A garage is a great place to keep equipment, tools and cars, but it can quickly become overcrowded with bikes, lawn care tools and toys. Leaving everything on the floor wastes tons of available space. Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems help you take advantage of your space and organize your garage.
We moved to this house 9 months ago, after living 16 years with out a garage. I can’t begin to tell you how excited we were to have a garage. Needless to say, we were pretty clueless on how to organize the garage and of course on moving day, it’s where things were dumped, and the mess was starting to get a little out of hand.
I wanted to get a system in place before it got out of hand. So I was super excited when the wonderful people at Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems reached out and asked if we could work together on a garage storage system for our house.
There was one wire shelf in the back corner of the garage when we moved in, and we had two industrial free standing shelves that we brought with us…..it wasn’t enough.
I knew at this rate, it would soon become impossible to get the cars inside. It was already at the point that only my car fit, Allison’s Jeep and Steve’s truck had to stay in the driveway. What good is a two car garage if you can’t fit two cars in it?
Enter……Ray, with Monkey Bars in St. Louis. He came over to our house back in December. He took a look at our garage then and we sat in our kitchen and discussed what would work best for our family. Monkey Bar Garage Systems are designed for efficiency. Their patented hook and bar system allows you to store three times more items than any other storage system.
The integrated, adjustable & expandable system itself is able to effectively organize long- and short-term storage items by using the vertical space in garages. You can organize, bikes, tools, folding chairs and many other items you store in your garage in less than 1/3 of the space of other systems! Utilizing steel brackets, shelving and hooks, the system can take on a variety of sizes based on your needs.
We have empty shelves yet to fill and the new wall cabinet is perfect for my husband to store chemicals he uses for work.
How it works
The bars, which slide into brackets that support the upper shelving, give place for the variety of hooks that can hold everything from bikes and golf bags to shovels, wheelbarrows and surf boards. Secured with a 3 x 3/8 inch screw in the centers of wall studs, the system is capable of holding up to 1,000 pounds every 4 feet! how fabulous is that?! check out this video to see Monkey Bars in action.
Getting all of our tools out of the small trashcan, makes them much more accessible, and safer to get to.
I’m totally in love with how organized the garage is now thanks to Monkey Bars Garage Storage Systems! Garage storage and organization has never been this simple!

Too much stuff! We need a serious purge. Right now, our garage is home to outdoor equipment, a gardening bench, a tool bench, kids’ toys, bikes, & so many odd things (tiles, apple crates, etc.).
My biggest obstacle is too many things that don’t have a designated home. If I were to win this system my husband would have no excuses (haha) and I’d be a happy wife because everything would be in it’s proper place and we’d purge as we fixed up!!!
I could use this! I’d say all of the yard tools. They are just standing up against the wall. Some are hanging on a nail. It would just look much nicer organized!
Tools. Long handled, short stubby, electric, manual… you name it! This looks awesome!!
We have a ton of stuff and they are all ODD SHAPED!! We don’t even want to store cars in the garage we just want it to be semi functional and dare I say PRETTY? Right now we have all sorts of different storage options and its just a mish mash of crap…
Looks great Cheryl! Nice job Steve 🙂
Our biggest obstacle is all of my husbands tools – they are big and heavy and hard to store.
My biggest obstacle is that we have TOO. MUCH. STUFF. Would love some help with that! ha!
My biggest obstacle in our garage is that we don’t have one. We are closing on a house in a month that DOES and I know it will just be keeping stuff out of the garage that doesn’t need to be there!
My biggest obstacle is storing things in an efficient manner and still having them be accessible without stepladders, etc. We live in Colorado, so our garage stores sports equipment, gardening stuff, camping stuff and is also our year-round pantry and mudroom. We want to park both cars indoors, so, sometimes getting to a particular item means moving the car into the alley so that we can regroup. It is all organized, just not “reachable”.
I have been on the Monkey Bars website before, and would love to get a system in place!
My biggest obstacle in the garage is that we use it for too many purposes. We don’t have much storage in this house, and I insist on parking both cars in our garage, so it’s up to the brim full of things. The previous owners also installed things we should really take out that we don’t use, like a big cabinet, although we do use it for storage so who knows?
Too much stuff and not enough space.
Getting things off the floor! We trip over things just trying to get in the door!
Our garage is in desperate need of organization. Overhead storage would be great, wall racks for tools and bikes. I need it all!
A 1-car garage … that floods every spring … loaded with snowblower, lawnmower, cabinets that I tore out & want to recycle for my basement remodel, power saw, chop saw, boat equipment, bikes, seasonal decorations, and EVERYTHING required for my flower and vegetable gardens.
I am amazed that all of that fits in a 16×20 space … albeit I can’t park (or barely walk) in there.
Getting started. Then deciding how/were to put everything and still have things accessible. Space is a big issue.
We just moved and have not organized the garage. This great rack would be a helpful start. Your after picture looks great.
One of our biggest obstacles is all of the kids toys!
Our biggest organization mess in our garage is kid’s larger outdoor toys. If we could get some of the other “stuff” up and off the floor we would have more room for bikes, cozy coupes, etc. Thanks for the giveaway!
getting rid of things in garage that need to go
Our biggest obstacle is all six bikes PLUS the bike trailer. We just saw the Monkey Bar System at a home and garden show. It looks SO nice! Would love to win!
Stuff, stuff and more stuff – – the garage is always the dumping spot.
We also just moved into our first house with a garage. The biggest obstacle for us is it’s barely wide enough to fit a car with enough room to still open the doors on each side. That means EVERYTHING must be stored on the walls. We just had our 2nd child so we haven’t been able to tackle that project yet, and instead have been parking outside in the cold. Would love to start tidying up in there and have a great place to hang all of our new tools to use in our first backyard!
My biggest obstacle is no one wants to get rid of anything so they put it in the garage.
sports equipment and shoes that get thrown into piles when they’re done
My biggest obstacle is that the garage has become the “catch all” room. Nowhere to store something in the house? No problem–toss it in the garage!! It’s a huge mess out there, lol
My biggest problem is all the “junk” we are storing for our kids – both are married but do not want to claim their belongings as they do not have room for them!! HaHa – do I have room for their junk??
We’re halfway through organizing our garage. Right now, we’re stuck on shelving – where should we add shelves? How much? What’s the right type of shelving? Plus, not having a garden shed, means everything is in the garage.
Husband’s anxious to organize after moving. this would be a perfect surprise gift! Thanks for your information and the time and effort you take in selecting items and ideas! So great!
Our current biggest challenge is storing a car for our almost 16 year old. It takes up our 3rd stall AND it means we are getting old
My biggest problem is that we don’t have a big garage. It is quite small.
This is something we really need to work on at our house! The biggest obstacle is that we just have too much junk and most of it winds up piled against the garage walls. So much so that we can only park one car in our two-car garage. This storage system looks like just what we need to get organized.
My biggest obstacle is….all the obstacles! With 4 children, we have bikes and sports equipment, tools and a toolbench, holiday decs, fishing equipment, a lawnmover or snowblower (depending on the season), trash cans, recycling bins…andthere’s probably an extra child or two hidden somewhere in there, too! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
Kids toys are our biggest obstacle!
Kids toys!
Sports stuff and yard tools!
Unused wall space – tons of space
My biggest obstacle is finding a good way to store my craft supplies. I have to keep half of them out there! And a good organization would help immensely.
My husband’s tools are the biggest obstacle.
The biggest obstacle is tI have a one car garage and need the space of a 3 car garage!!!
Biggest obstacle…. saving too many things
Sports equipment is a huge obstacle
Biggest Obstacle…bikes!! There are 6 for all of us, plus the chariot to take the little ones on longer rides. We also have a few extra bikes in in between sizes since the littles grow so fast. Add in scooters, big wheels and a hockey net and we have no chance of getting a car in!! I’d just like a pathway through!
How neat! Thanks!
My biggest obstacle to organization is all of the tools my husband collects, there isn’t enough storage for everything.
Oh my – how fun! LOVE to be organized. The garage seems to always be a catch all for everything that I don’t want to look at. I need to keep it all organized better for my sanity.
My biggest obstacle is my husband, he never wants to get rid of anything. We have a three car garage and can’t get one car in it. We need help!
Our biggest obstacle…..patio table and those pesky ride on kids toys! We could easily use a 3 car garage. We have a 2 car but only 1 car fits! Thank you for the chance to enter!
getting started is the hardest, knowing where to start and what products work the best!
Everything I don’t want in the house gets thrown into the garage.
