You all know how much I love to share things that excite me right? Well, there’s no holding back the excitement today!! Meghan Mountford, author of one of my favorite cookie decorating books and the creative brain behind The Decorated Cookie and editor of Edible Crafts at Craft Gossip, has just released her second book, Sugarlicious, expanding her cookie craft to cupcakes, cakes and other sweet treats.
Meaghan is one of those bakers who takes cute treats to a whole new level. Sugarlicous is packed with 200 pages of adorable edible art, beautiful color photos and illustrated step-by-step directions for both the novice and seasoned bakers. The book includes cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay.
You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

While I am a great baker and love the process, my decorating skills are very limited. The cutest thing I have ever made would have to be sugar cookie hearts with pink frosting – pretty lame!
I would love to try my hand at the snowman cookies, either the ones with the orange nose or the melted ones on the side bar.
Ohhh….that looks like a book I could use for sure! I am definately a novice, but made a John Deere tractor cake for my son’s 1st birthday…not without help from my mom though! Would love to have the book to learn even more 🙂

Valentine treats have been something cute I have made for my boys..
Conversation heart cookies on her website are very cute.
The cutest seet treat I ever made was light blue frosted sugar cookie that had a royal icing snowflake on top sprinkled with light blue and white sugar crystals. I made them last year for a cookie fundraiser at church and they were a hit! It was my first time piping royal icing and I am really looking forward to learning more!
I haven’t really made any cute treats, but would love to try some holiday-themed treats.
I like “buttercups, poppies and dandelions, oh my”
I’m NOT entering the giveaway b/c I have like 5+ copies of this book and will probably order more for my friends jumping on the sweets bandwagon these days! I just had to leave a comment on how wonderful this book is! I have made 2 of the projects and have found them easy to do and so user friendly! It is a great book for experienced and beginners alike! Plus it is so fun to just look at!
Cake pops are my cutest baked goods … 🙂
Cutest treat I ever made is a jungle theme cake for twin girls’ 4th birthday. I made plenty of fondant animal figures. It was my first such experience and I was very impressed with the final product. I would like to make cake pops sometime soon. I would love to receive Sugarlicious and other cute stuff in this giveaway. Thanks for an opportunity!
I made the cutest Minnie Mouse cake for a 1st birthday. It was a round 2 layer cake in Pink with Minnie Mouse on the top and black fondant zebra stripes around the entire cake. I finished it off with rainbow disco dust. I would love to be the winner of this fun giveaway!
S’More’s on a stick! Definitely S’More’s on a stick. My favorite treat from A Decorated Cookie Blog is S’More’s on a stick. Nuff said! 🙂
YEARS AGO when my sons were just boys, I had a jello mold of a Gingerbread Man. Every Christmas I would make rice krispie treats using the molds and decorated with M&Ms and other candies and then give them to thier friends. This went onn into their teenage years. They would show up at my house asking if I had made their Gingerbread man yet!!!! It crushed their souls when I quit making them!!
I love her swirly fondant creations!
I would love to learn how to make marshmallows…I try making them during the holiday but, it never firm up enough to cut. It was a sticky mess.
Some of my cutest creations are my fondant cupcake toppers!
Love the fondant projects. Need so much more practice. (I have the book but would love to have the other goodies.. ) PS – LOVE the book!!
I would love to experiment with fondant. Just haven’t been that brave. One of these days!
I love making royal icing decorated sugar cookies, and this year for thanksgiving I hand piped turkeys on to chocolate cut out cookies. They were so cute and delicious! My two year old baby cousin LOVED them!
Those melted snowmen are on my “must try” list. Did make an adorable owl cake for my grand baby’s 1st birthday!
LOVING the conversation heart cookies! So wishing I had seen them a few days ago! lol
We made penguin cupcakes. Creative and cute.
I love the macaroons on a stick and the unicorns.
I love decorating baby shower cakes! Nothing is cuter than a baby cake!
I like the Easter bunny cookies in jelly beans – so cute!
I made cute alphabet sugar birthday cookies spelling out words – that’s about as decorative as I’ve goten thus far.
I would love to make Curious George cupcakes for my son’s 1st birthday!
I also just checked out her website and loved the wine and grapes cookies.
The cutest thing I ever made was pink fondant octopus cupcake toppers for my daughters 8th b-day!
One of the cutest desserts I’ve made is a Candy Land inspired cake for a friend’s daughter’s 16 birthday. Lots and lots of candy was used, along with lots of frosting!
I love to make cakes of all kinds! Birthday cakes, wedding cakes, shower cakes… I think the cutest thing I ever made was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake for my son’s 3rd birthday… but man, was that a challenge, coming up with all the different parts of the clubhouse! Totally worth it when I saw my little boy’s face. 🙂
Also, my favorite treat on Meaghan’s blog were the Winter Wonderland Oreo Cakesters! I love the little snowmen. 🙂
This cookbook is too cute! I saw it a couple weeks ago, and am still thinking about it! Cutest thing I ever made – probably my sons Popcorn cake. It was a giant rectangle cake decorated with red stripes like a popcorn container, and then I had popcorn “rice krispie” treats coming out the top. It was actually pretty cool!
I love the melting snowman cookies. She started them, and they are all over, but I can’t help it! I just think they are too cute!
The Apricot fried pies that my Grandmother taught me to make would be my most prized dessert! There is nothing that I have ever had that comes close!
Thanks for the chance to win such great goodies!
