I’m so honored that Cheryl invited me to share with you today! After giving it a lot of thought, I decided there was no better way to get to know each other than by inviting you into our home. On my blog, I was frequently asked how I maintained an organized “white” home with 3 children. To be honest, it’s not perfect, but there are some simple storage solutions that make it completely doable, without a lot of stress or effort. It’s all about creating spaces that are functional for you & your family, based on how you live & enjoy your home.
Let’s get started, shall we? We’re friends, right? Come on in through the garage & you’ll enter what was once merely a dark, dreary laundry room. We removed the carpet, painted the floor & converted the closet into a mudroom where we could immediately leave shoes, coats, bags, etc or grab sunscreen, picnic blankets & hats on our way out.
Next you’ll enter the hearth room where the girls enjoyed reading books. We used an end table & coffee table that opened for easily accessible storage of books, toys & blankets.
The kitchen was small, but I maximized every inch of cabinet space, resulting in empty cabinets!
Bookcases & baskets created space for games & toys that the girls could put away themselves in the living room.
I used an antique dresser in the dining room with a multi-functional bar cart that easily transitions based on our entertaining needs.
Of course closets are great storage, when utilized well! Get the details for this linen closet makeover.
What I’m most proud of is how we transformed our small step-in closet to a gorgeous walk-in closet – in just 2 nap times! I used cigar boxes, baseball gloves & more to store ties, watches, etc, adding even more function.
I’d love to have you over more often! Subscribe here to receive my posts via email or here for my 10 day organization challenge through the end of the month of January. Of course there’s always plenty of inspiration on the blog for home, entertaining & DIY! You’re welcome any time.
Thanks for joining me today!
