Do you have a room in your house that could use a fresh new look? If you despise the prep or clean-up parts of a painting project, then you are going to love this giveaway!
Late last year, we got rid of the old carpet in our family room and replaced it with laminate wood flooring – which I LOVE!
While all the furniture was out of the room, I decided it was the perfect time to get rid of the old dark color on the walls!
I decided to brighten up this room, get rid of the country decor and paint the walls a very light gray with white trim. My curtains are yellow with brown and gray – they are the inspiration for my new space.
The folks at Procter & Gamble have a few products to make the dreaded tasks of painting prep and clean up a breeze!
I have always been a big fan of the Swiffer Sweepers. Not only are they great on furniture and floors, did you know they are wonderful for getting cobwebs off the corners of your walls and dust off the hard-to-reach places as well? The head of the Sweeper swivels a full 360 degrees, making it easy to move around corners and the pole allows for easy floor to ceiling reach, and baseboards, windows, doorways, too.
Since I choose to just paint our existing stained baseboards white, I needed to make sure they were good and clean. That’s where Mr. Clean Magic Erasers came in! Did you know you can now get them in select a size? Those things are genius I tell you! I’m amazed at what all you can clean with the Magic Erasers – they are unstoppable.

So, here is where I am now. After the new floors and new paint……..you know what came next right? New furniture!! You may not know this about me, but when it comes to making large purchases………I’m TERRIBLE! I can’t make a decision, so it usually ends up taking me months, or never, which is why you don’t see me updating our house too much. I’m a terrible decision maker!
But sometimes when you see IT…….you just know it! I saw this Martha Stewart Saybridge Sofa from Macy’s a few weeks ago, then it went on sale President’s Day weekend! and knew I found my true love! It has the style and elegance I wanted, with the size my 6’4″ husband wanted.
So the sofa and love seat will be delivered soon. I actually received an email while I was writing this post that they are ready to schedule delivery!! {SQUEAL}
So next up, I’ll be looking for a new rug, new tables, get rid of the roll-top oak desk (that was from my bedroom when I was growing up!) and possibly a new TV stand. And fun stuff for the walls! I want to keep the window treatments, I purchased them last year, and love them.
How about you? Can you decorate with your eyes closed, or are you like me and take forever to make every single decision? At least I know it’s clean!
THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. Congrats to Leslie Moore.

Picking out the color, I think is the best part!
I like clearing the room and knowing that it’s clean under all of the furniture when things are placed back inside.
I like the finished product! When all of the furniture is back in the room – the difference is amazing!
My favorite part about painting is re-decorating the walls after the project is done!
My favorite part of the process is actually getting the paint onto the wall. There’s something therapeutic about it!!
My favorite part of the project is always when its over.
My favorite part is standing back and loving it after it is all done!
Pick the color is definitely the best part.
My husband is the resident painter at our house – I really don’t do any of the work. So, I would have to say my favorite part is choosing the color.
Picking out the color and seeing the finished look!
My favorite part is picking out the color. I enjoy painting, but it can be very time consuming and become tedious if you have many rooms to do.
I love the finished product!
Picking out the color for me. I HATE painting.
I always have fun picking the paint, and then the final reveal is great…moving things back in, putting on finishing touches, and then SHOWING IT OFF 😉
Thank you so much!
I enjoy picking out the color and always enjoy the reward of the fresh new look.
I love walking into a newly painted room! The smell, the cleanliness, the freshness! I love it!
picking out the color
I LOVE STANDIN BACK AND TAKING A FRESH LOOK AT THE FINISHED PROJECT.
I love picking out the color and actually painting.
Love picking out a new color (or colors!!!). The whole part about bringing home pain samples and thinking about what else may need to be changed, like curtains and pillows and throw rugs, just a lot of fun.
I am fixing to buy a home and am planning on redo it, this would really help me out a lot.
Definitely picking out the color and the painting itself. . can be fun if you have help! 🙂
My favorite part is removing the painters tape from the baseboards when I’m done and seeing the nice, clean lines and edges!
For sure picking out the color!!
Picking the color and painting it on. It is amazing how clean and neat the room becomes when you paint.
I love to pick out the colors. I don’t like having any room white, so I look for fun, vibrant colors.
My favourite part of painting is pulling off the tape when I’m done and checking out that crisp, clean edge! (Unless the paint bleeds. Oops.)
Picking the color, and the first brushstroke…. to see what the color REALLY is! lol
Enjoying the finished job after my hubby does all the work 😉 I hate painting!! haha!
I love picking a color of paint and seeing it on the wall! Everything looks so fresh and new! Need to do that this spring, mine is so old now!!!
I think my favorite part about painting is…..when it’s all done and I can finish decorating.
After painting a room, I really enjoy rearranging and reorganizing and remaking the room into something different!
My favorite part is when the painting is finished and moving the furniture back in. Great giveaway!
I love that sofa too- it’s gorgeous!!!!
I would say picking out the colors & all the things that come after that with coordinating & designing once the color is up- I love that process.
I love enjoying how fresh everything is while I sit with my feet propped up….and a heating pad on my back! Worth the minor pain though 🙂
I love the whole process of painting a room. i feel like i am an artist even though i am not artsy at all.
My favorite part is when it’s finished! ha-ha!
PS – I am in love with your sofa!!!
I like enjoying the finished job. That’s the best part.
I love picking out the color – I spend months obsessing over color. Then I’m soooo excited to see the results!
I love the end, when it’s finished! Ha ha! I am not good at making decisions either. I’m also not good at getting things done in a timely manner. I’d have to say the cleaning part is what I’m best at doing.
The only part of a painting project that I like is rolling. Do not enjoy trimming at all.
Ha! It being finished? lol! 😉
I agree with Paula! Cleaning up the mess and enjoying the beautiful new color is my favorite part.
My favorite part is probably picking out the color.
The reasons for painting a room varies from just wanting a new color, to needing a new coat of paint, to moving. Whatever the reason, it’s a great opportunity to let your inner artist shine. You get to pick the colors and try out different hues. You get to add your accents and patterns. And the best thing about it is, unlike a bad haircut, you don’t have to wait for it to grow out if you don’t like it, you can just grab a different color and paint over the top of it. The task is sometimes daunting, but in the end when you are enjoying the room you pulled together from walls to carpet to furniture it is the best feeling and reward.
I love when its done! It is pretty instant gratification for transforming a room.
I like using the roller when painting and trimming isn’t so bad. Thanks!
WAIT? There is supposed to be a favorite part when painting??
My favorite part of painting is picking colors and when I am finished. I can’t stand my house being out of order so the actual act of painting I don’t like.
My favorite part is peeling away the painetr’s tape to see those clean sharp lines! 🙂
