Do you have a room in your house that could use a fresh new look? If you despise the prep or clean-up parts of a painting project, then you are going to love this giveaway!
Late last year, we got rid of the old carpet in our family room and replaced it with laminate wood flooring – which I LOVE!
While all the furniture was out of the room, I decided it was the perfect time to get rid of the old dark color on the walls!
I decided to brighten up this room, get rid of the country decor and paint the walls a very light gray with white trim. My curtains are yellow with brown and gray – they are the inspiration for my new space.
The folks at Procter & Gamble have a few products to make the dreaded tasks of painting prep and clean up a breeze!
I have always been a big fan of the Swiffer Sweepers. Not only are they great on furniture and floors, did you know they are wonderful for getting cobwebs off the corners of your walls and dust off the hard-to-reach places as well? The head of the Sweeper swivels a full 360 degrees, making it easy to move around corners and the pole allows for easy floor to ceiling reach, and baseboards, windows, doorways, too.
Since I choose to just paint our existing stained baseboards white, I needed to make sure they were good and clean. That’s where Mr. Clean Magic Erasers came in! Did you know you can now get them in select a size? Those things are genius I tell you! I’m amazed at what all you can clean with the Magic Erasers – they are unstoppable.

So, here is where I am now. After the new floors and new paint……..you know what came next right? New furniture!! You may not know this about me, but when it comes to making large purchases………I’m TERRIBLE! I can’t make a decision, so it usually ends up taking me months, or never, which is why you don’t see me updating our house too much. I’m a terrible decision maker!
But sometimes when you see IT…….you just know it! I saw this Martha Stewart Saybridge Sofa from Macy’s a few weeks ago, then it went on sale President’s Day weekend! and knew I found my true love! It has the style and elegance I wanted, with the size my 6’4″ husband wanted.
So the sofa and love seat will be delivered soon. I actually received an email while I was writing this post that they are ready to schedule delivery!! {SQUEAL}
So next up, I’ll be looking for a new rug, new tables, get rid of the roll-top oak desk (that was from my bedroom when I was growing up!) and possibly a new TV stand. And fun stuff for the walls! I want to keep the window treatments, I purchased them last year, and love them.
How about you? Can you decorate with your eyes closed, or are you like me and take forever to make every single decision? At least I know it’s clean!
THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED. Congrats to Leslie Moore.

i like being done! it’s also fun to pick out new colors and to try to imagine what the end result will be.
The smell of fresh paint.
I love tearing the painter’s tape off after the painting is done! (That is, so long as I haven’t forgotten about it and end up with paint on the sticky side of the tape coming up!)
I love picking out the colors and rolling it on the wall but not cutting in! Thank goodness for my dad being the ‘perfect’ painter and always helping us! We’ve been promising to paint my son’s room so this makes me excited! 🙂
For me it’s planning the project, picking the color, and seeing it get done.
I like the part where I get to shout “Done!”
Seriously, that’s about it. I love the change, but hate the work.
I Love how it makes you feel refreshed….like you accomplished something that makes your home feel new! I’ve been painting our upstairs for almost a month…our washer overflowed and flooded our upstairs and garage…it’s been a nightmare, but I’ve used the time of remodeling to paint and it’s made me feel alittle better about it all! I just wish it didn’t hurt my body so much!
I love picking out the color!
Picking out the color.
I like the finished product! So fresh and so new.
The part I most despise is painting the ceiling. Absolutely hate it- I will paint 3 rooms of walls before I want to do a ceiling. 🙂
My favorite part of painting is picking out the colors and watching the transformation. There is something so amazing about what paint can do… but typically painting for me is much better in theory 🙂
I actually love painting! I don’t like taping but painting a whole wall is very rewarding.
My favorite part is seeing the finished results!
My favorite part is painting with the roller!
i like painting the bigger walls-not near any trim!
My favorite part is painting the big walls.
I just love using the roller brush…so fun! 🙂
I enjoy the mindlessness of the rolling. Everything else stresses me out!
I like re-arranging the room since I have to move the furniture anyway, and having a new color and a new look once I am done painting.
My favorite part is admiring all of my hard work 🙂
I like when it’s done the best! 🙂
My favorite part is the first roll of paint on the wall…and then the last when it is all done!
I like picking out the colors…the rest is actual work, and I never fail to splatter myself with paint 😉
Picking out the color and laying the base coat
I like removing the masking tape revealing the nice clean edge.

I love picking out the perfect color!
I actually enjoy the painting! …and all the compliments afterwards.
My favorite part is when it’s all done. Just changing a paint color can change the whole feel of a room.
i love picking out color!
Picking out color.
I love picking out colors and testing swatches!
I’m in the midst of a huge re-do of my children’s bedrooms right now. I love letting my fingers do the walking and discovering amongst the paint chips! Seeing and touching the colors get the creative juices flowing!
I love hanging paint chips on the wall and taking my time taking one.down.at.a.time!
I have to see different lights, shadows, then poof, I rip one off the wall til one remains!
I love when half the room is done and you can start to see the difference
Being near the end of a complete basement remodel, my favorite part of the painting process is being done!!!
My favorite part of painting is cleaning up because that is when I know I am finished.
I love putting the room back together!
The part of a painting project that I like most is when it’s DONE!!!
The end result is DEFINITELY the best part!
My favorite part is having it all done and cleaned up!
I love to see how excited my kids are when it is finished. Paint color makes such a change- I think my kids think it is magical!
Picking the color!
Seeing the finished product!
seeing how clean everything looks
Has to be re-organizing the room after the new color has been put ont he walls!
