A garage is a great place to keep equipment, tools and cars, but it can quickly become overcrowded with bikes, lawn care tools and toys. Leaving everything on the floor wastes tons of available space. Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems help you take advantage of your space and organize your garage.
We moved to this house 9 months ago, after living 16 years with out a garage. I can’t begin to tell you how excited we were to have a garage. Needless to say, we were pretty clueless on how to organize the garage and of course on moving day, it’s where things were dumped, and the mess was starting to get a little out of hand.
I wanted to get a system in place before it got out of hand. So I was super excited when the wonderful people at Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems reached out and asked if we could work together on a garage storage system for our house.
There was one wire shelf in the back corner of the garage when we moved in, and we had two industrial free standing shelves that we brought with us…..it wasn’t enough.
I knew at this rate, it would soon become impossible to get the cars inside. It was already at the point that only my car fit, Allison’s Jeep and Steve’s truck had to stay in the driveway. What good is a two car garage if you can’t fit two cars in it?
Enter……Ray, with Monkey Bars in St. Louis. He came over to our house back in December. He took a look at our garage then and we sat in our kitchen and discussed what would work best for our family. Monkey Bar Garage Systems are designed for efficiency. Their patented hook and bar system allows you to store three times more items than any other storage system.
The integrated, adjustable & expandable system itself is able to effectively organize long- and short-term storage items by using the vertical space in garages. You can organize, bikes, tools, folding chairs and many other items you store in your garage in less than 1/3 of the space of other systems! Utilizing steel brackets, shelving and hooks, the system can take on a variety of sizes based on your needs.
We have empty shelves yet to fill and the new wall cabinet is perfect for my husband to store chemicals he uses for work.
How it works
The bars, which slide into brackets that support the upper shelving, give place for the variety of hooks that can hold everything from bikes and golf bags to shovels, wheelbarrows and surf boards. Secured with a 3 x 3/8 inch screw in the centers of wall studs, the system is capable of holding up to 1,000 pounds every 4 feet! how fabulous is that?! check out this video to see Monkey Bars in action.
Getting all of our tools out of the small trashcan, makes them much more accessible, and safer to get to.

My biggest obstacle is too much stuff and having no way to organize it.
My biggest obstacle in garage organization is my husband!!! LOL Really he has all different kinds of things to store and no way to organize. So all of it just ends up dumped on the work bench and floor. I also have to use part of the garage for my pantry because my kitchen has very little storage. He parks his motorcycle in there, too. It’s just a mess! Needs a complete overhaul.
The biggest obstacle is first the time to clean it out, and the money to buy the organizers.
I have lots of stuff, my husband has lots of stuff, we have a small garage!
Outdoor decorations…love them…hate storing them!
The biggest challenge is for my family to clean up the garage. Maybe with this system, it will get done.
Our biggest obstacle is keeping all of mine, the hubs, and 3 kids stuff IN the garage & ORGANIZED at the same time!!
For me, the hardest thing is organizing and storing the kids outdoor toys – bikes, tricycles, wagons, sports equipment, etc. They seem to take up lots of space, and the kids need to be able to access them as well as put them away.
Kevin says his biggest obstacle is keeping stuff off the floor. Love what you’ve done with your garage!
My biggest obstacle is my husband. After 28 years of marriage, and four boys. He NEVER throws anything away, broken or not it stays. “I might need that some day”. So I put it aside, wait for garbage day, and away it goes. We try once a year to organize the garden tools but always end up being put else where and have to search for them in the spring.
The biggest challenge is now storage for all my son’s old toys, clothing that doens’t fit him anymore, etc. being added on top of our already disorganized items that we have collected over 15 years in our house. I think we need a system that allows for everything in its rightful place.
My biggest obstacle are my grown sons that can’t seem to find room at their own houses for their stuff
Too much stuff and no where to put it and things just get dumped in garage. Whats crazy is that is the area more people see than the rest of the house that I always worry about keeping clean and tidy!
For me the most difficult part is all the seasonal items that can’t be outside in the summer/winter and the things that my husband doesn’t have time to lug to the attic or cellar that just make a temporary stop in the basement. We don’t even use our garage in the winter and we live in Maine because it’s usually too full! (We got dumped with five inches of snow on this lovely first day of spring!!).
We have so many different things to organize-tools, ladders, paint and repair supplies, fishing gear, boating gear, bikes, holiday storage bins, unused rarely needed items-I get bogged down trying to organize like items and be able to retrieve when needed in future! Your post has given me good ideas! reorganizing our garage is #1 on our “to do” list this Spring!
My biggest obstacle in garage organization would be balancing my stuff, kids bikes, hubby’s tools all in one space!
My biggest challenge is to find storage that fits into both my space and my budget.
Storing items such as paint cans, gardening pesticides, etc always presents a problem for me.
Parking 2 vehicles in the garage and finding storage for all the items that we can’t have out in the winter.
It seems like our kids’ toys and sport equipment are constantly changing and building up so it’s hard to keep up with it!
My biggest obstacle is the large items, like the mower, bikes, etc. Also, the crashed is our ONLY storage other than in our very small home, so, anything that’s not IN, is OUT there!!!
We have two things against us–time and space. This would really help us out.
Lack of time is our biggest obstacle.
Biggest obstacle is nothing gets put away. Everthing just gets piled in corners
My biggest obstacle is finding places to put everything. The gardening tools get tangled in the the scooters and there are boxes with stuff I do not know about. It is just a mess.
My garage sides have had a landslide & filled in the middle so I can’t even park in my garage any more, I NEED MONKEY BARS SO BAD
Having a place for everything so everything can be put in it’s place!!! Organization sounds like heaven!!
This would help create space in my garage since I barely have enough space to fit my car when it’s empty
Stuff, Space, Time
We have too much STUFF
Not enough SPACE
Too little TIME to deal with it
What a great organizer for the garage!
Love the monkey bars. Sure could use the garden tool rake. Thanks for the giveaway!
We still have a garage full of boxes and general “stuff” from when we moved in two years ago. I just don’t even know where to start!
Ooh the hardest thing to organize are all the tools and gadgets we’ve collected throughout the years. Finding where to put/place them and having enough shelving to do as much.
Too. Much. Stuff.
My biggest obstacle for organizing the garage is getting my kids and husband on board to organize and keep it organized. I guess this means-I just need a better system!
We don’t have enough space in our garage for the toys, sporting goods and knick knacks. I think if we had this organizer it would free up some much needed space!
Hiding all the chemicals and keeping the tools away safely for the children.
My garage is tiny. I have a high ceiling and have always wondered how I could utilize it for stuff that isn’t used very often.
the project truck, and parts parts parts!
its always hard to keep it tidy especially with so many car things and storage items
When we clean/organize in the house a pile of stuff gets brought outside to ‘store’, which means pile and junk up our outdoor space. Arg!
Our garage is only a 1 car and we have a big van, so space for everything else is a problem- there is NO FLOOR SPACE, so a system like this is exactly what we need!
my biggest obstacle is (other than my husband) is the garbage/recycling cans and boxes (which need broken down and taken to recycle areas)
Too much stuff and too little useful space in the garage. Help!
My biggest obstacle to organization is not very much room and to much stuff! We homeschool and have other hobbies that take up room..and it makes for a cluttered messy feeling!
Our biggest obstacle is getting things off the floor. We have items stacked all over the place, and it’s a tight squeeze to get the cars in. The other issue is organizing all the small stuff like nails and screws, which spill out all the time!
I have to stop saving things “in case I need them again!” That means I have to sort and recycle, but I’m ready to do that.
Our biggest problem in our garage is the storage of our four kids’ bikes and scooters! Thanks for this chance!
Heavens!!! This is what we need in our garage. I can’t believe how much “junk” we have stashed in our garage.
We just have too much stuff and it is not organized.
