You all know how much I love to share things that excite me right? Well, there’s no holding back the excitement today!! Meghan Mountford, author of one of my favorite cookie decorating books and the creative brain behind The Decorated Cookie and editor of Edible Crafts at Craft Gossip, has just released her second book, Sugarlicious, expanding her cookie craft to cupcakes, cakes and other sweet treats.
Meaghan is one of those bakers who takes cute treats to a whole new level. Sugarlicous is packed with 200 pages of adorable edible art, beautiful color photos and illustrated step-by-step directions for both the novice and seasoned bakers. The book includes cookies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cake pops, petits fours and candy clay.
You’ll learn to put sweets on sticks, color icing and frosting, pipe with a decorating bag, make fondant decorations, use edible writers and icing sheets, paint and stamp with food coloring, decorate with candies and sprinkles, and so much more. Froggy cupcakes, milkshake cake pops, mustache and bow tie cookie pops, sparkly marshmallows, a lawn ornament cake and pretty painted petits fours are just a tiny sampling of what’s inside.

As soon as my copy arrived at our door, Allison grabbed it up and has at least 5 things earmarked that “we” need to make, so I’ll be sharing some soon!

My favorite baked goody from her site was the babycakes donut maker post. I’ve been wanting to tryout that machine!
The cutest dessert/treat I ever made… none, really. The cutest one I *want* to make… when my brothers and I were young children, my mom made these “Owl Cookies”: a roll cookie with two kinds of dough, decorated with chocolate chips for eyes and a cashew nut for a beak. They were always a special treat, and I’ve yet to really try to do my mom justice by making them as good as she does!
I love all the things Meghan does with food writer pens and marshmallows. It’s so simple, but makes such a cute and easy food craft! 🙂
My favotrite treat that.I have ever made was frosted cupcakes with Angry Birds cakepops inserted in the top!
This bok is adorable! i make nothing that cute, but my 1st attempt at cakepops were pretty darn cute : )
I *love* Meaghan’s bite-sized superhero cookies! My older boys love everything superhero!

I made ghost cookies and placed them in a $1.00 store “concrete” urn, for a Halloween party.
I made a full sized 3d fondant covered rice krispy goldendoodle dog for a bday party.
The cutests thing/my favorite thing that I’ve made-so far- would have to be a volcano cake. It had a votive holder in the center, and I put dry ice in it so the volcano smoked during the whole party. The kids LOVED it 🙂
I think my cutest dessert was cakes baked in clay pots with dirt and gummy worms flowers and leaves tied with ribbon to to cute- Oh I want to win so bad-hope I do
You know I”m loving her happy cookies with dragon flies and bee’s
The cutest dessert I ever made was cookie monster cupcakes when my daughter was little. I am finally getting back into baking and cooking and I am loving it! Thanks for the great giveaway.
I love baking, trying new recipes, and being artistic when it comes to decorating cakes and cupcakes… and i ABSOLUTELY love this blog!!!
The cutest dessert I’ve made was for my niece’s 2nd birthday. I made a white, 2 layer cake with vanilla pudding in the middle and made it a Toopy and Binoo cake. As soon as she saw her cake she yelled “AUNTIE!!! TOOPY, BINOO!” she was so excited! It was the best feeling in the world seeing her so happy and excited. My Dad actually just saw a picture of the cake a few weeks ago because he wasn’t able to make it to her party because he had to work… he thought I bought it lol!
Happy Baking! 🙂
I made my cousin a rainbow cake and not only was it cute it made her day so that made it even better!

One of my favorite creations was a table-full of Tweety and Sylvester mini cakes I made for a Looney Tunes themed baby shower. They were a huge hit and so much fun to do!
It’s really hard to choose a favorite from Meaghan’s blog, but I just love her Snowflake Chocolate Sandwich Cookies that she posted in January of last year.
30+ years ago I ran out of cupcake liners the NIGHT BEFORE 30 cupcakes were needed for my son’s class. The only sub I could find in the cupboard was flat-ended ice cream cones. I filled them up 1/2 way and baked them the same time as the “papered” cupcakes. When they cooled I frosted them and they looked like an ice cream cone! I’ve been making them like that ever since.
I love anything on a “stick” so my favorite is the S’mores on a stick! What a great idea and no messy hands!
