Cookie expert, and blogger Bridget Edwards guides you through more than 60 delicious cookie-decorating designs for every occasion and holiday in her book, Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday. Bridget shares her favorite cookie dough and royal icing recipes along with easy-to-follow instructions and step-by-step photos and for an added bonus, five guest-star baker-bloggers each share a special decorating technique in the back of the book!
Over the course of 4+ years since I started blogging, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some incredible people, and lucky enough to call some of them friends. Bridget, of Bake at 350 was the very first blogger I ever connected with.
It was over cookie decorating. I had fallen head over heals in love with her site and how she makes swinging a bag of royal icing over a cut out cookie look so simple.
I decided for Easter 2009 I was going to try decorating cookies with royal icing. I ran into a bit of trouble and shot off an email to Bridget while I was up to my ears in pink and green icing, squeeze bottles and tooth picks.
You know what happened?!……….she emailed me right back!! I’m pretty sure that night we emailed back and forth as Bridget walked me thru my first batch of decorated cookies!
That was the beginning of our friendship!
Now here we are 3 years later and Bridget has published her talents, Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday so she can help you! Just like she helped me!
I’ve had the honor of spending time with Bridget in person on a few occasions – you may remember she was the first blogger I ever met in person, when her sweet hubby surprised her with a trip to come see me!
Not only is she filled with creativity, but she oozes kindness, and class! Not to mention on heck of a sense of humor.
Don’t think this book is only for seasoned cookie decorators. Bridget’s knack for teaching cookie decorating is ideal for the beginner and seasoned cookie decorator. The nicely organized book is full of step by step cookie decorating instructions, including basic techniques to master (like Bridget’s favorite, the flat dot), a detailed section on equipment and supplies you will need, recipes and……my favorite part, a troubleshooting section!
See I told you, it’s just like having Bridget right with you while you work!
Click the picture to see some of the decorated cookies I’ve made over the last few years thanks to Bridget’s help.
I’m in awe at how talented Bridget and all the other cookie decorating ladies are. I often get frustrated that my cookies are perfect, but Bridget always reminds me that “other people will just see a beautiful cookie, not your mistakes” and “you can always eat your mistakes!” HA!
Look for Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday at your local bookstore, and online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. With the holidays fast approaching, this book would make a perfect addition to add to the gift shopping list!

I would love to win this book to give to my Niece as a Wedding Present. As a beginning cook/baker, this would be a great addition to her Kitchen Library.
For years decorating cookies for us was using a ziploc bag, cut in the corner for the frosting. This year I did purchase the piping bags and decorating tips so I’m ready to learn to decorate cookies the right way. I would love to win the book!

A yearly tradition at Christmas each year is baking and decorating sugar cookies. The grandchildren join in on the fun, as well as my very, artistic daughter. We have a blast!

My decorated cookies look, well, let’s go with “She meant well.” This book could save my children from using my baked goods as Rorschach tests.
I have the tools but not the skills to [successfully] decorate cookies. Thankfully, even a funny looking cookie tastes great. I would love this book!
I pinned it.
Everyone in my family is a chocoholic but I have a huge weakness for decorated cookies. Love them! I would love to win a copy of this book to get more creative when I do bake cookies.

I added a link. It’s #222.
The book looks beautiful! I have tried my hand at decorating cookies exactly twice. The first time was for my daughter’s 3rd birthday, a Hello Kitty party. I ended up giving up and having a friend make them. This year, for her Minnie Mouse party, I made some simple polka dot iced cookies. They turned out pretty well, but I wish I’d had my friend make them again! She’d just had a baby, so I felt like I couldn’t ask this time. 🙂
My daughter and I love to bake together….this book looks wonderful!!
I would love to have this book.
My youngest son (I have 3) still enjoys cooking with me (seventh grader) and he would be stoked to bake and decorate then finally eat ANY of these cookies!
I would love this book. I have tried so many times to decorate cookies and they never turn out the way I think they should. Love all the different ideas that are shown.
Thanks for hosting both the link party and the book giveaway, Cheryl. I’m not a US resident but one of my UK friends married an American and lives over there and happy to forward on anything I may win. So I’m assuming I can enter since it can be sent to a US address?
I’d love to win this book. I’ve been lusting over it since it was in pre-order stage. With Christmas coming n’ all, I’d love to win it because, although I’ve made decorated sugar cookies in the past, I’m still very much a beginner and would love to improve on my technique and learn new tips and tricks. It would be amazing for myself and my family of 5 to have better cookies.
Thanks again. 🙂
I love decorating in general and I’d love to get into cookie decorating 🙂

I would love to win Bridget’s Cookie Decorating book! I’ve tried decorating cookies to look “professional” but they come out everything but! The beer mug and hot dogs look amazing and with the step by step directions – I’m sure mine would look something like those (lol). It would also help me with letting the kids decorate their own cookies to look like hers.
