I got some really great gifts for Christmas this year and I can’t wait to share some of them with you over the next few weeks.
Back in October I went to Dallas for the I Heart Faces Conference and my good friend Amy picked me up from the airport. After a quick hug, the first thing I noticed was the stylish and inspiring wrap bracelet she was wearing.
As soon as I got home, I had to look it up and was even MORE impressed by the company that makes the bracelet, Good Work(s) Make a Difference ®.
Created by momprenuer Helena Cho, each colorful bracelet is embossed with a number of uplifting and motivating phases such as “forgive,” “strength,” be aware,” “faith,” “freedom,” “accept diversity.”
But, here’s the best part…… Good Work(s) is a brand with a purpose ..…not only do these bracelets make you look and feel good, but, by purchasing one you are helping to do good! 25% of the net profits go to good causes. By helping those in need, Good Work(s) is able to send girls to the prom who couldn’t afford their dresses and help children through college when their mom has passed away from breast cancer. In 2012 Good Work(s) had a goal is to move 120 homeless families off the streets and into furnished homes in their “Home Sweeter Home for the Homeless” campaign. As soon as I laid my eyes on my Amy’s bracelet, I knew I had to have one but after reading about this celebrity loved fashion, I wanted one even more. So, I sent the link to the Silver Come Together Metallic Bracelet to my daughter with the subject line “Santa gift”;)
I love mine so much, I would love to give 2 TidyMom readers the Happy Days Wrap Around Bracelet, winner can pick the color.

My husband and I raked the leaves in our neighbors yard.
Baby sat a friend’s child free of charge so that she and her husband could have a much-needed date night! 🙂
During the holidays, a single, recently laid off mom, who doesn’t attend our church, called our church and asked for help so that she could provide some Christmas gifts for her 3 young children. Though our congregation quickly jumped in to help, we offered up my husband’s (though not large) Christmas bonus. Felt really wonderful thinking we helped!
I often will give homeless people blankets I carry in my car…But thats not what I want to share My sister gave a (unknow) family a Christmas they would not have had. She works at a restaurant she raised money to have a family as guest at the restuarant and gave them three large bags of wrapped toys and clothes for the parents to put under the tree.
These bracelets are beautiful. And thanks for hosting again. I’d say the best ‘Good’ thing I’ve done would have to be running a half marathon for a childrens charity. I’m pretty unfit and all exercise pretty much scares me so i trained as little as i could get away with and still managed to run the whole thing and made over 200 euro for my charity 😀
Every Tuesday after I drop my kiddos off at their learning center, I go to my church’s outreach center where I get the pleasure of helping 3-4 other wonderful women, prepare food. Which we then, from 11:00 until 1:00, feed to anyone, who comes in. We have fed over 1050 meals in the last year, with the largest on one day being 250 people. Every Tuesday, the people of my community know that they can get a free hot meal prepared with lots of love and prayer. It not only blesses them but it blesses me as well.
My husband & I gave some money to a single mom of 4 boys so that she could buy Christmas presents for them. Love the bracelets! Thanks for the give away!
Something good I do and try to do every day is pray for my hubby!
I am a blood donor, so I donate whenever I can, randomly as well as direct donation.
I do good by being a listener and confidant – so many people that I know have problems of various types. They know they can come to me and I will listen to them and not repeat one word of what they have confided in me. They know they can trust me with their problems and that the whole world will not soon know their private thoughts and doings.
My partners work every year does a Christmas party for less fortunate children of all ages at their activity center. They also take gifts. I donated several toys as I do every year but, this year I also added some headwraps for “older” girls and cool hats that I crochet for “older” boys..I hope they enjoyed them. I am not working on crocheting up some more “loveys” to take our local police dept. for kids going through a rough time and may need a little comfort…or just because. The bracelets and the cause is just awesome thanks for telling me about it.
These are SUCH cute bracelets! Thank you for the chance, & happy new year!!
I’m a family/lifestyle photographer & I just got done photographing a military family that couldn’t afford photos. It felt A-mazing!!
I am uncomfortable talking about the nice things I do for others. Sure, there were some larger more noticeable things over the holidays that everyone seems to participate in. However, the smaller and seemingly insignificant yet most important would be the moments that I stop myself from reacting, exert a little more patience with my children and when choosing between being right and being kind, kindness wins.
Fun bracelets! I can’t think of any life changing good deeds I’ve done, but I like doing little things for my kids, husband, friends and family. Baking fresh bread for a friend, writing a note to my hubby, telling my three year old he can have a special treat while we’re out. 🙂
Love the bracelets.
A friend was in a tragic car accident and lost her daughter on Christmas Day, we’ve let her know that we’ll do anything to help her and her family and also purchased a gift card for the grocery store to help a bit with meals. Her husband remains in the hospital in critical condition. So right now, all we can do is pray and be there for them.
I am a Kinship Partner. Which is a mentoring program in out community.
At Christmas time, I always give my hair dresser a handmade card and money. This year I wanted all hair dressers to have a little something special too. I made little tea bag pouches that held 2 bags of tea and then added my favorite Busken Bakery Christmas tea cookies, all tied together with matching ribbon. Everyone was so surprised and it made me feel very good.
My Mom’s house flooded while she was out of town closing down my Grannie’s house after she passed away. I am in charge of handling the insurance headache and playing general contractor having her house put back together for her. I also, volunteer at our church teaching a group of kids that come from several different churches in the area a craft life skill once a month. I would love to win a bracelet for my mom, but if I won, I might just have to keep it for myself. No, I would give it to my mom, just might have to borrow it! She’s a great woman who has been through a lot the last two years. I only hope I can be a woman as strong as she is when I have to be.
My shorties and I stood in the cold for 3 hours ringing the Salvation Army bell again this year! 🙂
I make quilts in my spare time….mostly child size and lap size. I have made over 400 quilts in the last 20 years and only have 4 in my home. I have only sold one quilt in all these years. Some have been given to others for good deeds. The rest (which is the majority) have went to cancer patients, childrens hospital, and nursing homes. I am known as the “quilt lady” in our community! Every time someone has fabric, thread, buttons, or any craft supply they no longer need they bring it to me! I am always greatful for the donations, because I can put them to good use in making something else. Thanks for the opportunity!
We made lumminares for the houses on our street.
surprised everyone.
Been sending cards each day for a friend going through Chemo and Radiation for Cancer.
My family and I have committed to doing random acts of kindness for the whole year in memory of those victim of violent acts- I would love this as a reminder or at least the link to buy them for my family as a reminder of our pledge.
I am taking care of my Mother who has kidney disease and has taken herself off dialysis. So very hard for me to do, but I do itbecause love her! She took care of me and now it is my turn.
My heart is in education and I know how little teachers make. I always keep an eye out for clearance and bargain items that are useful to a teacher and then donate them to my local elementary school.
I love these bracelets. I buy lightly used blankets, towels, rugs, pillows, etc. at garage sales and donate them to local vetinarians and animal shelters.
In an effort to help my kids to understand the importance and joy of giving we have done several things for others the past couple of weeks but the two that I am most proud of are;
1. we have a neighbor who just had hip replacement surgery. The kids and I are helping to care for her (cook, clean etc.) and her two Great Danes, while she recovers. This has made life much easier for her especially with the dogs as she can not even take them out to potty right now.
2.We hosted a hot cocoa stand and all of the proceeds were donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief last weekend.
What beautiful and inspiring bracelets! An elderly man used to live across the street from us. We used to visit him with fresh goodies from the garden, and from our baking adventures. We miss him!
My family has been collecting toys and shoes for the victims of the recent cyclone in Fiji. Usually we donate our items via the local charity collection bins, but this time it feels more personal because a friend of ours was affected and is involved in the distribution of the donations.
I made a meal for a new mommy!
Love the bracelets!! I have 5 boys, so when we get or use out of something we like to donate it to the organization that helped me through my hard times.
I am a secret inspirer for 2school teachers this year. I love how it lifts them up after a long day.
I help take care of my Mother who has Alzheimer’s……babysit my 2 grandchildren …we have just found out my younger sister has cancer.I have been going back an forth to be with her and will stay with her after the surgery….we send packages to our soldiers from our group at church. What a Blessing to here from them. What would we be if we didn’t help other’s?
Awesome bracelets! Now that mom is getting older I’ve stepped in to continue the Sunday dinners & holiday feasts & she can sit back & enjoy!
I make quilts, knit hats and scarves and prayer shawls. All are given to shelters in the area.
We help out my elderly neighbor especially since she lost her husband two years ago my hubby gets up at 5am before he goes to work snow blows for her every time it snows we help out with her sweet dog we have a key to her house so we go in and check on her and take her baked goodies!
We help with summer yard work and do what ever she needs help with she is so sweet and thankful.
What fabulous bracelets! Would love to win one. My good deed: I cleaned my college-aged son’s room! No small feat, this involved 5 loads of laundry, LOL! But, he’s worth it. 😉
I’ve helped serve lunch for a family before the funeral of their loved one.
It is such little thing but I have made an effort to compliment one of my coworkers as often as possible. This person is having a rough first year of teaching but his class is awesome. I have told EVERYONE how great they are. Because you know they did not get they way alone!!
Oh and I love the bracelet!!
I’m a volunteer cheerleading coach and I also open my home to my neighbor girls (ages 8 and 12), who lost their mom to cancer a few years ago, to hang out and have some “female” time.
Part of our churches ACTS ministry and we give free meals to the community. Take care of our elderly neighbor.
I just finished knitting a scarf to auction off, benefiting a lupus charity. As a fellow lupie, I love helping out others with this disease and many other chronic diseases.
I do volunteer work through my church for various charities!
Well, first I love your brown sweater – can you share where it was purchased (not afraid to ask). Secondly, what really awesome bracelets. Thirdly, I have learned to not dwell on what I do for others as it seems to be boasting and more about me than others. I do, however, get loads of pleasure from encouraging others especially women, young and old. Isn’t it wonderful to do something unexpected.
Thank you for the unexpected gift of the possibility of winning.
Choose Joy and give thanks for the small blessings/gifts of the ordinary!
The best thing I have done is ongoing…I am always donating my time and money to causes that I believe in. My latest one is for an autism dog for my son’s friend. They cost $16,000 dollars and we are fundraising now. I love to make a difference no matter how small.
Love the brackets! My daughter “s bd is next week and
I’m tempted to buy her a set. because if I won, I wouldn’t”t give her mine. Lol the last nice thing I did for someone was today. I baked a dozen muffins and gave half away to my friend who hasn’t been feeling well. It brightened her day.
I bake casseroles to take to the local Ronald McDonald House so the families staying there can have a nice home cooked meal in the evenings. I also tell all my friends about helping out and we gather cleaning and home supplies to take to them too..It is so wonderful to make a real difference when families are truly in need.
I gave my husband a neck/head/back rub to soothe his headache.

This year, as a Christmas present, I collected lap blankets for the 90 residents that live in a nursing in my hometown. The look on their faces was PRICELESS !!!!
I adore those bracelets! They are just the thing to give a girl a little inspiration and lift a gloomy mood. I tutor (for free) at a local college for a few hours every week.
I took cookies to some friends that were studying for part 2 of their board exam–I figured they could use some chocolate 🙂
