Cocktail Mixing Tips You Need To Know
When it comes to mixing cocktails there are a few tips and tricks I always like to keep in mind that allow me to always make sure I’m making the best drinks possible. So, here are a few of my personal tips.
Get a muddler: You might think “oh I’ll just use a fork, it will be just as easy” but let me tell you it’s not. Muddlers are relatively inexpensive and worth every penny. It helps mash up the fruit perfectly in no time.
Use a labeled shot glass: This is one of those “I didn’t know I needed this until I got one” kind of moments. When using a shot glass that labels the ounces it will cut your prep time so much and will eliminate and estimating when it comes to ingredients.
Opt for fresh ingredients: I’m all about using whatever is cheapest and most easily accessible, but when it comes to a nice refreshing summer cocktail, I always opt for fresh ingredients. It really makes all the difference and will transform any drink into a professional quality beverage.
Start Summer Off Right With Raspberry Hard Iced Tea
Summer is already knocking at the front door, not sure how that happened since it seems like Christmas was last week, but whether you were prepared for it or not, it’s coming.
That means summer fun and craziness is upon us with some days filled with fun in the sun and relaxing by the pool, and some days shuttling everyone to their daily summer activities.
No matter how relaxed or busy your summer day is this season, there’s only one perfect way to end the day (or start if it’s one of those lounging kind of days) and that’s with a refreshing glass of raspberry hard iced tea cocktail.
With the ease and simplicity that comes with just picking up a jug of Milo’s tea for the base of this cocktail, it becomes the ideal beverage for summer holidays. Less time worrying about preparation means more time creating shared Milo’s Moments among family and friends, and who doesn’t love that?
Iced Tea Cocktail Variations You’ll Love
- For a party: Pour Milo’s Famous Sweet Tea in a pitcher and add a handful of raspberries and several lemon slices. Refrigerate an hour or more to let the flavors mingle. Guests can drink it as is, or let them make their own cocktail and pour the infused tea over ice and add a shot of whiskey. Have raspberries and mint leaves on hand for garnish.
- For a less sweet version: Make this hard iced tea cocktail with Milo’s Famous Unsweet Tea and make a raspberry simple syrup(recipe below) or add raspberry liquor.
- For a lemonade twist: Make a hard Arnold Palmer, use half sweet tea and half lemonade
- For a hard raspberry cooler: top it off with sparkling water for a refreshing cooler
- For those who don’t prefer dark liquor: experiment with different alcohol – try tequila or raspberry infused vodka
How To Make Raspberry syrup:
- Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/ cup water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add 1 cup of raspberries and bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Cover and let steep for 10 minutes.
- Strain syrup and cool completely. Store in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
