Cookie expert, and blogger Bridget Edwards guides you through more than 60 delicious cookie-decorating designs for every occasion and holiday in her book, Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday. Bridget shares her favorite cookie dough and royal icing recipes along with easy-to-follow instructions and step-by-step photos and for an added bonus, five guest-star baker-bloggers each share a special decorating technique in the back of the book!
Over the course of 4+ years since I started blogging, I’ve had the opportunity to meet some incredible people, and lucky enough to call some of them friends. Bridget, of Bake at 350 was the very first blogger I ever connected with.
It was over cookie decorating. I had fallen head over heals in love with her site and how she makes swinging a bag of royal icing over a cut out cookie look so simple.
I decided for Easter 2009 I was going to try decorating cookies with royal icing. I ran into a bit of trouble and shot off an email to Bridget while I was up to my ears in pink and green icing, squeeze bottles and tooth picks.
You know what happened?!……….she emailed me right back!! I’m pretty sure that night we emailed back and forth as Bridget walked me thru my first batch of decorated cookies!
That was the beginning of our friendship!
Now here we are 3 years later and Bridget has published her talents, Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday so she can help you! Just like she helped me!
I’ve had the honor of spending time with Bridget in person on a few occasions – you may remember she was the first blogger I ever met in person, when her sweet hubby surprised her with a trip to come see me!
Not only is she filled with creativity, but she oozes kindness, and class! Not to mention on heck of a sense of humor.
Don’t think this book is only for seasoned cookie decorators. Bridget’s knack for teaching cookie decorating is ideal for the beginner and seasoned cookie decorator. The nicely organized book is full of step by step cookie decorating instructions, including basic techniques to master (like Bridget’s favorite, the flat dot), a detailed section on equipment and supplies you will need, recipes and……my favorite part, a troubleshooting section!
See I told you, it’s just like having Bridget right with you while you work!
Click the picture to see some of the decorated cookies I’ve made over the last few years thanks to Bridget’s help.
I’m in awe at how talented Bridget and all the other cookie decorating ladies are. I often get frustrated that my cookies are perfect, but Bridget always reminds me that “other people will just see a beautiful cookie, not your mistakes” and “you can always eat your mistakes!” HA!
Look for Decorating Cookies: 60+ Designs for Holidays, Celebrations & Everyday at your local bookstore, and online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. With the holidays fast approaching, this book would make a perfect addition to add to the gift shopping list!

How lovely, they look too good to eat. I think it will. Inspire me to make Xmas cookies!
Loved your preview of Decorating Cookies by Bridget. It made me want to slap on my apron and bake up a batch but anticipate winning book so I can do it up right. Thanks for the chance.
I would love to win this book. It is on my Christmas list. Bridget also saved my life once. I had offered to make the big sail boat cookies for a first birthday party and the mom wanted them to have the color “surf” in them. “Surf” is a Sharpie marker color. I was at a loss so I emailed B and she answered me right back with the exact combo of colors to make beautiful surf cookies. She is precious.
That book is just beautiful. I need to get one for baking, and another copy just for perusing!
I Love decorating cookies & would love a new coobook!
I have a rubbermade (large) container of cookie cutters and would love to make them come to life. I want to master using royal icing without softening or changing the cookie. I need you Tidy Mom- and the book:)
Thanks, Donna Wolter
I love to decorate cookies, cakes, I’d love to win!
I decorate cakes but have been dying to try cookies!
I have only decorated some heart shaped cookies for my hubs to look like bras & panties. Turned out cute, but the recipes came from a scandinavian country and I had a dickens of a time figuring out what they were telling me! I would soooooooo love to have this book. This is a stress relieving activity!
Just shared this post/giveaway! Still crossing fingers that I will win the book!
I have decorated cakes for many years mostly for family and friend’s birthdays and weddings but I’ve done very little with cookies. I’ve always wanted to learn the techniques for making fun and beautiful cookies and Bridget’s book would be ideal!
It has always been one of my dreams to be able to decorate beautiful cookies like the ones in the book…having it would be such an inspiration. Thank you!!
I posted Bridget’s book on Pinterest with the link to Tidy Mom.
I posted on TidyMom’s Facebook page about Bridget’s Cookie Decorating book.

I’ve been following Bridget’s blog for quite some time and I’m always in awe everytime I see her cookies. I’ve bookmarked a few from her site to try and decorating cookies is something that I would really like to learn more about so it would be great if I won a copy of Decorating Cookies.
Bridget was the first blog I started following for baking and is actually how I found your’s as well. I wanted to learn how to bake and decorate cookies for my daughter’s birthday. I find myself referencing her blog all the time when making them now (no matter how many times I’ve done it.) I LOVE her cookies and would love a copy of her book!!!
I love Bridget’s blog and would love to win a copy of her book (it’s actually on my Christmas list). I’ve saved so many decorated cookies to my pinterest board and even though I’m new at this, I hope that someday I’ll be good enough to make some of them.
I’ve tried decorating, but need lots more practice. Would love a book on the subject.

Have been collecting cookie cutters for years, this book looks like it will gelp with decorating them
I love decorating cookies…Have been following Bridget’s blog for awhile. I have her book on my wishlist…hopping to buy it after my next paycheck.
I actually made Chevron sugar cookies for a baby shower!
I do decorate cookies sometimes but there’s a world of things I could learn from Bridget!
I was searching for a basic sugar cookie recipe online, back in either 2009 or 2010, and came across Bridget’s blog. I then discovered the brilliant technique you shared on her University of Cookie link, of cooling the rolled out dough before cutting the shapes! I have been following TidyMom and Bake at 350 ever since! I am so thrilled for Bridget’s first published book and would love to win a copy! She seems so sweet, funny, patient and talanted!!
I’m not very good at decorating cookies, I’ve tried and failed miserably! I have however with the help of my sister decorated a few cakes for our kiddos birthdays. We thought they were pretty awesome 🙂
Hi!
Thanks for letting me share How to Have a Healthy Halloween!
I’d love to improve my decorating skills. Bridget’s cookies always look amazing!
the pictures of these cookies are too cute, I would love to get this to work together with my daughter. She has just started getting interested in decorating cakes so I think this would be so much fun too. We only decorate very simple cut out cookies at Christmas. Nothing fancy. Never thought of all the possibility’s before
One of my Christmas cookies are decorated and I’d love to learn to make them look better. Great giveaway – thanks.
I haven’t tried decorating cookies yet but this book would definitely help change that! I’ve just started getting into baking and I’m excited to being learning how to decorate cookies 🙂
I love her website too, and check it often. I have many cookie cutters and would love more ideas from her book!
