I think most of us know the heartache of Dead Battery Syndrome. My iphone has become such a lifeline and important part of my life keeping me connected to friends and family and allows me to work while I’m away from home.
So my biggest fear is having my phone die when I’m out and about. When I travel, I have the biggest anxiety about seeing the dreaded 10% battery warning! You can always carry a charger cord in your purse or car, but lets face it – if you are lucky enough to find an outlet while your out, you usually can’t sit by it while your phone charges for an hour or more.

I recently had the chance to try out the PowerTrip and PowerStick+, just in time for my recent trip to Austin for BlogHer Food for Whirlpool.

The PowerTrip Charger:
This charger looks like a white plastic brick, and is about the size of a deck of cards and it’s the cream of the portable chargers crop! This charger can be charged from three different sources: a wall outlet, a computer’s USB jack or ….and I love this one……. the sun. That’s right! there is a solar panel on the back for topping off the charge.
The PowerTrip has a huge backup battery: 6,000 milliamps, enough to recharge an iPad once or a smartphone three times. This comes in REALLY handy if you have friends or family with you who are jealous when they find out you just charged your phone while riding a roller coaster and their phone is about to die 😉
This charge also doubles as a flash drive, with four, eight or 16 gigabytes of storage! Just a nice little added bonus.
The PowerTrip is super easy to use and has a handy little gauge on the side shows you how much charge remains in the gizmo.
It comes with three cords of its own — the traditional Apple 30-pin connector, mini-USB and micro-USB . Since I have the iPhone 5, I just use the cord that came with my phone.

I’m constantly “in motion” and often don’t have the time to charge my android. This would be a “life-saver”!
My car charger is broken and I usually charge my cell on the drive to work. This would be very helpful.
I’m a sign language interpreter and am constantly on-the-go. I get info on my assignments via text/email and so I need my cell to work! This would be a great “back-up”!
I’m an active Mom and in-between the kids activities, work, shopping………etc, I rarely sit down. Keeping in touch with everyone is important and this would ensure my cell was up to the task.

I go to free concerts that our City sponsors every Tues, Wed & Sunday. I take my tablet or e-reader along with my cellphone. I read my books while listening to the music and check ML Pgh Pirates baseball scores on my cell phone. I use Internet on the Go for my wi-fi tablet and something always runs low on the batteries. I’m glued to my iPhone and this would give me peace of mind that I would always be able to recharge my iPhone regardless of where I am. I think Hello Kitty would look cute on it.
I spend a lot of time in the hospital and at doctor offices and the power trip portable charger would come in handy.
My husband would love it if my phone were charged ALL the time. It gets frustrating when people can’t get a hold of you when your phone goes dead at the most inconvienent times.

This would just be so practical. I know we are all a bit obsessed with our gadgets but this little device could remove some unnecessary stress from our lives 🙂 Of course I would put my children’s pic on it.

I use a lot of apps on my phone when shopping and I hate having the battery die in the middle of the store. Then there are those days out at the barn and no place to plug in. I need the phone fully charged when out on a long trail ride so in case of an emergency. My pride and joy is my horse. I put his picture everywhere.

this would be soooo handy i have a blackberry that i use all the time (listen to music, read kindle books) and the battery doesn’t last a day, i do work from home so i can typically charge it, but am either tethered to the wall or have to put it down for awhile (and it always seems to die in the evening when I’m wanting to carry it around while cleaning or relax and read on the couch where there are no close outlets.) this would also be great for charging it while camping this summer, last year with all the tech we charged (we sooo do not unplug camping, so much easier to have a dozen books on e device then in paper form!) we killed the huge van battery…..
This charger looks amazing and I want it! I just returned from a trip to NYC with four grade school friends but wasn’t able to take many pictures because my phone iPhone 4S wouldn’t keep a charge, I even went to the Genius Bar in grand central station for help…they didn’t help me. :(. I didn’t bring my camera, because I just moved and hadn’t been able to find it in the boxes. I learned that there are not enough outlets on tour buses, restaurants or tourists stops. I love it! Since I’m always on the run teaching, softball and baseball tournaments on the weekends, and visiting family back home it would be perfect. My car charger only works half the time, and traveling without the charger working and a phone half dead this would be great. On ball weekends this would be perfect for me and the kids to use to charge our phones, cameras, and video games that never fail to die by the end if an all day tournament!
