You all know how much I love to share things that excite me right? Well, there’s no holding back the excitement today!! Meghan Mountford, author of one of my favorite cookie decorating books and the creative brain behind The Decorated Cookie and editor of Edible Crafts at Craft Gossip, has just released her second book, Sugarlicious, expanding her cookie craft to cupcakes, cakes and other sweet treats.
Meaghan is one of those bakers who takes cute treats to a whole new level. Sugarlicous is packed with 200 pages of adorable edible art, beautiful color photos and illustrated step-by-step directions for both the novice and seasoned bakers. The book includes cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay.
You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

As soon as my copy arrived at our door, Allison grabbed it up and has at least 5 things earmarked that “we” need to make, so I’ll be sharing some soon!

I can not wait to make bridal shower cookies for my good friend this spring.
I do mainly cakes and cupcakes and have done some really cute cakes for baby showers and children’s birthdays. My favorite may be the Batman cake I did for a 3rd birthday.
My favorite on her blog was the Publishers Cupcakes. How cute are those. I would love to learn how to make those.
Wow!… So many cute things at The Decorated Cookie!… I love the Easy Brownie Daisies, the Conversation Heart Mini Wreath (I have a weakness for all things wreath-y), and the Coffee Bean Cookies are adorable… I’m sure there are more and I look forward to poking around her site some more!
The Mr. Melty cookies are adorable and I will definitely be doing them next winter with my grandson.
I just visited THe Decorated Cookie and I love her quick and easy idea for candy melt valentines! And the chocolate cookie pops… great ideas!
My favorites are a toss-up between some Thanksgiving turkey-looking cake pops and Veggietales cake pops. So time consuming, but very fun and worth the end results!
Gotta love the donuts from her site!
I think one of the cutest things that i made recently has got to be my ladybug cakepop, for my grandaughter’s 1st birthday.
The Harry Potter Cookies were adorable. My 9 year old would love those.
Cutest thing I’ve made is an Easter bunny cake.
her Valentine’s Hearts on her website are sooo cute…on my way to the kitchen to whip them up!
extra entry: from the Decorated Cookie: I love the sandwich cookies!! So cute!
It would have to be the bunny cakes I made every year with my kids and now my grandson. Would love to try some of these cute sweets.
The cutest that I have made are my truffle pops. I decorate them depending on the occasion…the best is when i can “freestyle” and do my own thing with bright sugars and streams of melted candy. I make them using cake or brownie with ganache instead of frosting then dip in melted candy.
I made some owl cupcakes for Halloween with oreos for eyes, M&M’s in the middle, and a split oreo for ears covered by chocolate icing. Big hit….found on Pinterest.. .go figure. 🙂
I love her cute Peeps cupcakes.
I love the Decorated Cookie. Her pig head cookies on a stick were the perfect treat for my High School English class after our Lord of the Flies unit. BEST COOKIE EVER!
The stuff on sticks!!! Love the bluebird brownie pops.
Loved making: cookie monster cupcakes with lots of blue frosting!
Loved eating: heart-shaped red velvet, cream filled whoopie pies.
❤
For my now 4-year-old daughter’s 1st birthday we had a ladybug theme. I made ladybug cupcakes using Wilton star tip #16 and the Wilton paste icing colors in red and black. Very easy and cute, just freehand. My best friend used a soccer ball cake pan and turned it into a ladybug
I loved the Vintage Hen Cake Pops on Meghan’s blog! Too cute…
I haven’t made really cute things…my are more down home!! I would love to start decorating cookies and this would be a great book to have as a go to!
Meghan’s melting snowman is adorable and will be made at my house this coming holiday season! Too-cute! ❤
My favorite thing I’ve ever made was an Elmo cake and 3D Elmo “smash cake” for my daughter’s first birthday. It was Elmo popping out of a present. It was so special because it was my first 3D cake with a ton of details and the first time I used fondant. It was also close to my heart because it was for my little girl!
I’d have to say, I was rather plesed with my shamrock cupcakes and Oreo Turkeys. I’d love to learn how to make more holiday, birthday and just for fun edible creations.
Thanks!!
I loved the candy pops, my 4 year old will want to do this. Everything’s better with sprinkles. While looking at the blog saw a couple of other great ladybug ideas;)
i made my son a dinosaur cake for his 4th birthday! Worked on it until 2am
Thanks so much for the chance. I love my little chocolates v day treats that I made for my son.

I made a zebra birthday cake for my daughter once that was pretty cute … and candy cane heart lollipops for her to give away at school yesterday!
Can’t tell you how excited I was to delve into the Sugarlicious Book. Going to attempt the easter egg pops and chickie pops. Easter is right around the corner and those stood out for me for now. I’m sure I will make everything in that book. Love it.
What a great site! I could spend so much time checking out her creations and ideas. I loved her seasonal ideas and her stuff on a stick. Super cute!!
I love her melted snowman cookies. Adorable.
Thanks. Mary n.

So proud of my daughter and me when we made our first cake pops!!
Wow! Meghan is so talented! I love everyting on her blog! But best the littlefrogs
I made Living Locurto’s owl treats out of grahm crackers and marshmellows. They came out pretty cute and were the most creative thing I’ve ever attempted. The kids at school loved them!
I would love to make those marshmallow things for my daughter’s 17th bday party!!!
the cutest dessert or treat you’ve ever made or would like to make = I made strawberry cake mix cookies a few weeks ago that turned out really cute and festive for Valentine’s Day 🙂
I LOVE the hot coacoa snowman mix she has! Adorable! All of it is super adorable though!
The cutest cake I have made is for my 1 year old nieces birthday. It was covered in little Minnie Mouse hats. All in pink and white chocolates.
I made my son 1st birthday cake with fondant monkies and bananas! It probably wasn’t perfect but I was proud of it 🙂
Loved her blog! Her cup cakes with the little books on top were so clever!!
The cutest thing I have made recently was a construction site cake using oreos (both chocolate and vanilla varieties) as the dirt, I used the dark ones to create a road the the light ones for the rest of the dirt. then I places construction equipment and caution cones in appropriate places, doing their jobs, (i.e. the dipper was digging and the dump truck was full of dirt, etc) This was a super big hit among the three year olds at the party and the adults too! I would love to win this set, I love to make special treats for my 3 year old and all of the kids at story time at the local library!

The blog is very cute. I hope that I can make cookies that well some day.
The cutest thing I’ve made are Easter basket cupcakes.
One of the cutest desserts I have ever made is a cupcake golf course! My sister-in-law and I got together and made it for a double birthday party. We made all sizes of cupcakes and then decorated them with green sugar sprinkles (grass)and white jelly beans (golf balls). We used graham cracker crumbs (sand traps) and pressed upside down chocolate chips into the cupcakes (holes), using the frosting we were able to make a textured rough and green and then caved and used toothpicks and paper for flags to mark each hole! It turned out very cute!
I love her bite sized super hero cookies! So CUTE!!
I love the Elephant cake, so cute.
Cutest thing I ever made was a Sock Monkey Cake!
On the decorated cookie blog I love the bite size holiday cookies for Christmas time! Mini food is so much cuter than regular sized food 🙂
Bonus entry- I really like the melted snowman cookies.
