I don’t like to think of helping strangers as doing something good, but as doing something right. I live in NYC, where homelessness is still an issue, so whenever I see someone hungry, I give what I can. Just seems right.
Today, I took my friend to lunch. We sat and talked long after the lunch crowd was gone. She just lost her dad, and her mom doesn’t have long to live. When we parted, she said, “Well, this was WAY better than therapy!!!” I didn’t think that I’d done anything — but just spending time together meant the world to her.
LOVE those bracelets! Our family collects coats/blankets for our church drive for the homeless, and the kids and I volunteered to decorate and make meals at our local food bank
My family just went through items in our home and donated them to a charity that helps women escaping from domestic violence. Hopefully those items help women start a new life.

Our family did 5 boxes this year for Samaritan’s Purse….Operation Christmas Child.
My dear momma was very sick with the influenza over Christmas, I got to be her hands and feet in preparing our family Christmas meal and various other tasks over the holiday break…she ended up going to the hospital and all is well….I’d do it all again for my momma! Love those! Recently, the kids and I participated in 26 acts. 26 random acts of kindness to others, it was amazing to give to others as a family activity.
My girlfriend and I are helping each other through our battle with breast cancer. We are both in our mid 40’s with young children so it helps having each other to lean on and are daughters are best friends.
my dad passed away last year, so I donated his suits to the VA to help veterans on their job interviews – he was a veteran and I work at the VA, so I thought this would help honor his memory!

Our family has sponsored children and families in the United Nations World Food ProgramWFP Food for work program. Two children have been fed for a year. Two families have received twenty eggs each and ten woman get food and work.
Those are the coolest bracelets!!! We always donate money for needy families in area through our church. Then we got to take the money and buy the items for the kids on the list. It was fun to do it with our kids.
I’m a volunteer EMT in my spare time and I feel blessed to be able to do good for people every day!
Thank you for sharing this post .. what a gorgeous bracelet and I will have to check their website since I never heard of them. I watched our friend’s little boy for about a week when the family had to stayed in the hospital for about 10 days to take care their daughter after a burnt accident. Glad to helped out and would do it again when another opportunity arises to help out friends.

My good work is, this Christmas my family and I filled a backpack with items for a street-involved youth through a program at our local drop-in 🙂
Had a horrible flight coming home from West Palm Beach to Newark. Flight was 8 hours delayed, hit major turbulence that we thought we were going to crash, and flight was re-directed as we were about to land in Newark to JFK. I had noticed an elderly woman sitting behind my husband she looked very tired and scared. I smiled a few times at her and when we landed I had asked her f she had a way of contacting her family. She used my cell phone and her daughter was very grateful. There was so much chaos since we had no idea if and when our plane would be able to get clearance to go to Newark. My kids and my self were to scared to fly any more for the day my husband arranged for the car service to come to JFK. In the mean time the elderly woman named Josephine was hungry,thirsty and very upset over the days events, I gave her the rest of my sandwich and offered her a ride to my house where her daughter picked her up and hugged us for taking care of her mom. Now we call her Grandma Josephine and we send cards and call each other. She even sent us flowers thank us. She calls me her Guardian Angel. I only did what any human being would do help another in need.
I took my friend out for an afternoon away from the craziness around her home. Her husband lost his job and had been ill and in the hospital and now that he is home it has been a lot of care giving on her part…She needed a break. I made the day about her and not all the problems.

I was leaving Walmart a few days ago and it was pretty chilly outside. There was a man sititng on the corner at the stop sign (not unusual for that area) and he had a sign that said he was homeless and needed food. I was on my way to the grocery store for something I forgot and decided to get him a cup of warm soup, some cornbread, and a bottle of water. (I also had $2 cash on me and I gave him that also in the bag.) I went back to the stop sign afterward and gave it to him. He was so grateful. I prayed for him on the way home (and cried most of the way). We are always donating to the less fortunate, but it really hit me to directly give to that man. I prayed that what I did for him, no matter what his situation, he would know that God loved him and hadn’t forgotten him.
Every year my family and I cook dinner together to take to the homeless. Every time we do it, we add more friends that give different items we include in the package.

I donated winter clothing to a local shelter.
I know someone that has many struggles and is still so strong and positive. I sent her money to buy her Grandkids Christmas gifts and to pay her heating bill. She inspires me, she is so amazing. I do not think I could be so strong if given the same cihallenges she has faced.

Love the bracelets. I donate blood to the Red Cross every 52 days because I am O- which is the universal donor. (Meaning anyone can use my blood.) They are always in dire need of O- so I can never say no.
Lovely bracelets, we donate food to the food pantry once a month. I let my kids pick out the items off of the list and we take the donations as a family.
We love to have people bring gifts to holiday parties, that we can donate to Toys for Tots. This year my goal is to get my daughter involved in some sort of service work, that we can do together.
tonight i made my famous lemon /lavender cookies. put them in cute bags and plan to t ake them by some of my fav people. likethe bank teller, guy that always smiles when i run im hos store for a diet coke!

I ADORE these bracelets!! My neice had one a couple of summers ago and I tried to find one where she bought it but they were sold out!
On a typical trip to the grocery store one Saturday, I noticed an elderly lady looking confused. I asked her if everything was alright and she indicated she had locked her keys in her car and couldn’t get ahold of her son who was at her home. I drove her to her house to get the keys and then back to the store to unlock her car. I learned a lot about her during that car ride and I felt so good the rest of the day… into the week… after helping her. I couldn’t help but wonder how many people walked past her before she was helped.

This Christmas, a co-worker of mine and I were chatting. He’s a single dad and only has a part-time job. Money is tight for him. We were talking about decorating and he mentioned he wasn’t sure he’d be able to get a tree this year. And his 4 yr. old was pretty bummed that his day-care wasn’t going to have one either.
So my co-workers and I and my husband bought him a tree, ornaments, a topper, lights, stand, tree skirt, and $20 giftcard so he could take his son and let his son pick out some ornaments.
He was so grateful. My co-workers and I have decided to adopt someone in the community every Christmas, that can’t afford to decorate or get gifts!

At least twice a month, I pay for the persons breakfast behind me at McDonalds or Chickfila. Not only does it make the cashier happy and excited to tell the person, but the person gets a free breakfst and maybe a better start to their morning!
I’m a HS administrator, and one of our students had a baby over Thanksgiving. Recently, the baby had to go to the hospital with a fever, and the baby’s mom (our student), had to stay for several days alone with her sick baby. (Her mom (the baby’s grandmother) works two jobs and one is a night shift, so she couldn’t stay with her daughter and grandson.) I went and visited the student and took her dinner, some Christmas snack mix, and $3.00 in quarters for the snack machine. I think the most valuable thing I gave her was the time I spent with her just visiting and keeping her company.

These bracelets are so cool, I would normally not make a big deal of this but… my MIL had a procedure done at the hospital but ended up having a stroke and could not go back to her own home. We are caring for her at our house, giving her our bedroom because of the attached bathroom. Thankfully the Lord has been merciful and she had no paralysis but it did effect her balance, so she is walking with a walker. I homeschool my boys so I’m thankful she did not have to go to a nursing home to recover. We are all learning lessons in serving others and making sacrifices for others 🙂 Thank you for the chance to win!

Last year, I automatically donated part of my paycheck to two charities, specifically to help those in need get the furniture they need for their homes and also to fight hunger locally. Wish I could do more!
This past weekend, instead of taking all my baby’s outgrown clothing to the resale shop I gifted them to someone in need. We could use the money/credit at the store but a good deed to another goes a longer way!
I try to help whenever I can and see that someone needs it. I helped a lady with her groceries the other day. I donated warm winter items to the shelter and old blankets and towels to the animal shelter too. I don’t have a lot to give, but would rather share and donate when I can.
Love those bracelets! I try to be the best mom everyday to my 10-month old son. Today he has a fever so he didn’t want to be put down, so I carried him the whole day.
