookies, but then I love everything. I learn sooo much from all the wonderful bloggers. THANK YOU ALL
I don’t know if I have anything really cute, I just learn so much from the internet and your blogs. I couldn’t do anything as good without you. THANKS SO MUCH .
Ooh! I love making cute food! I even put sprinkles on my toast and peanut butter 😉 . I think the cutest treat I have made was this past year when I made “Oreo sushi” for a sweet sixteen birthday party. I put two white chocolate dipped oreos together and wrapped them with black fondant. Then I piped on the fish eggs with royal icing. Those were one of the faves from the dessert bar at the party.
I love all of Meaghan’s stuff. Her blog is so inspiring. It’s hard to narrow down my favorite from her page but I really like the Valentine marshmallows on a string. Such a good idea!
i made lemon Yoda cookies
my favorite treat from A Decorated Cookie is Bluebird Brownie Pops
I love the smores on a stick. Too cute!
pie pops! they may not be as versatile as cake pops, but pie is my favorite food. {smile}
thanks for a chance at the giveaway!
oh! my favorite treat on Meghan’s blog, A Decorated Cookie, has to be the “little lamb cake balls” ~ too cute!
Hi I found your blog through pinterest and am loving it! I’d say the cutest treat I’ve made are hello kitty cake pops! They were a big hit! I was a little sad to eat my cake pops though HAHA
Cheers
Meghan’s blog is so cute I especially LOVE that she has a stuff on sticks category cuz everything is better on sticks! One of the cutest most ingenious things I saw was the gingerbread house on a stick. Genius.
Cheers
I love the running show that I made for a friend’s high school daughter. It was done in her school colors and perfect during cross country season.
My kids and I love to bake together! We’ve made some very fun Valentine’s Day Brownies and Chocolate Mousse. We even drew X’s and O’s on marshmallows to decorate our chocolate mousse. (I got the idea from an old post from The Decorated Cookie blog. Would love to win this new cookbook.
My favorite sweet treat idea from the The Decorated Cookie site is this Bunny Meets Carrot cookie
My favorite is her String Cheese Dude from her edible crafts blog.
The cutest dessert I ever made was Chocolate Witch cupcakes
I absolutely love your blog and think it is so sweet of you to offer this chance to your readers! I love baking with my daughters and you never disappoint with your inspiration! :0) I think my favorite goodies thus far would have to be “ice cream cone” cake pops! not complicated but so darn cute!
Hope you have a great day!

The cutest thing I have ever baked was the 7 layer rainbow cake that I made for my daughter’s 5th birthday. I absolutely LOVE baking and I being able to bake with my two sweet little girls make’s it even better. I am getting ready to bake this coming weekend a large Oreo cookie cake and cookie cupcakes for my youngest daughter’s 2nd birthday. We are having a milk & cookies themed birthday and I am so excited to start baking for it!
I think the cutest treat I’ve made was the bunny cake pops I made for Easter last year. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find pastel candy corn, so I used jelly beans. They ended up looking like teddy bears, but they were still totally cute. Each one had it’s own facial expression and everyone loved them.
I love Meghan’s Firecracker Favors and the painted marshmallows that are stars and stripes. Being a military family, anything patriotic is a win in our home!
Meghan’s book looks amazingly cute! As far as the cutest thing I’ve ever made…well it would probably be cupcakes that I decorated by cutting mini-marshmellows on the diagonal, dipping them in colored sugar, and then arranging them to look like flowers!
The cutest thing I saw on Meghan’s blog was the entry on Fondant Gerbera Daisies (on cookie pops) ADORABLE!!
Even if I don’t win, I will buy this book for sure! Love your blog!
It is really hard to choose my favorite thing from Sugarlicious! It is all so beautiful! But if I had to choose, I really love her rainbow cupcakes and cakes, so colorful and fun.
Am retired and out of ideas! Would love to have some! Would love this cook book.
Favorite – Melting snowman!! Too cute!
The cutest treat I’ve made is a sunflower cake, using a 2-layer round cake, iced in chocolate frosting, and decorated as a sunflower using chocolate chips and yellow peeps!
The cutest treat I ever made were some adorable decorated sugar cookies for my daughters second birthday. I made them in the likeness of her favorite cartoon characters and she was able to recognize each and every one and call them by name. It made her day (and mine)!
I love to decorate cakes! The cutest one I ever made, in my opinion, was a race car being driven by a frog for my son’s third birthday.
I love, love the decorated marshmallows! Little fun treats for kids and grownups too! Peppermint stick snowflake marshmallows are just perfect for hot chocolate.
The cutest treat I think I ever made were some Rock Star Marshmallow Pops for my 5 yr old’s bday party. They were a huge hit and so cute. You can see them here:

Those Frankenstein marshmallow pops are SO cute!
I usually let my son pick his birthday cake and so far I have made a train, a dump truck, a bull dozer and a backhoe. All of these cakes I made 3-D, but I totally ready for super easy and cute cakes. I am a little concerned about what he may think of next.
I am not known for cute desserts – I am dealthy afraid of frosting! But every year I make my niece the girliest treats possible! I seriously want to take a cake decorating course to get over my fear of imperfect icing!
oh my – I had no idea she was behind so many of the cute treats I’ve seen on Pinterest! I went to her website, and the bluebird brownie pops are getting pinned! :o)
I went over to her site (The Decorated Cookie) and love all the marshmallow ideas. Ya know sometimes you don’t have time to bake cookies or a cake and then decorate them, but the marshmallows would be super quick, easy and fun to eat!
I think the cutest thing I’ve made is cake pops for my daughter’s birthday. They are my new favorite!

I have actually made two desserts that I was really surprised by THAT I MADE! The first was a coconut creme cake that was 3-tiers. I made that for my parents 60th wedding anniversary. AND, not only did it look awesome it was soooo super yummy. The second, was a princess pillow with crown. I had never used fondant before and made it for a women’s reading group get together. My cake decorating friends were very impressed! It also tasted very good, isn’t that what its really all about? ;D
Hi!
The cutest dessert I made was a heart shaped strawberry cake, which I made for a birthday of a friend of mine. Her birthday is on the valentines Day. So, I covered the whole cake with red rosettes. The cake tasted great and it was beautiful too.
