We are ALL amazing! Did you know that part of being amazing means we need to take care of our bodies, and that starts with taking care of our heart!
We as parents are all too aware that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we can take care of our heart by eating a “heart healthy” breakfast. Breakfast has always been my favorite meal of the day, and nothing beats a quick and easy bowl of Quaker Oatmeal, it sets the tone for the rest of the day. I like to mix in a little peanut butter or top with some fruit and if I have a little extra time my family loves Baked Peanut Butter Oatmeal.
Eating right, exercise and education—are key steps to taking care of your heart.
Get a good breakfast. Every day.
Get enough rest.
Get regular exercise.
Find more time to enjoy life.
Maintain a positive attitude.
You’re never to old or to young to start taking care of your heart. February is American Heart Month and Quaker is celebrating by donating $1.00 to the American Heart Association for each current Facebook fan and every new person who “likes” the Quaker Facebook Page during the month of February (up to $250,000). The money donated by Quaker will benefit the AHA’s new program My Heart. My Life, which helps bring healthy cooking curriculum to after-school organizations across the country! In addition, Quaker will donate $1, (up to $125,000), for each new Facebook “like.”

We tried the Baked Peanut Butter Oatmeal recipe & LOVE it. I love my oatmeal with a little butter, milk, & sugar. We also like a recipe called “Healthiest Muffins ever” from Dr. Spears book “Healthiest kids in the neighborhood”. I “liked” Quaker on Facebook. We are trying to cut out sugar, by reading labels & avoiding things with High Fructose corn syrup..which is just about anything that’s not fresh…
yummy. cinnamon and brown sugar of course.
Thanks.
Mary

I love oatmeal sprinkled with brown sugar or drizzled with maple syrup. I also like to grind it up in the blender and add it to my chocolate chip cookie recipe in place of some of the flour. Yum.

I eat QO for breakfast with fat free yogurt and frozen or fresh fruit. LOVE IT! Weight Watchers friendly….
I LIKE on Face book….Quaker Oatmeal rocks heart health!
My favorite way to eat quaker oatmeal is for breakfast with some brown sugar. The breakfast bars and cookies are yummy too!
Here’s how I like it:
Plain QO oatmeal mixed with 1/4 cup water, 1 T fat free half and half, 1 T canned pumpkin, 1 T sugar, 1/4 tsp. heart healthy margarine. I add chopped apples to the top. Mmmmm.
I love oatmeal but I’m pretty boring with it! I usually just mix in some cinnamon and Truvia. And if I feel really daring I might add in some chopped apple. 😀
