I got some really great gifts for Christmas this year and I can’t wait to share some of them with you over the next few weeks.
Back in October I went to Dallas for the I Heart Faces Conference and my good friend Amy picked me up from the airport. After a quick hug, the first thing I noticed was the stylish and inspiring wrap bracelet she was wearing.
As soon as I got home, I had to look it up and was even MORE impressed by the company that makes the bracelet, Good Work(s) Make a Difference ®.
Created by momprenuer Helena Cho, each colorful bracelet is embossed with a number of uplifting and motivating phases such as “forgive,” “strength,” be aware,” “faith,” “freedom,” “accept diversity.”
But, here’s the best part…… Good Work(s) is a brand with a purpose ..…not only do these bracelets make you look and feel good, but, by purchasing one you are helping to do good! 25% of the net profits go to good causes. By helping those in need, Good Work(s) is able to send girls to the prom who couldn’t afford their dresses and help children through college when their mom has passed away from breast cancer. In 2012 Good Work(s) had a goal is to move 120 homeless families off the streets and into furnished homes in their “Home Sweeter Home for the Homeless” campaign. As soon as I laid my eyes on my Amy’s bracelet, I knew I had to have one but after reading about this celebrity loved fashion, I wanted one even more. So, I sent the link to the Silver Come Together Metallic Bracelet to my daughter with the subject line “Santa gift”;)
I love mine so much, I would love to give 2 TidyMom readers the Happy Days Wrap Around Bracelet, winner can pick the color.

I love these precious gifts. I purchase coffee at Starbucks and pay it forward by buying coffee for the person behind me. I am also sending 10 gifts randomly this year to people who sent me their address on Facebook. If I win I will pay it forward and send a bracelet to one of those 10 people.
I recently started a part time job. The other asst. manager was supposed to work Christmas Eve and close the store. I traded with him because his family is 3 hours away and mine is a whopping 3 minutes from the store. That way we all got to spend time with our families.
We “adopted” a family from our church at Christmas time and got gifts for their 4 kids….it was fun to shop for them and a great lesson on giving to teach our kids! 🙂
Hello,
Although I love to do things for others, I have been told that if I had the money to give to everyone I would like to help I would be broke. But, in reality I would be rich because my heart would be so full of love. I work for a children’s hospital foundation, and I know why I come to work everyday. The sick kids help me keep in perspective how lucky I really am to have a healthy child.
I have tried to pass on the importance to my child of why we need to donate our time. I can’t teach my child the importance of volunteering, but getting them involved in the community will. My daughter has volunteered her last three summers to the hospital, for nothing in return but a thank you. I am really proud of her, and she has come to the conclusion that she wants to be a nurse at this particular hospital.
I would love for her to be able to have one of your lovely bracelets, so I am hopeful she will win. Thank you and god bless you and yours!
Angie
Our neighbors have been going thru some hard times, so after the last snow storm I paid our snowplow guy to plow our neighbors driveway and shovel their walk ….they woke up to a nice surprise 🙂
My good friend is trying to get over an unexpected breakup. I am trying to be the kind of friend I would want if I were going through the same thing. I just try to listen as she works through the heart break. It’s difficult to see her so sad.
I have a childhood friend who has many health issues and she can no longer drive…..I take her to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and pick up other things she needs.
I watched a friend of mine’s kids so she and her husband could get in a date.
My boss didn’t get to be with her kids on Christmas Eve or Christmas day, so I worked for her for three days so that she could go get them and have a wonderful Christmas during New years:) She was so grateful that I would give up my holiday for her and her kids. We have a great work relationship and team work matters to me, whether it’s personal or not, and I try to treat people the way I would want to be treated!
I picked up the tab when a young man in front of me realized he had forgotten his wallet and was buying coffees for himself and what appeared to be a date. Rather than let him squirm and have her pay, I picked it up for them.
I helped my mother-in-law cook and prep for their holiday party. (I rarely cook!)
My daughter is pregnant and a single mom so I took her in while she is pregnant and pack her lunches, make her breakfast cook her supper and wash her clothes to help her out.
I fixed dinner for my sister and her husband one day last week and took it to her house…she had not been feeling well, so I decided to surprise her with a home-cooked meal.
Those bracelets are beautiful! I love the silver. Gosh, I feel like I’m bragging… I don’t normally talk about thing I do for other people lol. Makes me feel weird. But when our cousins had their little girl in December, I cooked some dishes and we packed a cooler of food and took it to them when we went to visit them 🙂 I think that counts 🙂
My family and I make sure to clear our elderly neighbor’s walks whenever it snows.
Ii always love to do good things for others. My love of baking has lead me to help bring Icing Smiles to Canada. I am a volunteer that is helping bring critically ill children cakes for their birthday. A smile on their face and happiness in a bad situation makes your heart warmer.
My family gives a grocery giftcard every Christmas to a family (or families) that we know of that’s in need. This year we did the same. Feels so good to be able to help others!!
Just last month I made a big batch of cookies and once my daughter woke up, we went mailbox to mailbox delivering a cookie surprise for all our neighbors. We also left a bag of cookies in our own mailbox for our mail person to enjoy as a treat! My daughter is only 1 1/2 years old but I hope the things we do together will teach her to be a good, kind, sharing human on this earth.
It feels strange to be tooting my own horn and not someone elses! Something I’ve done for someone else… my friend was hosting a Christmas Tea and I took care of things in the kitchen so she could enjoy tea with her guests. ♥
I do consider all the concepts you have offered on your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for newbies. May just you please lengthen them a little from next time? Thank you for the post..See
I make goodie boxes for family & friends at the holidays and I’ve started making mini boxes to give out to some employees at the different stores that I am a merchandiser in. We also give a lot to our local Boy Scouts organization and make sure that our boys follow what they have learned in Scouts. The 3 days that they’ve had to shovel our driveway we’ve also made sure they go do a couple of elderly neighbors drives & sidewalks also. These bracelets are beautiful, thank you for the chance to win one.
A couple of weeks ago, a coworker of mine was stranded at her home because of a car that wouldn’t start, and she had to get to the office to give an important presentation. Our efforts to jump the car were fruitless, so we piled her daughters into my car and I chauffered them to daycare and her to the office. It was a long morning, but worth it–her girls are so sweet!
I baby-sit my pastor’s twins so that he and his wife can have a little time to themselves.
I try to clean the ice off someone else’s windshield in the parking lot where I work. I have to admit hoping this good deed will come around back to me sometime.
Not having children, but seeing so many posts on Facebook from friends with kids that they would like a day or two to themselves to get things done, I offered to have friends drop off their young kids at our home on days I’m available. I’ve had so much fun crafting, dressing up, storytelling, and playing with the kids these past couple of months, and I love the look on mom’s face when she comes to pick them up.
I’ve cleaned for an elderly couple.
My kids and I spend a cold Saturday in December every year taking hot coffee and donuts to the Salvation Army bell ringers in our city. It can be so cold , especially with the wind.
I keep my grandson during the day to save my son the cost of daycare…at least that’s what I tell them! I love sharing my day with the little turkey! ♥
I recovered an old couch and a chair for the Hope Clinic’s family waiting room.
i often add a friends kid to my mix on school holidays so her older kids don’t have to stay home and babysit while mom and dad go to work.
As most people were getting ready for this last step, Sarah and additionally I encased up nearly all of our CD collection. It match pretty nicely in to a few shifting boxes, so most people loaded it within the truck and additionally left.
My best friend has 4 boys with all types of activities and I will take or pick up her sons on occasions when she has conflicting activities.
I prayed with a friend who is going through some big decisions/changes.
I try to encourage and uplift the people around me everyday. Being positive to someone else helps me be positive to myself.
A former coworker of mine just found out her husband has stage 4 colorectal cancer and was trying to do some research on a juicing machine to help him since he is having difficulty eating. I had a juicer that I wasn’t using so I gave it to her – I feel so helpless that there is nothing more I can do for them….this was just a small thing that made her happy and made me feel good to help out. She will be spending enough money over the next months….the last thing she needed was to shell out more funds when I had a perfectly good appliance that I wasn’t using.
Gave around 20 lbs of meat to my parents neighbor. He is single and his son lives with him. He struggles for every dollar he earns. He grills almost all of his food and was very appreciative of the roasts, steaks and other meats that my husband and I gave him.
I helped a coworker that was out sick by doing some of her work so she would be caught up when she got back.
We believe doing “good” is really doing what God comands us to do…kindness, thanking someone (verbally or written) sharing what we have, etc. Holding the door for an elderly person, paying for a young family at a restaurant, lifting someone up in prayer. We just need to be more aware of our surroundings…there are lots of needs and ways to be kind on a daily basis and they certainly don’t have to cost anything!! Do something today!
I spent a lot of time tutoring this semester at school and gained some new friends.
I took my cousin out for lunch. We are trying to reconnect. The family is growing smaller.
I love your knit scarf too – such a lovely cobalt blue.
I made memorial luminarias for all the angels who went to heaven in the Sandy Hook Tragedy. I wrote each persons name on the bag and put tea light candles in them. I light them at night in memory of all the angels. I decorated the bags with glitter stars! They look really pretty at night! God Bless them all!
Gave our old car to an employee.
A man came into my work over the holidays and seemed very sad. I asked him what his plans were for Thanksgiving. He said his wife had passed away so he was going to help out at the hospital during the day and then eat in the cafeteria. I felt so sad, so I invited him to join my kids and I for Thanksgiving. It really made his day.
I connected one of my college students with a wonderfully generous friend. My friend secured $1000 to help my student pay off her tuition bill! She will now graduate in May!
My mom is the hardest working woman I know so sometimes I like to suprise her by cleaning her house for her while she’s at work!
We have been doing the 26 random acts of kindness. The most recent ones we have done is left a $20 bill taped to a gas pump & left laundry soap & tokens on top of the machines with notes explaining why we were doing it.
In the past 8 months, 2 of my grown children have moved back in to our home, one of them with 2 children:-)
First and foremost, thank you for your kindness… in giving TWO of these away. I’m sincerely touched by all the good things your readers have done for others. My hubby and I sent money to some family to help with an unexpected (and very large) veterinary bill. Love their little doggy! Blessings to you, friend!! xo
I stayed “Home Alone ” on Christmas thru New Year’s so my Daughter,Son-in-law and 3 Grands could go to Iowa for a White Christmas with my Son-in-law’s family.I watched their 3 dogs,2 turtles,2 cockatiels ,guppies and house.Wrapped all my daughter’s and Santa’s gifts(they could only bring 2 gifts for @ of the Grands as there were too many kids) 50 gifts in all.Cooked a Christmas dinner on the 23rd for friends visiting on their way to New Mexico to see their parents for Christmas. They stayed one night and continued the journey. And with the left over turkey I made soup for a neighbors hubby who got the flu the day after Christmas. And I didn’t mind.A little time kinda alone was a good reflecting time for me!Thanks ,loved, shared and tweeted.Awesome bracelet
