Do you have a room in your house that could use a fresh new look? If you despise the prep or clean-up parts of a painting project, then you are going to love this giveaway!
Late last year, we got rid of the old carpet in our family room and replaced it with laminate wood flooring – which I LOVE!
While all the furniture was out of the room, I decided it was the perfect time to get rid of the old dark color on the walls!
I decided to brighten up this room, get rid of the country decor and paint the walls a very light gray with white trim. My curtains are yellow with brown and gray – they are the inspiration for my new space.
The folks at Procter & Gamble have a few products to make the dreaded tasks of painting prep and clean up a breeze!
I have always been a big fan of the Swiffer Sweepers. Not only are they great on furniture and floors, did you know they are wonderful for getting cobwebs off the corners of your walls and dust off the hard-to-reach places as well? The head of the Sweeper swivels a full 360 degrees, making it easy to move around corners and the pole allows for easy floor to ceiling reach, and baseboards, windows, doorways, too.
Since I choose to just paint our existing stained baseboards white, I needed to make sure they were good and clean. That’s where Mr. Clean Magic Erasers came in! Did you know you can now get them in select a size? Those things are genius I tell you! I’m amazed at what all you can clean with the Magic Erasers – they are unstoppable.

So, here is where I am now. After the new floors and new paint……..you know what came next right? New furniture!! You may not know this about me, but when it comes to making large purchases………I’m TERRIBLE! I can’t make a decision, so it usually ends up taking me months, or never, which is why you don’t see me updating our house too much. I’m a terrible decision maker!
But sometimes when you see IT…….you just know it! I saw this Martha Stewart Saybridge Sofa from Macy’s a few weeks ago, then it went on sale President’s Day weekend! and knew I found my true love! It has the style and elegance I wanted, with the size my 6’4″ husband wanted.
So the sofa and love seat will be delivered soon. I actually received an email while I was writing this post that they are ready to schedule delivery!! {SQUEAL}
So next up, I’ll be looking for a new rug, new tables, get rid of the roll-top oak desk (that was from my bedroom when I was growing up!) and possibly a new TV stand. And fun stuff for the walls! I want to keep the window treatments, I purchased them last year, and love them.
How about you? Can you decorate with your eyes closed, or are you like me and take forever to make every single decision? At least I know it’s clean!
THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. Congrats to Leslie Moore.

Well, admiring it and receiving the compliments when it is done, of course!
I am sorry, I hit post prematurely! I wanted to wish you a very Happy Birthday!
The most inexpensive way to freshen a room is to paint. We must have great insulation because after being in my house for 38 years I must have painted each room 10 times. I really enjoy the cutting in. It allows me to practice patience.
I love thinking of the possibilities of a room. It starts with choosing the color and thinking what I could do with it.
Love this sofa…
My couch & chair are from Macy’s as well!! From the Chloe collection. I love them!! Well, and that I got them from Craigslist for a fantastic price and in almost perfect condition!! Love the look!!
My favorite part of painting is picking out the color, and then ripping off the blue painter’s tape at the end to see the clean lines. 🙂
I love how fresh and clean a room is after it has been freshly painted.
Best part is when you get enough color on the wall to see the difference between the old and new. =)
I love the trim work! Cutting in at the ceiling and around the baseboards!
Removing the painters tape from all the molding…because then i know we are done
It would have to be peeling off the blue tape! 🙂
I love rolling a new color over the walls…seeing fast progress! 😀
I love picking out colors and watching how the paint completely changes the look of each space! 🙂
I love rolling on the new paint. Also, I like doing painting techniques.
I love picking out the new color and painting with the whole family so it is more fun and takes less time.
Hi. I AM LIVING IN A HOME THAT HAS NOT BEEN REMODELED SINCE 1972 . WOULD LOVE TO WIN TO HAVE MY SMALL KITCHEN, DINING ROOM AND SMALL LIViNG ROOM THAT IS PART OF THE OLD HOUSE BUILT 80+ YEARS AGO. I AM DISABLED SO DON’T HAVE MONEY FOR ANY IMPROVEMENTS. THANK YOU
I posted on Facebook and Pinterest too.
I stink at picking a color! Takes me so long, but I love the actual painting, very relaxing!

I enjoy picking the color!
I really like to paint the trim!
My favorite part of the painting project is half way through when you can see how much of a difference the new color is from the old. Paint really can transform a room!
Love the picking of the color, prep work and the actual painting. Hate the clean-up…
I usually paint around the trim and ceiling and my husband paints the walls.
The part I like the most is when the cleanup is finished!
I can count on a great paint job with Bear paint its all I use in and on my house. The best part of painting for me is when the paint dries. Thats when the fun starts and your dreams come true. I will post on facebook.
My favorite part of painting is when it is done. A close second would be when I put the first paint on the wall. I love seeing the new color.
Picking out the color!
I LOVE painting the major parts of a wall. It’s so exhilarating seeing the color on the wall for the first time! 🙂
I love the painting. It feels relaxing to me!
My favorite part of painting is at the end, peeling the painting tape off of the woodwork. That means the job is done and I can put the room back together.
I love picking colors!
I do the rolling and my husband paints around the ceiling and trim.
My favorite part is when it’s done. LOL.
Picking colors and putting the room back together!
love to look at all the colors to pick from!
I love rolling it on the wall. Especially, the first roll..It’s almost magical to me to see the wall go from white to ocean blue or red or sage green. It makes me so excited for a fresh start and a big change!
I love picking out the color and the satisfaction of pulling away the tape at the end of the project!
I do not enjoy painting much at all. My favorite part is probably picking out the color. Fortunately, my husband really enjoys painting and he is really tall so it’s pretty easy for him!
I love putting everything back together at the end!
I love seeing the final product. I hate the taping but know it is a necessity. Thanks for the chance. 🙂
Posted to twitter but don’t know how to show you that I did.
My favorite part is when it is over and everything looks so clean and awesome
My favorite part is peeling off the painters tape and gazing at my handiwork from a chair!
I just love to paint!!!!
My favorie part of painting is when I am all finished and can sit back and enjoy how lovely he room looks!
I love everything about painting!! Even the parts I don’t love quite as much, like filling nail holes and taping. It all means that I’m going to have freshly painted walls with a beautiful color that makes me happy!! 🙂
I love picking out the colors
I love the rolling part. It’s satisfying to see a big wide sheath of new color go up on the wall, and I like the way it sounds. 🙂
